Hearing impairment and its ethical aspects in a family environment and in work inclusion of person with impairment

We speak of hearing as one of the most important senses of every human being. With its help, we are able to fully perceive the world around us. Accepting auditory perceptions makes it very easy for us to communicate with other people, it is easier to integrate into a social group. If we can completely receive and distinguish sound pulses, we are able to respond to them accordingly. This professional work is focused on the quality of life of people with hearing impairment, their socialization and the possibility of employment in the work environment. In this case, it is a one-case study of a deaf man who was born healthy (hearing person).
The inclusion of the child with a cochlear implant in the preschool mainstream education

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of inclusion, concretely focused on a child with a cochlear implant in a kindergarten of a mainstream education. The target of this thesis is to make a theoretical basis of children with a cochlear implant problematic related to their education and on this basis make a case study of a child with a cochlear implant in a kindergarten of a mainstream education in an evaluation accent of an education process. The thesis is devided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is in its first chapter focused on an area of hearing impairment, defines the basic concepts and describes the specifics of children with a cochlear implant. The second chapter contains the basic terms and knowledges of a cochlear implant. The third and also the last chapter of a theoretical part deals with preschool education in a relation to the hearing impairment. The practical part focuses on a description of a development of the boy in all areas with a bigger focus on communicative competention and a process of preschool education. Also points to the separate support measures and their usage by his integration to the mainstream education. For the filling of this targets was being applied a research which took the form of observation, halfstructurated dialogues and document analysis. Due to entirety complexity the dialogues with the parents and the kindergarten teachers and anamnestic data has been detailed. By the research investigation it has been found out that the choice of a child placement to the mainstream education doesn´t have to be the suitable variant because every child is unique and has its own needs and limits. Through the detail analysis has been found out that the inclusion is very individual matter conditioned by many factors. Due to the relation to this mentioned boy with a cochlear implant there are these: a rehabilitation success, the level of communication skills, the correct choice of communicative system, the impact of hearing impairment to the separate parts of the development ant the last but not the least the cooperation of the parents and the preschool facility.
Integration Process of the Student with hearing Impairment in the Mainstream

The bachelor thesis deals with the integration process of a student with hearing impairment into mainstream education. It is an example of good practice, where augmentative and alternative communication, re-education of reading, speech therapy rehabilitation and hearing compensation using the behind-the-year hearing aids can help develop communication skills and competences of a student with bilateral severe perceptual hearing loss. The aim of the thesis is to elaborate an adequate professional basis of the issue of integrated education of people with hearing impairment and to describe and analyse the educational history and presence of a student with hearing impairment in the case study design. The thesis is structured into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the basic areas closely related to the topic of hearing impairment. The first chapter defines terminology, classification, aetiology and impacts of hearing impairment. The second chapter describes the child's personality and communication skills. The last chapter deals with the system of education of hearing impairment pupils. The empirical part focuses on the forms and methods of work, pedagogical and educational procedures used to develop communication skills of a boy. It also shows how they influence his integration into mainstream education, social inclusion and relations. In order to meet the mentioned purposes of the thesis, qualitative research in the case study design has been used. Due to the complexity and integrity of the case, the history data, interviews with the mother, student and an employee of the non-profit organization KreBul have been processed in detail. The research points to a number of interesting pieces of information. It suggests that the initiative from the mother, boy and teachers as well as the teamwork of all stakeholders, friendly, pleasant and sensitive classroom atmosphere, the ordered verbal method in the observed case, the recommended special pedagogical practices and the choice of methodical procedures by the teachers, consistency in adherence to clearly defined rules and the student's chances to learn in a team of intact pupils who have been a great motivation in his development, are very important in progress of communication skills. Following formal and content modifications, the text of the final thesis can be used by the parents. The found facts can be used as a source of data by schools and the educational community. The study can serve as a feedback for the institutions involved in the integration process of pupils with hearing impairment.
Psychomotor Development of Pre-School Children With Hearing Disability

This bachelor thesis analyzes the issue of psychomotor development of preschool children with hearing impairment. Particularly, the sample consists of three children with hearing impairment. Consequently, the objective of this thesis is predominantly based on the observations within the kindergarten environment, as well as on qualitative interviews with a physiotherapist and pedagogues followed by the analysis of documents. Furthermore, a detailed empirical research was conducted in order to qualitatively describe psychomotor development of preschool children with hearing impairments. The thesis has been divided into theoretical and empirical parts. Firstly, the theoretical part introduces the basic areas related to hearing impairment, describes the child in preschool age, and specifies the development of a child with hearing impairment, as the main objective is to increase the readers' eagerness and knowledge regarding this topic. Secondly, the empirical part focuses on the psychomotor development of children with hearing impairment, more specifically the three sampled children. Finally, the thesis concludes with summarized components of psychomotor developments regarding each sampled individual, followed by a recommended improvement-focused proposal with a reference to the current insufficiency within certain weakened areas of this issue.
Use of artefiletics in working with children with hearing impairment

