Tthe personality of foster parent in the system of the substitute family care in the Czech Republic

Thesis deals with the personality of foster parents in the current systém of the substitute family care in the Czech republic. The theoretical part describes the current substitute care system in our country, the specifics of foster care and the role of psychologists in the mediation process and subsequent implementation of foster care for children. All of these topics are presented based on the study of professional domestic and foreign sources and are contextualized topic personality of foster parent. Theory, practice and prospects of foster care in the Czech Republic

Theory, practice and prospects of foster care in the Czech Republic Abstract The thesis deals with the issue of foster care, as a traditional private law institute of alternative family care, which has significant public law features. The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive view of the legal regulation of foster care de lege lata not only from a theoretical perspective, but also to point out some practical consequences of the application of the legal regulation in question. Part of the thesis is also devoted to the prospects of regulatory developments of foster care following the upcoming legislative changes in the field of alternative care for children. If, from objective or subjective reasons, the child's parents cannot personally care for the child, the state must ensure a suitable alternative care for such a child. One of these forms of alternative care is foster care, which provides a solution to the lack of personal care for child by his or her parents in an environment that resembles a family as much as possible. Evaluation of the Current Situation of Foster Care for a Transitional Period from the Point of View of the Staff of the South Bohemian Region's Authority for Social and Legal Protection of Children

The topic of this master's thesis is the evaluation of the current situation of foster care for a transitional period from the viewpoint of the staff of the Authority for Social-Legal Protection of Children in the South Bohemian Region. The content of the master's thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. In the first chapter of theoretical part, the primary attention is given to the problem of the endangered child, because social and legal protection is aimed at endangered children, to whom the next theoretical chapter devoted to. The third chapter of the theoretical issue is focused on the care provided by the substitute family, with the greatest interest being narrowed down to foster care for a temporary period. The last chapter of the theoretical part is directed to the current legislative changes, which underline the entire issue. The Issue of Foster Care from the Perspective of Foster Parents and Accompanying Workers

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of foster family care from the perspective of foster parents and the accompanying worker. The aim of the thesis was to find out what are the positives and negatives of cooperation between foster parents and accompanying organizations and to describe the experience of cooperation between accompanying workers and foster parents. The bachelor thesis has two parts. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts related to foster family care and its forms with emphasis on foster care. Family, its functions and types of families are defined, the concept of attachment, social and legal protection of children is explained. A relatively large space is devoted to foster care, its types and the process of mediation of FC. The last chapter covers the accompanying organisations for foster families, accompanying workers and the services provided by each organisation. In the practical part, qualitative research was conducted, using a semi-structured interview technique with foster parents and accompanying workers. Subsequently, the interviews are processed according to each communication partner. The research shows that the cooperation of foster parents with the AO is evaluated positively, a big role is played by the person of the accompanying worker, especially his personal qualities, the way of working and the overall approach and treatment with the family, because it is, together with the services provided, a decisive factor for the selection of the AO. In the conclusion of the thesis my main findings and the results I have achieved are summarized. I think that this thesis could be considered as a useful resource or information material that could serve future foster carers, accompanying workers as well as students in the field of social work. It could also be beneficial in improving awareness of foster care and accompanying organisations.
Assisted Custody in the Process of Foster Care

The bachelor thesis is focused on the service of assisted contact in the process of foster care. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the assisted contact service is used in organizations accompanying foster families in the South Bohemian region. Based on the study of theoretical data, the research question is "How do social workers in the South Bohemian Region perceive assisted contact?" This thesis is divided into theoretical and practical or research part, while the theoretical part includes a description of forms of substitute family care, an explanation of the child's contact in foster care with the biological family and defining the assisted contact service. The practical part is based on qualitative research. The method of questioning, the technique of semi-structured interview, was used for processing. A total of five interviews were conducted. The interviews were conducted thanks to social workers involved in accompanying the foster parents, who were selected as a research group based on a deliberate selection method. The results were evaluated using open coding. The results of the interviews show that social workers providing the assisted contact service in the South Bohemian Region have a predominantly positive attitude towards the assisted contact service and therefore perceive it as beneficial. The results of this bachelor's thesis can be used as a study material for students or institutions dealing with the issue of accompanying foster families, or for future applicants for foster care.
The attitudes of foster parents to services provided by nonprofit organizations in Ceske Budejovice district

