Results interpretation has shown that profesionals tend to trust in their success and dispose by biggest competition and ambition. The only dimension where amateur cyclists achieved significantly higher values opposite to professionals was in internality. Achievement motivation and time perspective pupil
Stehlíková, Lenka ; Pavelková, Isabella (advisor) ; Škaloudová, Alena (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the concept of time perspective and partly on the concept of achievement motivation of primary school students. The entire text is structured into two parts - theoretical and practical one. The emphasis is mainly put on the practical part and related research. The first part aims at the theoretical concept of achievement motivation and time perspective. The description of the concept of achievement motivation defines the achievement motivation as such, reveals its sources, differentiates between its particular types, presents theoretical assumptions maily set by Atkinson, Heckhausen and shows the diagnostic methods by which it is assessed. The second phenomenon is the time perspective to which the major attention is paid. The description of the time perspective applies the knowledge of the time perception and of the impact of the time perspective on the behaviour and presents Gjemse's concept of the orientation to future. The crucial person for this thesis is the French specialist Joseph Nuttin who deeply analyses the personality-motivational concept of time perspective theory. Moreover we should not forget about the Czech author Isabella Pavelková who also comes with the concept of perspective orientation. The second part focuses on the research conducted in...
Motivational function of educational evaluation
Kubíková, Jitka ; Kolář, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Tvrzová, Ivana (referee)
This thesis is focusing on school evaluation from the point of view of its specifics and functionality in regard to its motivation purpose. The findings regarding evaluation are shown in an independent chapter showing the positive and negative aspects of forms of assessment in practical application. Following chapter dealing with motivation describes needs in relation to school activities as well as brief explanation of causal attribution. More attention is paid to the achievement motivation, especially to characteristics of needs for achievement in relation to pupils' responses to mental stress in task situations. There are briefly mentioned some of the newer motivational theories and their application in school showing the possible modification of outer motivation to autonomy. Widely processed are methods and aspects of evaluation that support motivation and provide pupils with examples for self- assessment. Qualitative research is focused on assessment processes leading to positive motivation. Concluding proposition summarizes several recommendations for teacher in the role of evaluator. Keywords School evaluation, motivation, achievement motivation, self-appraisal.
Autotelic experiences in overcoming ropes courses
Kverka, Václav ; Vomáčko, Ladislav (advisor) ; Turčová, Ivana (referee)
Title: Autotelic experiences in overcoming ropes obstacles. Resource: The purpose of this study was to determine whether and to what extent people experience flow in overcoming ropes obstacles and how their flow is affected by their previous experiences from other sports. Methods: Polling had one hundred and fifty respondents who were regular visitors to the rope sling. Polling was carried out immediately after crossing the rope obstacles using a questionnaire-Flow Kurzskala (FCS). The data obtained were divided into individual files, depending on the hypotheses posed. Using the Student's distribution, it was determined if there is a statistically significant difference in mean values of the individual files and then the related hypothesis was accepted. Results: Carried out testing showed a statistically significant difference in the flow experience in the rope obstacles park in a group of adolescents and adults. Also showed a difference between sportsmen who are engaged in everyday life competition sports and sports oriented on performance, unlike sportsmen doing collective and individual sports where a statistically significant difference in mean values did not show. The assumption of achieving different values in flow of men and women was not proved, as well as the influence of previous...
Flow experience and engagement by task in German lessons
Vaníčková, Monika ; Pavelková, Isabella (advisor) ; High, Radka (referee)
Theoretical part of this theses discussed different types of motivation to learn, the extended cognitive model of motivation, attitudes towards school subjects, issues regarding interest and grades, flow theory and the conceptual model of student engagement and optimal learning environments. In the empirical part was presented a pilot study focused on flow experience and engagement by task in German lessons. This study was realized in one class of a grammar school (n = 28). Questionnaire methods were used and acquired data were of both quantitative and qualitative nature. The aim of the pilot study was (1) to map motivational variables related to engagement and flow in the task situatuon in German lessons and (2) to discover, which contextual characteristics can facilitate student engagement from their point of view. In this study has been investigated the connection between engagement before a task and after it, between engagement and flow in the task and their connection to attitudes towards German lessons, achievement motivation, grades and success in the task, emotions and concentracion. It was discovered a more stable nature of flow and engagement in two consecutive tasks of the same type, but with increasing difficulty. In the pilot study were suggested connections of flow and engagement with...
Diagnostic of Time Perspective in High School Students
High, Radka
This disertation thesis thematize the relationship to the future in high school students' and the diagnostic possibilities of this phenomena. We will describe the philosophical and primarily the psychological conception of time. The diagnostic of time perspective, 2. The description of students'relationship to the future, 3. The investigation of relationship between time perspective and achievement motivation. The analysis of the coding system of the Motivational Induction Method lead to improving this system. There was a battery of tests (quantitative and mixed methodology) used to diagnose the time perspective of students', namely Motivational Induction Method (Nuttin), Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (Zimbardo), Achievement Motivation Questionaire (Hrabal, Pavelková) and Motivational Sources of Learning Activities (Pavelková, Hrabal). The case studies that can show positives and/or negatives of used methods and individual ways of representing the future are presented in the end of the thesis. Key words: time perspective, future time perspective, perspective orientation, achievement motivation,...

ABSTRACT: This dissertation addresses the relationship pupils and students to the future, the relationship between time perspective and achievement motivation. The close relationship between the given issue and volitional qualities of a person is also discussed. The theoretical part concentrates on the scientific views of a person's life time dimension, the relationship between the time perspective and the achievement motivation and the relation of these concepts to the issues of volition. The main emphasis is on cognitive and personality concepts of motivation of the time perspective (Gjesme, Nuttin, Lens, Zimbardo, from Czech publications on the concepts of perspective orientation by Pavelková) and on the traditional works about achievement motivation of Atkinson, Raynor and Heckhausen. In our analysis of the aforementioned theoretical concepts we concentrated primarily on finding overlaps, close relations and continuities within the described systems. The practical part represents a structured research of the time perspective, the achievement motivation and will of primary school pupils and secondary school...
