Possibilities of using modern methods in manufacturing of prototype castings focused to combination of RP and investment casting
Sysel, Karel ; Kosour, Vojtěch (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The objective of this thesis is to close the possibilities of modern foundry industry and demonstrate that nowadays it isn’t only about production of inaccurate casts, which were products of a lengthy industrial processes and testing of the new casting moulds. So that the thesis is concentrate on possibilities of the Rapid Prototyping Technologies and investment casting, because especially combination of them gets a new possibilities and direction to the modern foundry industry.
Casted Formula Student Upright
Doležal, Tomáš ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with a design of casted upright for Formula Student vehicle Dragon X. Casting method used for the purpose of this thesis was selected by review of relevant scientific literature. The upright was then structurally designed and strength calculations were made. Main criterion of the design is minimum compliance with meeting the required weight. Final design is compared with the design of the previous generation of vehicle.
Application of rapid prototyping in foundry industry
Krejčí, Zbyněk ; Macků, Martin (referee) ; Kosour, Vojtěch (advisor)
These bachelor thesis deals with the practical aplication of rapid prototyping at foundry industry. In the first part of the thesis is given list of the most important methods of rapid prototyping, those principles, advantages and disadvantages. And the second part is dealing with aplication of these methods at foundry industry, and its evaluation.
Modern trends of using ceramic cores for aerospace and IGT sector
Karafa, Pavel ; Láník, Boris (referee) ; Tomek, Ladislav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the manufacturing process and applications of ceramic cores for use in investment casting foundries. These ceramic cores find use extensively in the aerospace and energy industries for the production of turbine blades, or sometimes to create cavities in castings, which can’t be created by other methods. A separate task of ceramic cores described in the work is to create cooling cavities inside the body of the blade to improve the working process of the turbine. Work on the introduction briefly describes the casting using the lost wax method, which the turbine blades are produced, then the materials, separate process for producing ceramic cores, removing them from casting and default application of kernels.
Production of lever fuse casting for hose coupling
Tvrdoň, Tomáš ; Myška, Martin (referee) ; Pernica, Vítězslav (advisor)
The first part of this bachelor’s thesis is just a theory and it is focused on producing castings with method of impermanent moulds. You can find here basic classification of moulds and afterwards sand moulds and ceramic moulds are described. The second part is practical and it is focused on a production of lever fuse which defends disconnection of the fire hose when it is under the pressure of water. Lost wax casting was chosen for the production. In this part is described full process from pattern making, gluing to wax tree, covering to metal casting. The whole practical part is accompanied by authentic pictures which were made during the process.
Manufacture of cylinder head casting for engine renovation Jawa 50
Pastyřík, Petr ; Myška, Martin (referee) ; Bořil, Petr (advisor)
This project elaborats the manufacture of a cylinder head casting for an engine renovation of Jawa 50. Based on the literary pursuit of suitable foundry technologies and using 3D printing in foundry a casting production technology was designed and the cylinder head was made. The part was designed in the CAD software and then printed on a 3D printer. The printed model was formed in ceramic shell form, then melted and the form was annealed. After that the cast was casted. The last operations were fettling and finishing machining.
Rapid prototyping methods (RP) suitable for foundry technology
Slovák, Vojtěch ; Helán, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to make an integrated view of the most considerable current Rapid prototyping methods and the most frequent applications in the foundry industry. The work does not propose to find all existing Rapid prototyping methods and their use in the foundry technology either. But it wants to take down the most important aplications of Rapid prototyping methods especially direct casting methods.
Modern trends of using ceramic cores for aerospace and IGT sector
Urbanovský, Jan ; Láník, Boris (referee) ; Tomek, Ladislav (advisor)
The work deals with ceramic cores production proces for investment casting. Those cores are using in aerospace and IGT sectors not just in gas turbine blades production. Their specific application is in forming cooling cavities important for safe and reliable turbine. The work is going through the all steps in production, from choosing the correct material, to removing core from cavities.
