Linking technical and natural infrastructure to climate change in cities
Svobodová, Lenka ; Hyánková,, Eva (referee) ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The thesis is focused on linking technical and natural infrastructures in cities with respect to climate change. Various means of growing plants are presented by introducing urban farming. In the first, theoretical section, climate change is claimed to be a global threat for human kind which is more and more visible in cities. Many examples of adaptation and mitigation of climate change in cities are displayed. In the second, practical section, one existing technical measure from Brno city is examined – difference between technical and natural infrastructure is demonstrated. Finally, calculation method for environment-friendly crops growing, not only for cities, is introduced.
Maximization the Number of Employees from Interns in the Selected Company
Urbánková, Petra ; Mazůrek, Tomáš (referee) ; Konečný, Štěpán (advisor)
The purpose of this master thesis is to determine recommendations that would help the Thermo Fisher Scientific Brno s.r.o. company to expand their employee base. The research attempts to determine the satisfaction of interns with working environment and find crucial factors that are considered by them to choose the future employer. The research is carried out on the basis of questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews with interns from different departments. Based on the survey results and theoretical overview appropriate recommendations will be proposed and quantify to maximise the number of interns getting employed after finishing the internship.
Adaptatiton of Primary School in Krasno
Peciarová, Gabriela ; Klimek, Karel (referee) ; Králová, Zuzana (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is concerned with creating constructional and technical research, followed by creating field sketch and delineating the real state of an object of primary school in village Krasno, build in 1933. There is no technical evidence about the construction.Due to the placement of the building and needs of the village there is new purpose of use designed as the building is not used anymore for its initial purpose and it is deteriorating. After the adaption, the object will be used for followed purposes: free time center, surgery and gym. In order to improve heat economy, there is designed insulation with contact insulating system ETICS, existing wooden windows will be exchanged by plastic windows as well as existing roof covering will be replaced by new one. Hygienic background is not meeting criteria and therefore it is suggested to break it down.New hygienic background is designed to meet all the criteria, material and disposition ones.
Adaptation of the Watermill
Pavlík, Jan ; Hudec, Martin (referee) ; Klas, Roman (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis is composed of two parts. In the first part, there is a generally discourse about small water power plants, their structural design, mechanical equipment and economical efficiency and its function is to create the basic conception of the waterwork. The second one deals concretely with the small water power plant in Crhov, that was rebuilt from the original mill by Mr. Petr König in 1990s.
Evolutionary engineering of cyanobacteria with respect to PHA accumulation
Vašířová, Kristýna ; Slaninová, Eva (referee) ; Samek, Ota (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to subject selected cyanobacterial strains to adaptive evolution and subsequently investigate the properties of the resulting adapted strains, especially their changes related to polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) accumulation. The theoretical part of the work describes in more detail the issue of cyanobacteria, PHA and their interconnection in the field of evolutionary engineering. Cyanobacterial strains Synechocystis sp 6803 and. Synechocystis salina CCALA 192 were used for evolutionary experiments. Selection pressures of hydrogen peroxide and copper. were applied to selected representatives. The resulting cultures and their ability to accumulate PHA were subsequently assessed by gas chromatography. Both of these selection pressures proved to be unsuitable, as strong growth inhibition was observed after their application to cultures, which did not allow the application of evolutionary engineering methods. In the second half of the experimental part, the provided adapted strains to 6% NaCl were monitored. Adaptation has been shown to have a positive effect on microorganisms, as they have a higher biomass content, better stress resistance and a slight increase in PHA accumulation.
Human Resources Activities in Company
Matějíčková, Barbora ; Martinec, Otakar (referee) ; Franková, Emilie (advisor)
The diploma thesis „Human Resources Activities in Company“ focuses on specification of personnel work in the Jiří Bláha company. Specifies individual human resources activities from a theoretical knowledge and compare it with reality, obtained in the analysis and questionnaire survey. It contains suggestion of trainings and changes that should help to increase the satisfaction of workers and improve the human resources activities.
Selection and Adaptation of Employees in a Selected Company
Fialová, Pavla ; Martina, Strnadová (referee) ; Konečný, Štěpán (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the selection of employees and the adaptation process in the selected company. The theoretical part explains the activities related to the selection and adaptation of employees. Through the analysis of the current situation and the research conducted, suggestions for improvement are recommended in order to improve the functioning of the company.
Kindergarten Adaptation to Contemporary Living
Peciarová, Gabriela ; Juračková, Edita (referee) ; Králová, Zuzana (advisor)
This theses is regarding a proposal of adaptation and extension of an object of an infant school in Pravenec. The object was built in 1963 and it was originally built to serve as a local infant school and creche. It served its original purpose until year 2000 and afterwards was used as a workshop of a textile factory. Since 2010 this object has not been utilised. Adaptation of object includes the alternation of its purpose. Object will be partially re-built and modified in order to be able to serve as a domestic building. There should be three separate housing units created, each with its own entrance. On first level there will be two individual accommodation units. On second level there will be a single apartment designed with an entrance through staircase. Adaptation also includes an overall isolation of the building, exchange of aperture blockage and a new flat roof as current condition of the object does not meet the quality standards.
Adaptation of Speaker Recognition Systems
Novotný, Ondřej ; Pešán, Jan (referee) ; Plchot, Oldřich (advisor)
In this paper, we propose techniques for adaptation of speaker recognition systems. The aim of this work is to create adaptation for Probabilistic Linear Discriminant Analysis. Special attention is given to unsupervised adaptation. Our test shows appropriate clustering techniques for speaker estimation of the identity and estimation of the number of speakers in adaptation dataset. For the test, we are using NIST and Switchboard corpora.
