Kolářová, Barbora ; Hádková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Miroslava (referee)
The thesis focuses on the quality of life of people with hearing impairment acquired in adulthood. The objective of the thesis corresponds to the title, i.e. to study the effect of acquired hearing impairment on the subjective perception of quality of life. The first part of the thesis presents a theoretical elaboration on the subject based on a study of the literature focusing on hearing impairment and quality of life. The second part of the thesis contains the research itself. The research sample was intentionally defined as very diverse, which allows indicating the broad scope of the topic under study and identifying common aspects. The research questions are focused on sub-topics, such as what is the subjective perception of quality of life in the context of age or general health, what are the informants' personal experiences with compensatory aids, or what areas of quality of life are most affected by hearing impairment. The elaboration of the topic is based on a qualitative analysis of information obtained from a questionnaire survey and semi-structured personal interviews, which are processed in the form of case studies. JAŠKOVÁ, Kristýna
This diploma thesis focuses on people suffering from physical and combined handicaps and the options of their independent living. An increased attention will be paid to not so common and traditional models of ensuring an independent housing, a qualified description of their function and the options of their use in wider terms. In order to find out the objective of this diploma thesis, three research questions were posed. RQ no.1 How do the role of a social worker and the methods used within social work differ while supporting the user transferring towards independent living and its implementation in relation to the utilized living model of people suffering from physical and combined handicaps? RQ no.2 What do positive contributions and subjectively perceived disadvantages of individual models and ways of independent living of people suffering from physical and combined handicap rely in? RQ no.3 In what way and using what organisational and personnel requirements and what legal frame are ´unconventional´ ways of living of people suffering from physical and combined handicap implemented in comparison to usual and mostly used forms? What are the options and opportunities for their development and wider use? The research part was processed on the basis of a qualitative research strategy using the questionnaire method, the technique of a semi-structured interview. This interview consisted of questions aimed at the providers and the users of individual services as well as the unconventional forms of independent housing. The interviews consisted of 25 questions that were, based on the interviews, being completed by further questions. A family caring for an adult child with a mental disability
KOUBKOVÁ, Anna
This bachelor thesis is focused on the problematics of families who raised and are caring for an adult child with a mental disability. This work aims to lay out how parents look at the situations in their family, in what aspect their lives are either limited or enriched, whether they perceive any changes in the methods of care for their offspring and how they reflect at them. The work also focuses on the resources from which the parents draw strength to overcome the difficulties tied to raising of their offspring, and the support they receive. The theoretical part describes the categorization of people with a mental disability and how the mental disability of a child influences the situation of the family. Furthermore, it establishes the meaning of core terms used throughout the work. Qualitative research has been conducted, and it consists of forms of half-structured dialogues with six parents (out of four families) who are taking care of an adult person with a mental disability. Many changes and limitations have been found in families due to the presence of a child with a disability. Parents perceive several negatives associated with caring for a disabled child, which directly result from the nature of the disability, as well as some benefits. The presence of a mentally handicapped child was not found to affect the parents' partnership. Furthermore, it was found that an important factor for coping with difficult situations resulting from care is the support of various types that parents receive and that parents cope with difficult situations in specific ways. Research shows that parents are very worried about their child's future.

Using the MMPI-2 in Differential Diagnostic of Asperger's Syndrome and Schizofrenia
Adámková, Jana ; Soukupová, Tereza (advisor) ; Goldmann, Petr (referee)
The main target of this study is to identify the scales in MMPI-2 which could help the differential diagnostic process between Asperger's syndrome and schizophrenia. Adult persons with Asperger's syndrome and adult persons with schizophrenia were examined. The study has a quantitative character, concretely data mining, which offers generating and verifying hypothesis. The results show that configuration of heights of specific scales can be crucial in distinguishing between Asperger's syndrome and schizophrenia. In the concrete we expect increase in 0Si, Sc1, Pa2 and OBS along with medial T-scores in Sc6, Pa1, Psyc and Biz in protocols of people with Asperger's syndrome. People with schizophrenia have increased T-scores in Sc6, Pa1, Psyc and Biz. KEY WORDS  Asperger's syndrome  Schizophrenia  Differential diagnostic  Adulthood  MMPI-2
Psychological aspects of the late diagnosis of AS
Adámková, Jana ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Rendl, Miroslav (referee)
The principal purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to survey the psychological aspects of a late diagnosis (in adolescence and later) of the Asperger syndrome (also known as the Asperger's syndrome or Asperger's disorder). For this purpose the author has identified the theoretical assumptions on the basis of which she addresses the impacts of the identification of a diagnosis on the persons' mental state, emphasising the specifics of this process for the diagnosis of the Asperger syndrome. The author then uses these assumptions for performing a qualitative analysis of the testimonies of some people in whom the Asperger syndrome was diagnosed after the age of 30. The respondents talk about their lives prior to learning of their Asperger syndrome, about the influence that this new information has had on them, about the way in which they made the decision to undergo diagnostics, and of what they were afraid and in what they hoped. The conclusion of the thesis summarises the areas with which the identification of an Asperger syndrome diagnosis interferes. KEY WORDS Asperger syndrome diagnostics adulthood psychological aspects
