Project-based Learning in the Current Conception of Teaching German as a Foreign Language

This diploma thesis deals with trends in German language teaching, focusing on project-based learning. The theoretical part deals with the description of German language in the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and with theoretical background of project-based learning. The thesis then focuses on four main parts of a project: planning, realisation, presentation and evaluation. The main aim of the practical part is to prepare a draft of a project for a German language class, which is to be put into practice at elementary school. Based on two surveys filled in by the participants of the project, the practical part compares the opinions of pupils on the project-based learning compared to the traditional way of teaching. It also focuses on the motivational aspect which should be brought about by projects. The solving of inquiry tasks by students of primary school

Diploma thesis analyzes pupils' ability to solve inquiry based tasks in biology lessons with regard to original problem solutions and application of theoretical knowledge. The thesis also analyzes in what types of tasks are pupils more successful and what type of problem solution they prefer. The practical part contains four worksheets with inquiry based tasks, which were created and presented to primary school pupils for the purposes of this thesis. The next part of the thesis is a summary of pupils' solutions, which are discussed at the end of the thesis.
The use of literary education in pedagogy of leisure time

The thesis deals with possibilities of using literary text under the pedagogy of leisure time when mainly working with children in the elementary school. The theoretical part deals with key concepts of the research particularly in literary education, literary text, choice of text and literary education in leisure time. This part presents also the suitable methodical procedures when working with literary text in the school environment and leisure time activities focused on achieving esthetical experiences and development of key competencies. The practical part includes characteristics of chosen standard and activating educational methods. These methods represent the practical side of specific examples of children's and youth literature. The other part of thesis is also anthology of literary works, which can be used by leisure time teachers in educational process.

Aim of this thesis is to describe which teaching methods are used during classes of civic education at elementary schools and social sciences at high schools.
Tandem Method in Teaching Czech as Foreign Language

The diploma thesis deals with tandem method in teaching Czech as a foreign language. It is a language learning in pairs or in a small group of students with different mother languages. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part social, didactic and lingvodidactic ways out of tandem method are described and we also specified the method. The summary of examples of the successful application of the method abroad and in the Czech Republic points to other possibilities of its utilization in our country. We organized lessons with using tandem method to do research. A questionnaire survey was used to obtain data. Basic benefits and limits of the method were found based on the data collection. For those interested in the method we form lingvodidactic recommendation for application of the method in teaching. We also propose the specific practical areas in which the method can be used. Using of activating teaching methods in the teaching subject of Health Education

ABSTRACT: The diploma thesis deals with the use of activating teaching methods in health education lessons. In its theoretical part, the thesis defines the concept of the teaching method, draws attention to the function of teaching methods in class, and presents a classification of methods of individual authors while providing a deeper insight into the activating methods that are first introduced in the historical context and then attention is paid to their benefits as well as drawbacks, the positive contribution of these methods in the educational process and, last but not least, the activating teaching methods are compared with the traditional methods. Comparison of effectiveness of teaching using computers vs. 3D models

Currently, pupils' interest in science continues to decline, although this area of education is very important in every day life (medicine, environment, etc.) and there is high demand for science professions on the labor market. Molecular biology curriculum concerning DNA and the transfer of genetic information is abstract and difficult topic for pupils to imagine, and for teachers to explain. There are many ways to teach this topic. Very popular are iquiry and laboratory practise. But not all schools have their own laboratories, and can teach molecular practical effectivelly. Inquiry based teaching is time consuming to prepare, and not every topic is appropriate to be taught this way. Another possibilities how to visualize "invisible" molecules and processes are computer software and animations or 3D physical model. In my thesis, I examined the effect of using computers and animations to teach abou DNA compared to using a 3D physical model on students' knowledge. I laso tested the possible influence of gender and pupils' preferences on their achieved score on knowledge tests. The research was performed in five classes at three high schools in Prague. How Elementary Teachers Think About Drama in Education

The bachelor thesis deals with the teachers in the primary schools thinking about the dramatic education. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the teachers think about the dramatic education, its goals, instruments and formative influence. The final thesis is divided into two parts - the theoretical and practical ones. The theoretical part explains basic terms: drama, education, dramatic education - goals, principles, methods and techniques. The information for this part is taken from Czech and foreign sources. The research which has been realised is described in the practical part. It contains searching for respondents, results and the interpretation. Three groups have been addressed by the medium of answer sheet(s): the first group are teachers who give lessons on dramatic education; the second group are teachers who use techniques and methods of dramatic education in their subjects and the third group is formed by headmasters who decide about inclusion dramatic education into the teaching process. Superlearning

This specialized thesis is dedicated to the subject of superlearning. Its main objectives are clearly organized and meaningful completion of the present knowing of the given question and mediation of information about possible use of so-called right- -hemisphere didactic methods and systems in language teaching in the Czech Republic. The thesis is composed of four main chapters. Superlearning is very often ranked among the didactic methods. The first chapter is dedicated to them. But superlearning is the special didactic system, it is said and explained in the second chapter. Its parts are also clarifying of relation with suggestopaedia and description of their common principles. The penultimate chapter treats of the phases of the group tuition of superlearning, superlearning as a way of self education and the method of language teaching called DME, which exploits the effective tenets of superlearning. The subject of the fourth chapter is the use of so-called right-hemisphere didactic methods and systems in language teaching in Czech practice. Activating methods in music education at the elementary music school

The diploma thesis explores activating methods in music education at elementary music schools. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the description and the issue of activating methods and also focuses on methods suitable for teaching music subjects at elementary music school in the classes of collective and individual lessons. The practical part deals with the purposefulness of the use of activating methods with emphasis to the support of creativity and coordination in lessons of music education. The diploma thesis uses the questionnaire method in various modifications and the method of observation. The aim of the presented diploma work is to describe the activating teaching methods and to focus on these suitable for teaching music subjects at elementary music schools in the classes of collective and individual lessons. The aim of the practical part of the diploma thesis is to find out whether the activating teaching methods are used in education at elementary music schools and how they are evaluated and accepted by teachers and pupils.