The bachelor thesis deals with the attitudes of foster parents to services provided by accompanying organizations in the district of České Budějovice. The first part of my bachelor thesis describes the basic concepts like the foster care and family. The aim is to present legal rights and responsibilities which foster parents towards the entrusted child have. I dedicated the second part of my theoretical part to the description of the accompanying organizations and social workers. The practical part provides data analysis from the answers acquired during the semi structured interviews. My goal is to find out whether the services provided by non-profit organization to foster families are sufficiently fulfilled according to the act number 359/1999 concerning Legal Code About Social and Legal Protection of Children. This thesis is also interested in their points of view on accompanying organizations and if they would appreciate or welcome any changes.
The Importance of Preparing Forster Parents for a Temporary Period

The topic of this bachelor´s thesis is the importance of preparing short term foster parents. The body of this thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part deals with the current forms of the alternative family care system, as it focuses mainly on short term foster care. Furthermore it focuses on the preparation for the realization of foster care, its structure and parts of its content. The aim of the thesis is to map how short term foster parents evaluate the process of their preparation for accepting a child into the family. In connection to the aim of the thesis and theoretical knowledge, the main research question was determined: How do short term foster parents evaluate the content of the preparations in retrospect with regard to practice? Furthermore, the following partial research questions were set: What positive things did the short term foster parents find in the preparation process? What negatives did the short term foster parents find in the preparation process? What were the foster parents' expectations resulting from the preparation? A qualitative research strategy, a method of questioning, and a semi-structured interview technique were chosen for the research. The research sample consisted of six communication pairs. The results of the interviews were analyzed by the method of creating clumps. The results of the interviews revealed that the communication partners found the process of their professional preparation to be adequate, sufficiently professional and satisfactory for practice even in the context of their further compulsory annual education. The results of the thesis can serve as a comprehensive material for implementers of the preparations, but also for future applicants for foster care, as the work contains practical experience in the field of daily foster care.

Bachelor thesis focuses to foster parent´s experiences with accompanying organizations. The goal of thesis is to describe this experince and identify factors affecting fosterparent´s attitude.Accompanying organization as supporting service should assure fosterparent´s leading through whole process of foster care. Besides they are able to assure services beyond what is required by law. In theoretical part, I´m focused on family, its role and attachment´s theory. Then I´m describing substitute family care, its forms and legislative framework. Foster care has its own chapter including history and types of care, foster parent´s rights, social security, mediation and foster care´s process. Next chapter is devoted to accompanying organizations, including legislative framework for social-juristic children protection assured by authorized person, examples of accompanying organizations in Southern Bohemia and standarts for social-juristic children protection assured by authorized persons. Through demi-structured interviews I gained informations by Group 1, Group 2 was engaged through questionnaire. Mind Map was used for interviews preparation, questionnaire processing and evaluation. Content analysis was used for interviews data´s processing.For questionnaire data´s processing was used basic descriptive statistics, especially frequency statistics. It follows from the research part of my work, that the key social worker plays an important role in relationship to accompanying organization, especially his competence, professionalism and personality. Sometimes specific social worker can be a decisive factor in creating of attitude to accompanying organizations. Most of foster parents have a good experince with accompanying organizations. It follows from the research, that every accompanying organzation provides different range and quality of services. This research can be useful for social field students and for social workers. It can serve future foster parent´s for problematic orientation, eventual with accompanying organization´s choice.
Temporary foster care

The thesis deals with the positives and risks of temporary foster care from the perspective of children and foster parents. The first part characterizes foster care and its forms, legislation, foster carer and social security of foster parents. The second part characterizes temporary foster care and also emphasizes the constant readiness of foster parents. It also deals with the process how can person become a foster parent, then with a foster care agreement and legislation. It also deals with foster care benefits and the maintenance obligations of parents towards their children. It also mentions the reasons for the inclusion of the child in the temporary foster care, the conditions for foster parents, the role of foster parent and his skills. It also highlights the possibility of contact of the child with the biological family and preparing for handing over the child to aftercare (long-term foster care etc.). In the third part, it deals with the positives and risks of temporary foster care. The work has concluded that temporary foster care is beneficial and the best option for the child.

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the topic of temporary foster care. The aim is to present the process of handing over the child to aftercare from the perspective of a temporary foster parent, accompanying the organization, the child and the autority for social and legal protection of children. The bachelor's thesis describes the historical development of temporary foster care, its mission and goals, legislative enshrining and stakeholders of temporary foster care. It also describes the personality of foster parent and subsequent period of socialization of the child in the foster care for temporary period and the process of handing over the child for subsequent care. There are introduce options where a child can be placed after leaving temporary foster care. The aim of this work is to present the issues of ending temporary foster care and the placing a child in aftercare.
