Roman spa and sauna world

The building of Roman Baths and sauna world forms, along with a formerly-designed waterpark, a stand-alone recreational and sports compound in the vicinity of “Růžena's” quarry and the former “Hády” quarry in Brno. The mass of the object is nearly cubic, and in the cross direction it is complemented with an external atrium, with swimming pools situated next to the central glass-fronted part of the object. This bright space functions as a place of relaxation and offers a view of the city of Brno. The view and solar energy have been used in the south-western part as well, where a two-floor glass front has been designed. On the facades of the object there are narrow vertical windows which create an effect of dripping water. The primary architectonic plan has been to create an object offering relaxation, originated in the principles and traditions of Ancient Roman bathing, complemented with a sauna world and further related relaxation establishments.
Water park Brno

The subject matter of the assigned project is Aquapark Brno – located near Lužánky. The subject is an architectural study elaboration of an aquapark adjoining the current swimming pool building which was established in 1979. This building facility is used primarily by professional swimmers and sportsmen for it contains the only 50 meters long swimming pool with a tribune in Brno. The aim of the project is to create new areas and pools for visitors with recreational intentions and therefore to widen the possibilities for free time activities. The project also deals with restoration of a 16 meters long training pool in the existing building, creation of inner and outer aquapark areas and adding exercise and dance halls as an extension to the existing fitness center. Another goal of this project was to make the pedestrian access to the area more pleasant which is achieved by creating an underground parking space in the area of the existing building’s frontal space and also by designing a footpath leading from the remote side of the excessively frequented Sportovní street. The primary aim of the project is an operational connection of the existing and the new building by a central building and also preventing an eclipse of the area by integrating the building in the area’s hillside. The advantage of the project is the presence of relaxation facilities and sports areas. The project completes the sporting environment of the area which makes it an attractive locality for a family recreation.

The chair is designed for people who need their own peaceful space to hide and relax. The chair is put together with pentagonal shapes which ergonomically houses the human body. The geometrical structure allows the user to feel protected and cosy, almost immune to the outside world. The chair is made of oak wood and it fits for busy hotels, airports, offices and libraries.

Alpha activity monitor

This work deals with problems of EEG biofeedback and possibilities of its use in therapy. The method of EEG biofeedback helps patients to achieve the state of relaxation. It is a noninvasive treatment modality. The paper also discussed the requirements for each component unit. The main point of a design and construction of Alpha activity monitor, a device implementing EEG biofeedback focused on sensing electrical activity of the brain, specifically alpha waves. Alpha activity is specific and their parameters are taken into account when selecting components and construction equipment. Custom feedback is then for the appearance of alpha activity mediated by the headphones in acoustic form. The work also includes design of electrical circuits and electrical diagram of the overall apparatus including a list of used parts. Electrical diagrams are formed in the EAGLE 6.1.0.

The thesis deals with a topic of virtual relaxation and the contrast between idealized landscape and everyday reality. The theme of landscape compensation is very comprehensive and widely interacts with and impacts on psychological and cultural levels. For example, when images of nature represent a place of denied primary purity or the unreachable paradise. I draw my inspiration from YouTube channel phenomenon of relaxation videos which depict several hours’ long static views of the ideal landscape with authentic sound in the background. The aim of the work is to prepare a happening with a video recording, when the absurdly long journey in search of the ideal will not be transferable.
Shear stress relaxation of bituminous binders in DSR

The thesis describes the relaxation properties of bituminous binders determined in dynamic shear rheometer (DSR). Paving bitumen, polymer modified bitumen (PMB) and crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRmB) were chosen for comparison. In order to describe the effects of ageing on asphalt binders relaxation properties, the laboratory simulation of ageing using RTFOT and 3xRTFOT method was performed. For each binder were simultaneously conducted tests of needle penetration, softening point and elastic recovery. Selected bitumens were used for the production of asphalt mixtures. The low-temperature properties tests (TSRST) were performed for these mixtures, when the results were compared to the relaxation properties of binders determined in the DSR.
Analysis of composite system with different filler ratio

This master’s thesis applies dielectric relaxation spectroscopy to analyse impact of climatic changes on dielectric properties of composite material samples (TSA 220S varnish combined with 60.030 mica). Experiments aim to analyse effect of mica composite mass ratio (0, 4, 8 and 16 % of mica), relative humidity (0, 33, 55, 65, 75 and 95 %) and temperature (23, 30, 40 and 50 C) on complex permitivity as a function of frequency.
Water park Brno

Diploma thesis Aquapark Brno is directly connected with the previous specialist course "Sports Center Za Lužánkami Brno". This project dealt was focused on overall concept, architectural and urban study of this area with an emphasis on sports, recreation and relaxation. There was created a zone of predominantly professional sport in the southern part of this area. There were built football and ice hockey stadiums on the newly created terrace/platform. These stadiums are located approximately in the same places as their current (football) or non-existent (hockey) predecessors. The terrace/platform (parking is located under the terrace) continues, and the newly expanded Boby Hotel follows the recreational sports zone with an Aquapark and outdoor sports grounds located behind the existing Tesco shopping centre. There is formed a new park in north of the sports grounds forming a recreational-relaxation zone on the territory of Planýrka. The existing building of a 50 meter swimming pool dominates the area of Aquapark. It was built in 1979 according to the project architect Otakar Oplatek. However this object no longer meets the requirements of today's visitors or athletes. The new building which includes a twenty-five meter tall swimming pool with a background is being added to the existing building. So there is a separable swimming area created here, which can serve both - swimmers and teenagers or professional athletes. There is a good possibility of racing as well. The new building connects eastward to the building of the roofed Aquapark partially hidden beneath the terraces and resting areas. These three through-flowing but mutually separable objects together with the platform define the area of the outdoor aquapark. He is also separate off from the noisy Sportovní street, but it has a sufficient supply of sunlight. Cultural Center Brno

Earlier study in the subject AG33 gave form to the following bachelor’s thesis which further develops the study into the level of Building permit documentation and Documentation for execution of the project. The theme of this work is Cultural center Brno. Designed building is situated in the center part of the city of Brno. Building site is surrounded from the south by a hill with a castle Spilberk and from the north by the Udolni Street in a context with a park Obilni trh on the other side of this street. This building is designed as a cultural center with many leisure activities for people of any age, including: making of art, education, sport and self-growth development. The main idea was to create a public space for people, where they could get together at any time and hang out, get cultural education or play a sport and at the same time take a little break from the rush of life. This single-storey building takes a U-shape a thanks to the arrangement of all parts – naturally creates space for public. There is also a green roof which expands living area of cultural life.
