The impact of the U.S. invasion on Iraqi education during 2003-2010
Jaškina, Anna ; Hornát, Jan (advisor) ; Raška, Francis (referee)
This thesis examines how the 2003 US invasion reshaped Iraq's education system from 2003 to 2010, highlighting the pivotal role of education in the country's reconstruction. Beginning with Saddam Hussein's era, marked by politicized schools but also notable educational achievements in the 1980s, it subsequently delves into the disruptive effects of the Gulf War and UN sanctions on Iraqi society. The thesis then analyzes the upheaval caused by the invasion and occupation, particularly focusing on its repercussions for primary, secondary, and tertiary education, as well as its social impact on children and adolescents. Additionally, it evaluates the role of international humanitarian aid, with a specific focus on initiatives led by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Ultimately, the thesis contends that while the US invasion significantly impacted Iraqi education, pre-existing conflicts and poorly executed reconstruction efforts compounded the challenges. It underscores the urgent need to prioritize the restoration of education and healthcare as fundamental steps towards rebuilding Iraqi society.

Račanová, Jana ; Rodová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Rotbartová, Eliška (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRAKT Name, Surname: Jana Račanová Supervisor: Bc. Zuzana Rodová M.Sc. Title: Instruments for evaluation of the structure of the day in the occupational therapy Abstract: The bachelor thesis is theoretical-practical. The thesis summarizes the basic information about the tools used in occupational therapy to evaluate the structure of the day and the areas related to it. It is the structure of the day that is important component in the occupational therapy assessment and together with the other areas assessed it allows the occupational therapist to take a holistic view of the patient. Assessing all of the factors that may be affecting an individual's health is essential for setting appropriate therapeutic plans and goals. Therefore, the theoretical part includes chapters dealing with concepts related to the structure of the day that should not be overlooked in occupational therapy practice. Basic concepts of the profession (occupation, activities, habits) as well as concepts such as participation, occupational balance, roles, etc. are described. At the same time, the work includes brief information about models that address the issue. The aim of the practical part is to translate one of the instruments, namely the Occupational Balance Questionnaire 11 (OBQ11), and to test it in a standard...

Lohmann, Nina ; Křen, Jan (advisor) ; Puttkamer, Joachim (referee) ; Schmiechen-Ackermann, Detlef (referee)
anglicky The PhD thesis Das "deutsche Prag" 1939-1945. Ein Beitrag zur Erforschung der besetzten Hauptstädte Europas deals with the German occupation of Prague before and during World War II in the context of current research on the National-socialist occupation of Europe. The so-called Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia has been somewhat on the sidelines of current trends in international historiography as has the history of Prague in the Twentieth century. The thesis therefore first sketches out the broader research context as well as the roots for German occupation policy in the former Czechoslovak capital city, referring to the once prominent position of the German minority in Prague. One main focus of the thesis is then to try and analyse the (changing) structure and the population movement of the Germans in Prague during the years of occupation. In a next step, examples are given on how the German occupation regime tried to consolidate and expand the Germans' position in the city, aiming for an eventual re-modeling of the urban structure in terms of a "Germanisation" of the Bohemian capital. A chapter on the final collapse and dissolution of "German Prague" concludes the study.

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Name, Surname: Kateřina Dřevikovská Supervisor: Bc. et Bc. Zuzana Rodová, M.Sc. Title: Possibilities of meaningful occupation assessment in Occupational Therapy intervention Abstract: The bachelor thesis is theoretical-practical. One of the aims of the thesis is to present the role of meaningful activity in occupational therapy. To provide context, the first chapters of the theoretical part are devoted to introducing the field of occupational therapy and basic concepts related to the topic. Meaningful activity is the main therapeutic tool occupational therapists use in patient/client care. The thesis also discusses how occupational therapists, with their broad scope and specific approach, are an important members of the multidisciplinary team. Tools for assessing engagement in meaningful activities are limited and none are available in Czech. In the theoretical part, two main foreign instruments are presented - the Meaningful Activity Participation Assessment, shortly MAPA (Eakman et al., 2007) and the Engagement in Meaningful Activities Survey, shortly EMAS (Goldberg, Brintnell and Goldberg, 2002). The aim of the practical part is to translate the EMAS tool using the back-translation method and test it in the occupational therapist's practice with stroke patients. Six case studies...

Buriánková, Adéla ; Jančík, Jiří (advisor) ; Suková Vychopňová, Kateřina (referee)
The present paper on feminine allomorphs and allolexs in the French language provides a better understanding of the formation of feminine exponents in the domain of occupational names. In the first part of the text, we discuss theoretically the circumstances and conditions under which the need for feminization of occupational names arises and how the morphemic chain of the concrete feminine is constructed. We discuss the morphemic and morphological aspect, the historical context, the need for feminisation from a legal and political point of view, the jobs requiring feminisation and the factors influencing the choice of the process of formation of feminine lexis. We also consider the opinion of the French Academy and French dictionaries such as Le Larousse and Le Robert. In the same way, we include in the dissertation the modes of formation and representation of the feminine in the FLE textbooks. In the second part of the text, we dedicate ourselves to practical research in which we study the actual production of the use of the feminine of occupational names. This research, carried out with the help of the questionnaire method, gives us a real insight into practical usage, which helps us to get an overall picture of this relatively new grammatical phenomenon on such a large scale. Key words: gender,...

Formy a vývoj kolaborace ve Vichy Petra Šrédlová Abstract This bachelor thesis is dealing with various types of collaboration between France and Germany in the course of years from 1940 to 1944. It focuses on the three most significant types of collaboration, namely state collaboration, economic collaboration and collaborationism. The thesis is divided into three chapters, which are focused on particular kinds of collaboration and every one of them analyses their chronological development within several subheads. The state and economic collaboration took place on the level of government negotiations, in which the Vichy government did not support total collaboration, whereas collaborationism was based on ideological support of Nazi Germany, where the collaborationists supported absolute collaboration. The aim of this thesis is to analyse chronological course of particular types of collaboration focused on the breakdown of transformation of the attitude of individual participants.
