Protecting hospitals from terrorism
KLEČKOVÁ, Anna
Abstract The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the security of selected medical facilities (hospitals), their experience with terrorist and cyber-terrorist attacks and the analysis of differences in the threat and security of medical facilities in the Czech Republic and selected countries. To fulfil the first goal of the work and to answer research questions, a quantitative research was conducted using a questionnaire survey, and to fulfil the second goal, a qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews with employees of medical facilities who have experience from foreign internships/missions in health care in selected countries was conducted. The data obtained from the research and the survey were evaluated using graphs and graphical representations. Based on the evaluation of the obtained data, it can be stated that in most medical facilities (hospitals) the entrance is not secured, there are no security check door frames and the entrance for employees is not separated or secured. Most hospitals do not provide training, employees are not familiar with counter-terrorism measures, but most respondents would welcome terrorism response training. From the semi-structured interviews, it was found that the level of security is individual for each state, depending on the current situation. In most countries, employees are not trained to respond to terrorism. The threat to the medical facility in other countries was in most cases more severe than in the Czech Republic. Most respondents perceive differences in hospital security and think that some security features used elsewhere are applicable in the Czech Republic. These aspects are further discussed and compared with foreign research. Furthermore, other research possibilities, weaknesses in hospital protection and recommendations for practise are also outlined. The conclusions resulting from the diploma thesis can be used to improve the means of protecting hospitals from terrorism.

The work of a nurse on the abroad mission
ŠATROVÁ, Lenka
Now a days nurses can work not only in health institutions but they can get involved in abroad missions. In the Czech Republic there are several organizations which offer humanitarian help in the countries of the third world. The concept of the bachelor thesis is theoretical - empiric. The theoretical part is devided into some parts. The first part is about globalization and about migration of people. Then there is written about religion and about individual humanitarian organizations. The other chapter points to the role of the nurse in the past and now a days. The last part of theoretical work contains demands that you must fulfil before your abroad mission. Then there is written about diseases which you can meet during treatment on the abroad mission. The second part of the bachelor thesis is a research survey. The aim of the work was to find what the nurse must do on the abroad mission in individual organizations. Three research questions have been identified to achieve the goal. What is the preparation of the nurse before leaving? What is the specific of her work on her abroad mission? What is the experience of nurses on the abroad mission? In the empiric part of the thesis a method of qualitative research surney. Responses were obtained through a pre-prepared semi-structured interview with nurses who took part in some abroad missions. From the researching results follows, that the main aim of the nurse on the abroad mission is to treat wounded persons during the war conflicts. But she must take care of expectant mothers and new born babies too. She looks after inhabitants who didnt't have enough money to pay their medical treatment in the hospital. She educates local health personnel to give a specialist health treatment to sick persons. The results can help students and nurses to know their possibilities to go to the abroad missions with the humanitarian organization.

Problems of resocialization of soldiers after missions
KUNČOVÁ, Adéla
This Master's thesis called Problems of resocialization of soldiers returning back from deployments offers an insight into the problems of soldiers of the Army of the Czech Republic. It deals with the integration of soldiers into society after their tour of duty. Soldiers are exposed to stressful situations during their deployments. Similarly, the deployment is demanding for a soldier's family. That is why soldiers can face problems during resocialization after coming back from deployments. The thesis is divided into several parts. The theoretical part deals with the history and the present of the Army of the Czech Republic deployments, the public's view of deployments, the training of soldiers before deployments. Next chapter deals with motivational factors of a soldier, what the requirements and duties of the soldier are and what the care of the soldier is prior, during and after deployment. It defines what a deployment is all about, what stress, trauma, and post traumatic stress disorder are. It then describes interpersonal relationships in a deployed soldier's environment and the deployed soldier's family, and specifies the resocialization of a deployed soldier. The aim of the thesis was to find out whether the resocialization of a professional soldier after coming back from deployment is problematic. One research question was raised: What are the problems of resocialization of a soldier after coming back from deployment? The sample of the study consisted of 9 communication partners, including 6 men and 3 women. All communication partners were ACR soldiers. The sample was selected using the snowball method. The prerequisite was at least one deployment. The qualitative research strategy was chosen to achieve the goal of this thesis. Semi-structured interviews were used as data source. The interviews were written down and then analyzed using open and axial coding. The research has shown that each soldier needs a different time to adapt to everyday life. The biggest problem was the return to the family, especially to the children. More problems arise after returning from a combat zone such as a response to noise and alertness. It was also found that soldiers would appreciate the possibility of longer leave after returning from deployment and positive reception by the public. None of the soldiers needed professional assistance after returning from deployment. The thesis could be beneficial to military psychologists, chaplains, and commanders. It could serve as a focus on preventing problems after returning from deployments. It can also provide information on the ACR and deployments to lay and professional public.
