Analysis of the use of social networks in the government communication of Zuzana Čaputová as the President of the Slovak Republic

The diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of political communication of the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová on selected social networks. The aim of the thesis is to map the characteristic features of communication on individual platforms used by the President in her political communication. Similar or different elements occurring on the platforms will also be captured, while attention will also be paid to the communicated thematic areas themselves. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the definition of the research area, which inevitably presupposes, first of all, a theoretical definition of the concept of political communication and its placement in the context of new media at the same time with the definition of selected trends in the field of modern political communication. Part of the theoretical background is also putting it into context in terms of the role of the President within the Slovak Republic. Comparison of the campaingns of Zuzana Čaputová and Maroš Šefčovič in the second round of the Slovak presidential election in 2019

The assignment focuses on the campaigns of Zuzana Čaputová and Maroš Šefčovič in the Slovak presidential elections in 2019. The main objective is to describe the campaign of both candidates and compare them. Another aim of the assignment is to identify some changes in their communication between the first and the second round of the elections. In the theoretical part, the basic aspects of political marketing are described, because they are very important for the understanding of the subject. This part of the assignment also focuses on the law aspects of presidential function and the elections. The first round of the elections is also described in this part. The main part of the assignment covers the campaigns of the candidates, motivation of the voters and in the end it summarizes what worked in the campaigns.
Fake news during the presidental elections in the Czech Republic 2018 and in Slovakia 2019

Comparative case study consists of 12 chapters and is composed as qualitative research. The main goal of the study is to research the fake news used in chosen set of data, consisting of 13 television debates. The case study works with two cases - the presidential election in the Czech Republic (2018) and in Slovakia (2019). First part of the analysis deals with methodology and theoretical background for fake news and role of television debates in election campaign. Next part is dedicated to the analyzed cases of elections, briefly covering the development of the election campaign followed by analysis. The results of the analysis are summed up in the independent chapter. As the most used fake news themes in given debates the analysis identifies following: migration, negative attitude towards media, questionable funding of the campaign and attempts to influence the elections. The main difference in the cases is the nature of the competition, when the acting president is running for re-election. Comparison of Zuzana Čaputová's media image on the most popular Czech and Slovak news servers in a half year to one year since she was elected Slovak President

In March 2019 the 5th direct presidential elections were held in Slovakia. In the first round there were 13 candidates running for the office. The winner after the second round held on March 30th was Zuzana Čaputová. With 58,4 percent of all valid votes she became the first female president of The Slovak republic on June 15. This thesis goes into the comparison of Zuzana Čaputová's media image since being elected on the most visited news web sites in The Czech republic and Slovakia. The goal of the thesis is to compare the quantity and content of information published in both countries and to track possible changes in the media narrative and what has caused them. Using the quantitative method of content analysis and qualitative method of frame analysis of relevant articles published on news websites Novinky.cz and Aktuality.sk I want to monitor the decline, stagnation or rise of media interest in the persona of Zuzana Čaputová in the selected time period. This will help to describe the media image of the president on the Czech and Slovak media scene. The source articles are attached to the thesis.
