Life of Cardinal Miloslav Vlk until 1989

This bachelor thesis deals with the life of cardinal Miloslav Vlk to the year 1989 in the context of the political and social situation in totalitarian Czechoslovakia. The main aim of the thesis is to chronologically document the development and formation of Miloslav Vlk's values and attitudes from his childhood, his studies at the grammar school, to his graduation from the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University and the priest seminary. His work at the Bishopric of České Budějovice, his administration of the parishes of Lažiště and Starý Rožmitál, and even his window cleaning at the state-owned company ÚKLID in Prague and then his return to priestly administration are also depicted. This theses permeated Vlk's life to the year 1989, when he was finally granted state approval to exercise clerical aktivity, and could thus officially carry out what he was, in his own words, destined to do. On the basis of interviews with parishioners and friends of the cardinal, the work presents in detail the period of his priestly activity in Rožmitál pod Třemšínem in confrontation with the building plans and party views of the newly elected chairman of the town's national committee, Jiří Plachý. Combined methods Remediation of groundwater by combination of sodium lactate and zero valent nanoiron

Vojtěch Stejskal - Diplomová práce 2014 - Přírodovědecká fakulta UK v Praze 4 ABSTRACT The thesis describes pilot applications of combined method - combination of sodium lactate and nanoparticles of zero-valent iron and their synergic effect. Two applications of combined method are described onto two geologically different sites - in Rožmitál pod Třemšínem and Spolchemie in Ústí nad Labem. First site is contaminated by polychlorinated biphenyls; contamination is situated in hydraulically well conducted porous media formed by weathered granodiorite. Main contaminants of Spolchemie site are trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene, contamination is situated in geologically heterogenous quaternary terrace of Bílina river. Effects of combined method on two different sites were compared and recommendations and conclusions were done. Part of the thesis is research of scientific articles and literature on topics: polychlorinated biphenyls, chlorinated ethylenes, in situ chemical reduction by sodium lactate and nanoiron, natural conditions of both sites, history of sites. In the thesis are also processed and evaluated results of geophysical investigation, changes of groundwater level and results of groundwater monitoring in view of the application of combined method on both sites.

The analysis of culture and leisure activities funding in the Union of villages of the microregion Třemšín, in particular the city of Rožmitál pod Třemšínem

The thesis is devoted to the problems of funding cultural heritage, cultural institutions and activities, including leisure activities in the Union of villages of the microregion Třemšín with a special focus on the city Rožmitál pod Třemšínem. It analyses funding resources and possibilities for future development in this area. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to culture and its financing. Following that it outlines the funding structure of the thematic programs in the area of culture and leisure activities. Based on the analysis of the region from a cultural point of view, the practical part offers specific proposals determining which direction the local government and other local parties should achieve more efficient development of the region. The conclusion of the work is formed by a possible proposal for a specific project, which would support the cultural and leisure attraction of the city of Rožmitál pod Třemšínem.
