Implementation Barriers and Facilitators in Suicide Prevention Interventions: Implementation Analysis Optics
Kasal, Alexandr ; Nekola, Martin (advisor) ; Dragomirecká, Eva (referee) ; Čermáková, Pavla (referee)
Introduction: This dissertation addresses the issue of implementation barriers and facilitators of suicide prevention measures in the context of the field of public and social policy. Implementation barriers and facilitators can be identified across the whole implementation process. This paper seeks to identify them in published scientific studies and contextualize them for the Czech environment through expert group interview. The thesis uses two theoretical frameworks, the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) and the Conceptual Framework for Implementation Analysis (CFIA). The thesis simultaneously questions the suitability of these frameworks to achieve the aforementioned objectives and the possibility of synthesising these frameworks. Methods: Systematic literature review and group expert interview were conducted. The thesis applies the frameworks mentioned above to structure the results, with the CFIA serving as a supporting framework to categorize the results of the group expert interview that could not be assigned to the CFIR framework. Results: 63 relevant studies containing 239 implementation barriers and 405 implementation facilitators were identified through a systematic review. These were unevenly distributed across CFIR domains and constructs. In total, thirteen...
Economic factors influencing suicide rate
Shoup, Šárka ; Šubrt, Jiří (advisor) ; Vávra, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis is devoted to the study of suicide in the Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia). This thesis emphasizes the boom stage of the second half of the 1920s and the economic crisis of the first half of the 1930s and the financial crisis after 2008 and the economic boom after 2015. These two stages are important due to classical crises and booms that occurred in the market economy era. The methodology of the diploma thesis is based on selected theoretical concepts that deal with the influence factors have on suicide rates. Their subsequent application to the stages of the mentioned booms and crises in the selected periods shows their relevance for explaining this researched phenomenon in the given country. This work aims to evaluate the current state of research and find the most suitable methods and indicators that will be subjected to empirical testing using the analysis of selected stages in the author's thesis. The theoretical part presents how the topic developed during the 19th and 20th centuries. The analytical part proves the validity of the theoretical concepts; which examine the extent to which there is a connection between the suicide rate and chosen factors in the observed periods. The author thus uses empirical evidence in the diploma thesis to verify the validity of...
Hope and it's absence in the eyes of suicide attempts
PŘEVRÁTILOVÁ, Jana
The bachelors thesis is concerned with hopefulness and hopelessness in the context of suicide attempts. The theoretical part focuses on describing suicides and suicide attempts, motives and theories of suicides and the main part is dedicated to hopelessness and hopefulness and their change from before and after the last suicide attempt. The practical part is based on qualitative research with five in-depth half-structured interviews, which were realized with five women that attempted once or more times since between one to five years ago. The goal of the research is to map individual experiences of respondents, especially with the focus on hopefulness and hopelessness. The data have been processed with a case study to better understand the feelings of hopefulness and hopelessness and their change.

Sylvia Plath and her work from the perspective of psychobiography
Zachová, Jana ; Kučera, Miloš (advisor) ; Viktorová, Ida (referee)
The goal of my bachelor's thesis is to analyse the relationship between Sylvia Plath's biography and her work, focusing on the so-called confidence poems, especially in the question of her relationship with her father, using the principles of psychobiography. The first part of the thesis focuses on the concepts of psychobiography as conceived by William T. Schultz and the psychology of artistic literature. The thesis also includes a brief biography of Sylvia Plath, an introduction of confessional poetry, and a short survey of the author's work. The primary sources I work with in this thesis are Plath's artwork and her journals. In this thesis I also present three different studies that have previously focused on Sylvia Plath's work and life. For the purpose of this thesis, I have chosen the poem Daddy, one of Sylvia Plath's most famous poems, which I discuss and analyse in detail in the thesis. I will interpret the findings psychologically, primarily using a psychoanalytic perspective. Finally, I compare my findings with the biography of the subject under study. KEYWORDS psychobiography; psychoanalysis; suicide; Sylvia Plath; relationship with father; poetry
The death of Jan Masaryk in the periodical press
Šatná, Barbora ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Osvaldová, Barbora (referee)
The bachelor's thesis "The Death of Jan Masaryk" in the periodical press deals with how selected media reported on the person and death of Jan Masaryk in the period from February 25 to March 31, 1948. Specifically, these are the dailies Rudé právo and Svobodné noviny (known as Lidové noviny) . But first, he deals with the person and important events in the life of Jan Masaryk. Subsequently, it presents a brief history of both dailies. He then deals with the analysis of articles in both periodicals. The researched texts could be divided into two periods: first, before Masaryk's death and the second, the days after his death. In the first period, the dailies did not pay much attention to Jan Masaryk. They rarely wrote about him, mostly in connection with forming a new government, of which he became a member. In the second period, the number of texts mentioning his name grew significantly. The most common topic was Masaryk's funeral, first its organization, then its course and Masaryk's interview for the French daily L'ordre, from which both dailies quoted very often. At that time, it was a turning point in Czechoslovakia when non-communist ministers resigned, and Klement Gottwald began to form a government in which the Communists prevailed. At that time, the Communists also controlled print media...
