Corporate culture of Japanese companies in the Czech Republic
Kristeľová, Eva ; Müllerová, Františka (advisor) ; Neuwirthová, Magda (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the description of corporate cultures that are present in some of the Japanese companies found in the Czech Republic. The thesis is imaginarily divided into two parts. In the theoretical part the reader becomes familiar with the terms such as culture, corporate and organisational culture. It is largely influenced by a piece of work of Geert Hofstede and his perception of individual cultural dimensions. Moreover, it pays attention to the necessity of organisation within the company and to the description of characteristic features of the Japanese corporate culture and human resource management. Last, but not least it clarifies to the reader the business relations held between Japan and the Czech Republic. The aim of the practical part is to analyse the interviews with the representatives of individual companies differing significantly in their size, image and determinants of their particular corporate culture. It more precisely concerns the factors such as organisation technique, corporate structure, management and specific methods, procedures.
Problémy aplikace japonského managementu v ČR
Jankotová, Petra ; Dvořák, Jiří (advisor) ; Štrach, Pavel (referee)
This graduation thesis' aim is to help reader realize and understand what makes Japanese companies, especially Japanese management style, so successful and competitive and what problems (challenges) may occur while applying the Japanese managerial techniques in the Czech Republic. Companies teaching and implementing Japanese managerial style were found and evaluated. While giving background information on Japanese economy and manners, basic description of chosen Japanese managerial techniques as well as examples of their usage in companies, the main idea is to find out what the prerequisites of successful implementation of Japanese managerial techniques are, how techniques can be implemented and consecutively describe possible obstacles at the application of the Japanese management in the companies outside Japan. The reason for looking for the prerequisites of successful implementation is the thought that not only managerial techniques themselves (their "technical side") are the key for success. It is also, and very importantly, the way how they are used. It is knowledge what "forces" are driving the success of the techniques. Therefore, in order to understand what the Japanese managerial techniques are and who the people developing and using them are about, I step by step gathered related information and in a summarized form wrote them in this thesis. Analyzing the information I was able to conclude that there are three prerequisites for successful implementation of Japanese managerial techniques. It is firstly a technical side of managerial techniques itself, secondly it is a psychological aspect (learning Japanese management also means learning pieces of Japanese culture and manners and only if that culture is understood and applied, techniques can show they full potential) and thirdly it is hard working.
Evaluation of the localization TPCA in Kolín
Bačíková, Monika ; Macháček, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Damborský, Milan (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on an evaluation of the influence of a car factory, TPCA, as a generator of regional growth in Kolín. Localization of TPCA, besides Kolín, has brought many positives in the Ovčáry village that would otherwise have not occurred. However, this has caused enormous indebtedness within the town of Kolín. The beginning of the economic crisis, which caused a general slowdown within the car market, had a paradoxically beneficial effect for the TPCA. Localization is evaluated from a regional perspective. The theoretical section provides the basic approaches to regional location, which are closely related to the procedure adopted by TPCA. For completeness, the state of the automotive industry of the Czech Republic is also given. The influence of the TPCA is captured in the economic, environmental and social scale. For comparison purposes, the method of the localization and production of the newest automobile company in the Czech Republic, HMMC in the Nošovice near the Frýdek-Místek, is also included.
