The position of Indonesia in ASEAN

In the last decade, Indonesia has witnessed profound social, political and economic transformations that have transformed it from an authoritarian regime to one of the most liberal countries of the Muslim world. Currently represents the fastest growing economy in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) which the impressive growth rate significantly strengthened its position on the international markets. The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesia, to assess the degree of its integration within ASEAN and the world and outline the perspectives of economic growth in the future. The bachelor thesis is divided into two broad chapters that provide a comprehensive picture of the current Indonesian economy and its foreign trade partners as well as its existing integration processes.
Analysis of the Indonesian economy and its relations with the European Union

The thesis deals with the analysis of the Indonesian economy and subsequently the bilateral relationship between the European Union and Indonesia. Firstly, it analyses the demographic and economic situation in Indonesia, afterwards it focuses on the economic development supplemented with the analyze of the contemporary Indonesian economy. The international Indonesia politics is researched in the next chapter as well, with the deep view into the ASEAN as the most important international organization for the countries in south-east Asia. The thesis emphasizes the bilateral relationships between the EU and Indonesia in the last part and it also tries to find some perspectives of further cooperation leading to the intensification of the Indonesian transport to the EU.
Business and cultural specifics of Indonesia

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to approach specifics of the Republic of Indonesia in the field of economics, business and culture. The first chapter represents Indonesia as a country in Southeast Asia, its geographical location, population, short history including current political system and also as a touristic area. The second chapter analyses main macroeconomic indicators and their course during last ten years. The third chapter mentions the main business partners, membership of Indonesia in the international organizations and mutual relationship with the Czech Republic. The fourth chapter deals with Indonesian culture and its influence on business negotiations. The last chapter is based on the results of the survey.

International rice trade

The thesis deals with the development of international trade in rice and focuses mainly on the period 2006 until 2011. I concentrated on the major exporters of rice -- China, India, Thailand, Vietnam and the U.S., the major importers -- Indonesia and the EU. In the context of these countries I analyzed the effects of government trade policies on the form of international trade in rice. My goal was to combine both these elements in coherence, because they are an inseparable part. In the first chapter, I first defined types of rice, then I explained the Standard Model theory of trade and trade policies for the export and import countries. In the second chapter, I gave an overview of the production and trade in rice. In next chapter I dealt with the trade policies of the above mentioned states. In the last chapter, I finally connected the impact of trade policies on foreign trade of selected countries.
Internal development and foreign policy of independent Indonesia

The first part of the thesis is focused on internal development of an independent Indonesia, the transition from colonialism to the present day democratic arrangement. Furthermore, the mapping of modern Indonesian history in time and space dimensions , and comparatively across cultures and civilization of the population practices the Indonesian archipelago and then indirect and Southeast Asia. Part of this development are separatist tendencies of East Timor , West New Guinea and the Tamil Tigers , Aceh. The second part of this work will deal with foreign policy and relations with other countries in the world . Changes in orientation and cooperation between Indonesia, various regimes ruling in the history of independent Indonesia. Participation and influence in international organizations, both regional and global character, but also about the relationship between Indonesia and the Czech Republic.

This thesis deals with the Indonesian specifics and provides important information for investors and traders intending to penetrate the Indonesian market. Apart from basic information it refers to the specifics of Indonesian trade and the Indonesian investment climate as well. Specifics of each area are mentioned in the last part of this work. Knowledge of local differences is very important because each region is different. The chapter with specifics of the regions describes general characteristics of each area, economic situation, natural conditions and at last but not at least comments specifics of the cultural differences and security situation in the regions.

The work should also inform about current state, opportunities and threats for the Czech trade with the fourth most populous country of the world. Last but not least, this thesis deals with the future prospects of the respective business relations, mainly based on primary research.
The Asian First-Tier and Second-Tier Newly Industrialized Countries Comparison

The bachelor thesis "The Asian First-Tier and Second-Tier Newly Industrialized Countries Comparison" maps the development of Asian NIEs from the beginning of their miracle growth till nowadays, however the peculiar attention is paid to the pre-crisis period till 1997. During this period these countries made signigicant structural changes inside their economies. The emphasis is then put on their outstanding export orientation. Space is given to introduction of particular countries in demographic, geographic and some other indicators in order to provide wider illustration of them, as well as to basic outline of the problem. The objective of the thesis is to provide common features or disparities between two Asian generations as well as between countries of each generation itself.
