Růžičková, Tereza ; Cahel, Tomáš (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis was prepared on the basic of an earlier study in the subject AG32. This bachelor’s thesis develops study further into the level Building permit documentation and Documentation for execution of the project. The main theme of this work is the Kindergarten in Brno. The proposed kindergarten is located in the city centre of Brno, on Údolní Street. The land is bordered by a frequented road from the north side and the park Obilní trh, on the south side of the land the relief gradually rises to Špilberk Castle. The main idea was to create a kindergarten object and an ideal space for children’s upbringing and movement. The shape of the building reacts to the surrounding area. On the north side is only the entrance to the building and the school’s operational base. The main room of the school (the games room and the dining room) opens to the south side into the garden which goes further into the slope. The west wing of the building is extended to the slope and the construction continues to the original terrain and it’s possible to cross to the slope of the roof of the building. Roof is designed as a vegetation roof. The overall appearance of the building is of a natural character. It’s made of a wooden facade vertical tile. Only at the entrance to the building and on the other side of the building near garden are designed colour rotating lamellas. Children can rotate with them and change the appearance of the building.

The bachelor thesis expands the architectural project created in the framework of the subject AG35 in the spring semester on a level of a Building permit documentation and a Documentation for execution of the project. The theme of the task is a new building of a concert hall with the defined land on the Údolní street in Brno, in front of the park Obilní trh. Surrounding historical buildings from the 19th century strictly follows the street line. But that line was broken at the defined land by the impact of a bomb in World War II. On a neighbouring plot, the created space was filled by a building of regional ombudsman, which doesn’t follow the street line anymore. So its continuing isn’t required on the defined land neither. Sloping terrain influenced whole concept, which consist in implanting the building into terrain, so that followed surrounding terrain and connect park Obilní trh with park Špilberk through walk-on roof surface with vegetation and a newly build park in front of the concert hall. The building is divided into two parts from exterior. The first one is a polygon and it is mostly under terrain. A small surface of façade above a terrain is largely created by glass curtain wall supplemented by white stucco. Here is located a main entrance and a foyer, a main concert hall, a café, rehearsal rooms, an exercise studio, an atelier, changing rooms and technical facilities of whole building. While the second rectangular part, in which is situated small concert hall on the second floor, is as if levitating block overlapping over a volume of the first floor and it is garnished by structural panels from glass fiber reinforced concrete. The cladding goes to the ground in the southeast corner of the block and there are panels with inscription “hudební klub” or specific name of the concert hall instead of the structural panels.
Kindergarten at the Obilní Trh in Brno
Studnička, Michal ; Cahel, Tomáš (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is a design of a kindergarten in Brno, which would be able to accommodate two classes of at most 24 children. The south of the given estate passes into a hillside leading up to the Špilberk castle. The other side of the estate is connected by a gap site to a public park Obilní trh over the Údolní street. The design places a multipurpose building into the gap site, creating a calm courtyard for the kindergarten placement. The singlestorey kindergarten building has a shape of an equilateral L, naturally dividing it’s private part of the estate from the public one and the interior layout into two symmetrical classes with the facilities, that need to be shared, placed in the middle. One of the building’s wings is sunken into the hillside creating natural access to the grassy roof, adding another flat part to kindergarten’s private courtyard, where the children can play. The facade created by densely and regularly distributed colorful vertical ropes with empty geometric figures over the windows, giving the building a playful appearance, which is likable for children.
The Building on Obilní trh
Jálová, Kateřina ; Ježková, Tereza (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The Obilní trh is a notable public space in the image of the Brno city. Its southern part has not been completed yet, although there is plenty of potential for development of the city, or its public institutions. The form of public administration and its authorities are criticized for a long period of time. There are a minimum of examples of modern, open, flexible and even sustainable public buildings. The social discourse is calling for them louder and louder and architects must have the answer for this calling prepared.
The Building on Obilní trh
Hladíková, Tereza ; Skála, Ondřej (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The grain market is part of the city center of Brno. The grain market is a square with a park that overlooks the Špilberk hill. However, Údolní Street, as a connecting link between the center and the Grain Market, has several shortcomings. One of the key ones is the gap between the Ombudsman's office and the public transport stop. There is currently an unsuitable car park and several dilapidated houses on this gap. These houses are slowly being demolished due to their poor technical condition. An undeveloped gap in the Grain Market is a long-term problem that needs to be addressed. It is currently the property of the South Moravian Region. According to information, he does not currently intend to address this issue in the near future. In the future, he is interested in stopping it. This plan is in sight, but when it occurs, the City of Brno, which is interested in the plot, will also take part in this project. The building for the office of the South Moravian Region, or rather its branch, will be installed in the gap. The current headquarters does not have sufficient capacity and it completely lacks any conference center or place where unions could expand and add to more sections. The proposal and the overall idea to choose a branch of the regional office were created in consultation with the regional office. In the future, it is not expected that the current unions will disappear, but rather that sub-committees may begin to be selected and formed, thus creating the right to additional office space. The proposal also takes into account the space for catering for employees and the public. The idea of transparency allows the interconnection of individual structures. The bachelor's thesis will test knowledge in the areas of design of urban public spaces, office buildings, buildings for temporary housing, interior design and technical design of the building.
The Building on Obilní trh
Daňová, Barbora ; Štěpánek, Martin (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The gap on the opposite side of Obilní trh has been a neglected area for a long time and it looks unaesthetic. The location of the place is ideal for the construction of a building of public interest as it is located near the city center and at the same time it is surrounded by nature especially the park around the castle Spilberk. The situation is solved in this thesis by designing a multifunctional building which houses mainly the Office of district Brno střed, Brno City Architect's Office and the Urban Center. The premises attract with their variable use and also with the mutual communication of the building with the outdoor spaces. The urbanism of the design respects and complements the surrounding public space while not disturbing the current state of public infrastructure and life in the city. On the contrary, the design supports the attractiveness of the place and the city of Brno as such.
Primary Architecture / Teaching architecture to the younger generation
Menšíková, Barbora ; Veselá, Markéta (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
Due to the complexity of the whole current educational system, the proposal creates an alternative form of teaching aesthetic perception - art and architecture, a kind of intermediate stage, which joins the existing curricula of compulsory education of children as a supplement or extension. The proposal is therefore a space - an artistic institution, focusing on the education of the young generation from the ranks of the general public. The cooperation of the School of Architecture with educational institutions creates an environment where the student emerges from the academic community and educates the general public. On the contrary, the public enters the environment of the Faculty of Architecture and offers architects a new perspective.
