Identification of Relevant Tire Traces in Traffic Accident Place Based on their physical characteristics
Bilík, Martin ; Kovanda, Jan (referee) ; Kledus, Robert (referee) ; Bradáč, Albert (advisor)
The thesis deals with the possibilities of identifying the relevant tire traces at the place of a traffic accident based on their physical characteristics. Braking traces on the road are one of the most important objective elements for accident analysis, their easy and accurate detection is very important for accurate accident assessment. With the increasing technical equipment of vehicles, especially with the introduction of newer generations of braking assistance systems, traces left by the tires become almost invisible to the human eye. It is therefore highly desirable that their detection should be not only as accurate as possible but also as easy and fast as possible, not only for forensic experts, but especially for members of the traffic police departments. In line with the development and introduction of new safety and assistance systems for vehicles should also be the development of means and methods of providing the basis for technical analysis of traffic accidents. Reality shows that the procedures, even if still functional, are practically identical for several decades, are dependent on the subjective capabilities of the documenting person. An essential element of the work, compared to the previously described measurement procedures, is the use of modern methods and devices at the highest known level of knowledge. The aim is to find and verify a simple, accurate, subjectively least influenced detecting method for tire traces on the road. A series of measurements confirmed the possibility of using the thermal camera at the technical level usually available at the place of the accident, under limited atmospheric and time conditions. In addition, laser-induced plasma spectroscopy and rLIBS were used. This method of detecting spotless tire treads can be marked as a minimally feasible documentary and at the same time as fast enough, based on the measurements made and the intended removal of defects of the instrument in the development phase of the prototype.
Design of equipment for measuring aerodynamically relevant parameters of passenger car tire
Kojecký, René ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Vančura, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of measuring tire parameters and their impact on vehicle aerodynamics. The aim is to create a design of the tire test equipment together with a suitable method for evaluating obtained results. The theoretical part provides an overview of currently used tire testing methods. The market research follows in order to select suitable components for the proposed measuring station. The output of the practical part of the work is the assembly of the solver in the form of a Matlab script and a design with the necessary drawing documentation.
Rallye Championships and Used Engineering Including WRC Series
Novák, Pavel ; Porteš, Petr (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
The content of the bachelor thesis is an overview of the current condition of technics used in the car racing competitions focused on the WRC serial. The thesis is diveded into five parts. The first part introduces the contemporary car competitions and FIA federation. The second part is focused on specification of the WRC cars. The third part familiarizes with the organization process of the WRC championship. There are introduced crews with their teams and their results in the constructor cup. The main attention is given to the parts four and five which deal with the contemporary engineering used in WRC and the development trends in this field. There are given methods of virtual designing, computer simulation and testing. In the conclusion of the thesis there are mentioned examples of WRC car development and solutions assumed for the serial cars from the WRC technics.
Design of Formula Student chassis
Zubíček, David ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with comparison of different types of tyres destined for Formula Student vehicle. Comparison is from view of chosen characteristics and from view of simulations for one lap. Thesis deals with kinematics design of suspension according to chosen tyre and according to improvement of car ability of monopost Dragon 6
The Influence of the Parameters and Properties of Tyres on the Driving Dynamics of Vehicles
Toufar, Pavel ; Krejčíř, Pavel (referee) ; Panáček, Vladimír (advisor)
The main aim of this diploma thesis is to deal with the influence of tire properties and parameters of driving dynamics. In the introduction are discussed the driving dynamics of vehicles and the importance of tires and their construction. The second part is devoted to implementation and evaluation of the own experiment. My experiment is to test the braking tire inflation and condition of various different sizes. The conclusion summarizes the importance of proper tire condition.
Design of mold segment for molding tires manufactured using Selective Laser Melting
Kvaššay, Adrián ; Maňas, Pavel (referee) ; Rapant, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with development and design modifications of tire mould segment which will be batch produced by additive technology Selective Laser Melting. Material for its production is maraging steel 1.2709. Lattice structure was used inside the segment construction. The geometry of the lattice cell was chose based on two main factors – eliminating production costs and providing sufficient stiffness. Strength of the segment was calculated by FEM. The functional sample was made and its distortion was analyzed by optical digitalization.
Mathematical models of tires
Straka, Tomáš ; Porteš, Petr (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
This master‘s thesis describes problematics of mathematical models of tires for computer simulations. The goal of this thesis is to depict currently used models of tires and to compare them. Thesis describes brush type models, Fiala, Magic Formula (Pacejka), FTire, UA-Gim, 521 and DELFT. Those models are compared to each other by simulations carried out in software MSC ADAMS Car. The results are shown in figures with commentary and evaluation. This thesis serves as introduction to problematics of currently used mathematical models of tire in computer simulations.
Run-Flat Tyres for Passenger Cars
Ondák, Lukáš ; Vančura, Jan (referee) ; Hejtmánek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis, based on search, describes construction, distribution and marking of conventional tires in the first time. In the second, key part, it provides a reader summary of various types of run flat tires, describes their advantages and disadvantages, and compares them to a conventional tire.
Current situation of research into interaction of tire with surface
Kleger, Ondřej ; Kašpárek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Pokorný, Jan (advisor)
Modeling and simulation belong to very important tools used in automotive industry of present days. Simulation forms basis for both – new vehicle development and also improvement of vehicles already in production. A key role of simulation may be seen in the development of vehicle active safety features such as “Anti-Block System” (ABS), “Anti-Slip Regulation” (ASR), “Electronic Stability Program” (ESP) etc. As a common feature, all of the listed systems require accurate simulation of the interaction between the tire and the road surface. Thanks to simulation tools we can model driving situations and behavior of the whole system so that it nearly mimics real behavior of the vehicle on the road. Nevertheless; despite continuously increasing accuracy of the simulation tools, a development process still cannot be completed without real tests and measurements on tires and road surface characteristics.