This Bachelor Thesis seeks to analyze preschool children with hearing impairments and the use of artefiletics to help with their communication skills development. The first part is a theoretical study of children with hearing impairment and their challenges. It then aspires to explain artefiletics as a method used in working with these children. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis looks into a recommended set of artefiletic activities that are focused on the development of communication skills and abilities. The practical part includes expert interviews with teachers of various preschool, including the preschool for children with hearing impairment. In the interviews, the teachers assess the suitability of the artefiletics and artefiletic activities for children with hearing impairment to help with their communication skills development.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the quality of life of hearing-impaired seniors in residential social services. It examines how the quality of life is perceived by seniors with hearing impairments themselves, as well as how it is perceived by staff of social service providers.
Education of students with hearing impairtment from 50's of 20th century till present time

This Bachelor's thesis called "Education of students with hearing impairment from the '50s of 20th century till the present time" is in theoretic form and it gives a historical overview of the education of students with hearing impairment. It is divided into four chapters, which present a general introduction of issues in course of hearing impairment, world history of education, in next part I deal with a development of education pupils and students in the Czech republic and in last part I give attention to current situation of education. My goal was to give the reader a comprehensive view into the historical development of education of students with hearing impairment in contrast with an education system in our country that is known nowadays. This thesis is not only for students of special education and specialists, who deal with this issue but also for the general public, whose interested in this topic and want to know more.
Use of yoga for children with hearing impairmentat the age of 8 to 15.

This thesis is focused on the use of yoga for children with hearing impairment at the age of 8-15 years. The theoretical framework summarizes the current knowledge about the hearing system including its function and anatomy, and yoga, its history and the influence of yoga on human body functional systems. A special chapter is dedicated to hearing impairment, its etiology, classification, and types. In the practical part, the effect of suitable physical activity on the probands of institution for the hearing-impaired children in České Budějovice has been examined. For this purpose, the exercise pole test and PedsQL pediatric quality of life questionnaire survey were performed. In the exercise pole test, the average time to complete the exercise set decreased from 45.2 to 36.6 seconds. In the PedsQL questionnaire survey, the average score was increased in all the monitored dimensions and the average total score increased by 12%. The obtained results and their comparison with the results of the control group indicate that the interventional movement program had a positive effect on children.
Participation of Adult Users of Cochlear Implant in the Labour Market

The aim of the study was to determine the issue of integration of postlingually deaf adults into professional activities - what effect did the cochlear implant have on employment, i.e. what impact did the cochlear implant have on the working life of its user. The research was realized by an anonymous semi-structured type questionnaire, which contained 33 questions overall. 19 adult respondents filled out the questionnaire in total, the questionnaire was provided through the website or sent out via e-mail addresses. The predominant majority (74 %) of respondents stated that they do the same job even after implantation of a cochlear implant. Thanks to the hearing impairment, a total of 37 % of respondents received support from their employers. However, should be taken into consideration that 26 % of respondents haven't confided to their employer about the issue at all. More than half (95 %) of respondents agreed that the cochlear implant provided them expected benefits for participation in working life. At the same time, they assessed the improvement of the situation in individual areas by the number 2 (out of five possible numbers from 1-5) - it is, that there was a slight change for the better. Comprehensive care for a child with severe hearing impairment before and after cochlear implantation

The thesis deals with the process of cochlear implantation from diagnosis of hearing impairment to sound processor setup and hearing rehabilitation. In the theoretical part, attention is paid to defining the topic of hearing impairment, there are mentioned means of communication that can be chosen for communication with a child with hearing impairment, and we find a description of the development of spoken language in these children. Subsequently, attention is paid to the system of care for these children and finally the cochlear implant and the whole process of cochlear implantation is described here. The empirical part is based on interviews with mothers of children with severe hearing impairment who underwent cochlear implantation, and focuses primarily on informing parents about the whole process, establishing communication with the child before implantation and the course of subsequent hearing rehabilitation. The work aims to point out the need for early diagnosis of hearing loss, its correct compensation, establishing contact using a sensory accessible means of communication and the importance of long-term cooperation in setting up a sound processor and subsequent hearing rehabilitation.
