New euro area member states: actual advancement and pespectives

The aim of this graduation theses is an evaluation of the economic advancement of the last five euro area countries, i.e. Slovenia, Cyprus, Malta, Slovakia and Estonia, in the context of the decaying world's economic crisis and adumbration the possible perspectives of their next economic advancement. The thesis is structured into five chapters (according to countries), whereas the structure is always the same - introductory subchapter evaluates the way to euro area by convergence reports of EC and ECB, the second one predicates current economic advancement by chosen economic indicators from Eurostat and the last one implies expected advancement by EC Autumn forecast 2010.
Evaluation of impact of common European currency adoption in Slovakia and Slovenia

The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the influence of euro as a common currency on Slovakia and Slovenia. As the base of final analysis of advantages and disadvantages serves first part of thesis, which portrays real and nominal convergence of both analyzed counties and criteria of optimum currency area. Economic situation after adoption of euro is examined in the field of international trade, foreign direct investment, economic growth and competitiveness. In order to examine the impact of euro more thoroughly are both counties compared with Czech Republic. Conclusion of thesis contains quantification and evaluation of positive and negative effect of euro.
The European Union and phenomenon of migration - Slovenian case

On the beginning of the diploma thesis the student will deal with the issue of migration in general terms, brief explanation of basic terms also from the internatioal law point of view will be presented. Diploma thesis first addresses the phenomenon of migration in general, briefly explains the basic concepts and typology. After this theoretical definition the focus shifts to more practical plane, focusing on selected global migration trends that are currently taking place within the European Union, and approaches to international law on immigration issue, including the European Union's attempt to create a common asylum and migration policy . The final part of the thesis is essentially an analytical study of migration issues on the territory of Slovenia, a relatively prospective member of the European Union with {\clq}qBalkan" history, and his position due to the shaping of their own at first, then Europe's asylum and migration policy.

Palaeomagnetic method was used for a study of sedimentary fill of caves in different geological and geomorphological units of Slovenia. Sedimentary fills are substantially older than expected. The origin of cave spaces is older than 1.1 Ma.
Rentgenově difrakční analýzy vzorků z výplní jeskyní ve Slovinsku

Totally 85 X-ray diffraction patterns were performed from 21 samples of cave sediments from various caves in Slovenia. The most interesting are samples Nos. 15 and 16 composed nearly completely by smectite. Randomly interestratified structure of chlorite (60 %) and smectite (40 %) was identified in samples Nos. 9 and 10. Admixtures of magnetite (No. 4), haematite (Nos. 4, 13), goethite, (No. 14) and boehmite (No 13) were recorded in some samples. Phyllosilicates are mostly represented by chlorite, mica, micaceous mineral (illite?), in lesser extent by kaolinite and in one sample probably by vermiculite (No. 11). Quartz and sometimes calcite represent prevailing minerals. Feldspar (mostly plagioclase) is common constituent, nevertheless in lesser amounts. One sample (No. 11) contained amphibole.
Slovenia in the EU

Slovenia gained its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. Its main goal was to become a member of the European Union, which was achieved in 2004. As the first of the new member countries it adopted the euro as its currency on 1 January 2007 and in the first half of 2008, Slovenia held the Presidency of the EU. The aim of this work is to describe the economic development of Slovenia (both as a part of Yugoslavia and after gaining its independence), specifics of accession negotiations with the EU and conditions of the Treaty of Accession. The work also includes the case study of Slovenian firm Gorenje Group. This company can be given as an example of successful expansion of Slovenian firm in the EU internal market.
The Significance of Slovenian Spa Tourism – Comparison with Czech Republic

The thesis concentrates on characteristics os Slovenian balneology and its comparison with spa tourism in the Czech Republic. It comes out of a hypothesis that balneology of both states has a similar tradition. The European spa tourism is identified as a health tourism on our continent. The thesis includes definition of basic ideas of balneology, health tourism and approaching Slovenia as a tourist destination. The second part concentrates on characteristics of Slovenian balneology, conditions of offering spa treatment and statistics of Slovenian balneology. It shortely depicts 15 Slovenian health resorts which are certified by the state. The comparison with Czech republic is based on table system. Firstly, the compared data are put for the Czech Republik, secondly there is the comparison with Slovenia.
Package tour to Slovenia (outgoing tourism)

Tour operators are in charge of creating and organising package tours for those who are interested in travelling and exploring new places. Such organising package tour is a process of several actions such as booking accomodation, transport, composing tour schedule etc. The main aim of this project is to create such package tour to Slovenia that will be able to compete with other package tours similar to this one and to extend the supply of package tours to Slovenia in the market. Package tour to Slovenia in this project is primarily focused on slight hiking combined with exploring new places and getting to know cultural, historical and natural attractions of this country, which has a great potential in developing tourism and has many things to offer. People who take part in this package tour will admire beauties of nature in Triglav national park, Bled and its surroundings and Bohinj. Further they will visit stud farm in Lipica, Postojna and Skocjan caves, Ljubljana, coastal towns Piran and Portorose and many other places that are worth seeing.
Současný ekonomický vývoj Česka, Maďarska, Polska, Slovenska a Slovinska

This diploma thesis interprets processes of contemporary economic development in Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, whereas it is focused on the comparision of selected macroeconomic indicators and at the same time some main factors, which significantly influence the economic development in the area, are highlighted. According to the diploma thesis structure - chosen geographical, demographic, social and regional attributes are identified at first. Afterwards a brief view of transformation process to the free market economies leads to the chronologically organized characteristics of an economic development in the territory. The period of a primary interest begins with a phase 2003-2007 while the year 2008 and predictions of an on-coming development are discussed separately. The very last chapter recapitulates a progress in the euro adoption process and then examines an actual convergence criteria fulfilling in countries, which the euro currency haven't adopted (until 1. 1. 2009) yet.
