This thesis deals with the personality of the Premysl Pitter, a time in which he lived. He was a man of humanism, tolerance, democracy supporter, ecumenism and one of the few who help without having. The aim of the thesis is to familiarize the reader with the most important events and aspects of his life. The work is divided into ten chapters and each will concentrate on one period in his life. The first chapter describes his childhood until his return from the World War I. In the second chapter, I tried to handle the growth of his thoughts and ideas in a European context. The third chapter is entitled "Milíč's house," where Premysl and his colleagues care for children of lower Zizkov. The fourth deals with " The Castles". The fifth chapter is called Pitter escape from Czechoslovakia. In the sixth chapter describes his work in the refugee camp Valka. The seventh chapter is devoted to his publishing work and stay in Switzerland. Eighth entitled "An educator and didactic activity" here, I tried to outline its most important pedagogical benefits and principle. The ninth chapter deals with life colleague of Pitter about Olga Fierz. The last chapter was compiled in table form, which I chose for its lucidity. A thousand may fall at your side. Ladislav Rašín during the 2nd World War. Abstract The bachelor thesis follows the fate of Ladislav Rašín, an important member of National Democratic party, between the years 1938-1945. It focuses on his involvement in the activities of the resistance group Politické ústředí, and subsequent years spent in several German prison houses. Rašín's closest relatives will also be considered in the thesis, as the entire family poignantly illustrates the dramatic turns of fate which many of the leading 1st Republic families endured during the 2nd World War and Nazi occupation. Of particular interest are Ladislav's mother Karla Rašínová (a widow of the assassinated Minister of Finances Alois Rašín) and his wife Marie, since both of them were also involved in resistance activities. Using their contacts, they were even able to reverse the death sentence pronounced upon Rašín and his resistance colleagues in the year 1941. Despite this triumph, their determined fight for a beloved son and husband inevitably ends in tragedy.

The thesis offers semiotic analysis of the World War II poster. It examines the fundamental rhetorical and visual examples based on specific ideological context. The thesis presents the representative war posters of the Soviet Union, United Kingdom, United States of America and Nazi Germany. Selected samples of the Czechoslovak posters are also included.

Jews in Habry

The Habry Jewish community is not insignificant, but it draws attention to its hidden importance both in terms of the year of the first appearance of Jews (i.e. 1341) and the people who appeared there. Dr. A. Stránský was born there, the commercial council of August G. Stránský's government came from there; not far from Habry, there was the last Yeshiva in traditional schooling in the Czech Lands, the place where the Habry Jews would go to be educated, and where the later Chief Rabbi R. Feder taught Habry's Jewish children. From the population list we can gather that the community there was not always large. From information on which this study is based, and which relates mostly to the period of the 19th and 20th centuries, that is, the time when Jews enjoyed more freedom in their activities and lives, it is apparent that the elevation of Habry was connected with the Jews who lived there. We should remember a doctor's free medical treatment for poor Jews, the founding of the Werfel and Böhm factory, which provided employment for up to 100 people, help to Jewish businessmen in issuing food stamps when poverty was at large, or the establishment of bus transport until Habry's elevation to the status of a town, and many other matters connected with the lives of the Jews. Modern Sacral Architecture.

The thesis deals with European sacral architecture of the twentieth and the twenty-first century. Particularly, it refers to Judaic, Roman-Catholic and Islamic buildings. The second part puts into historical context the sacral constructions of individual religions including their function, characters and typology. In the third part of this thesis the representative sample of significant modern sacral constructions is selected, always under circumstances regarding their creation, the urban description and the setting in a specific location as well as the architectural layout, the interior arrangment and a possible use of special technological procedures at their construction. The mutual comparison and the evaluation of the modern European sacral architecture development are carried out in the fourth part. This section notices the function and the usage of light and presents some extraordinary buildings from this point of view. The final fifth part tries to answer the question, how a modern temple should look like.
