Upper limb movement analysis
Toláš, Štěpán ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
This master's thesis investigates the use of inertial measurement units (IMUs) for the analysis of upper limb movements with a focus on their use in rehabilitation. Using accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers, IMUs provide comprehensive data on limb orientation and dynamics. A pilot study was conducted to appropriately process the available data, develop a measurement protocol and an application to visualize the movement data.
Indoor Positioning Based on Inertial Measurement Unit
Coufal, Marek ; Vychodil, Josef (referee) ; Král, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with inertial navigation intended for indoor usage. The algorithm for processing accelerometer and gyro data is described along with their position in equations of motion. Various coordinate systems are defined for ease of manipulation of vector quantities, including conversions and rotations between frames. The thesis also addresses the design of the hardware for the inertial unit, including the minimum requirements for fast data recording. Some chapters are dedicated to the design of the printed circuit board and the implementation of the device, followed by the development of firmware and software for data logging and processing.
Security Risks of Mobile Device Sensors
Finger Position Tracking in 3D Space
Hegr, Miloš ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Malaník, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a universal system for measuring data describing position in 3D space. This paper provides a theoretical overview of position description in 3D space and shows the possibilities of position reconstruction from sensor data. It gives a closer look at the RingOne hardware device, and finally proposes and implements a system for finger position reconstruction using this device. This system consists of the firmware for the RingOne device, a C language library allowing easy communication with the measuring device and a protocol defining the way data is transmitted and how the measuring device is configured. This work is also complemented by a modified Spacenavd driver for easy presentation of the measured data.
Design of computational algorithm for using of hollowed shaft in electric machine
Tobiáš, Jan ; Hadaš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
The aim of this work is to develop the possibility of usage the hollow shafts in electric machines. The first part focus on explanation theory of mechanic, which is connected with loading of the shaft. Specifically are explained the methods of computation deformation and normal stress. Next is mentioned the theory of gyroscope and described its consequence. After that is explained problematique of critical speeds. In the following part is described process of solving the shaft loading according the previous analytic formulas. These formulas are formulated to be able to reflect the shaft loading depending on value of inner diameter as property. Practical part focus on creating the calculator for usage the hollow shaft in electric machines. In this chapter is described how the calculator works and how to controll it by user. In the last part are shown calculated results and their analysis. In the summary is mentioned possible usage of the results and ideas for improvements.
Use of Mobile Device Sensors in a Car
Aron, Lukáš ; Široký, Vít (referee) ; Žák, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis analyses the use of an accelerometer commonly present in a mobile device for the measuring of vibration in a vehicle. Such measurements are used to map the quality of the road surface. The signal from the accelerometer and the current travelling speed of the vehicle are evaluated according to a threshold function. This function allows for a determination of whether the signal reported by the device signifies a pot-hole or another type of defect on the road surface. If the defect is determined to pose a threat to a vehicle travelling at higher speeds, then this fact is saved into the memory of the device. The second part of this thesis deals with the design of an internet and a mobile application, which is able to collect all measured data processes using cluster analysis and then shares the results with other participating devices. Tha practical results is that a map of road surface defect is thus created, which is then displayed to road users. This thesis deals with theory of mobile device sensors, including signal processing, as well as the design creation of the internet and mobile application.
Flight statements electronic sensor.
Harant, Josef ; Fedra, Zbyněk (referee) ; Šebesta, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with theoretical analysis, design and practical solution of flight statements electronic sensor. This device is primarily intended for measuring telemetry data during aerobatic flights. Theoretical part contains fundamentals of GPS and inertial navigation systems. Design of the device is divided into three parts - design of block structure, construction and software for the measuring device. The final realization is made with respect to minimal system requirements and to possible future extensibility for wider usage spectrum.
Accelerometer-based monitoring of steering wheel angle
Navrátil, Tadeáš ; Jirgl, Miroslav (referee) ; Mihálik, Ondrej (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a device which will be used for measuring the steering wheel angle. Main goal was to design basic concept of device which is using data gathered from three accelerometers in the reconstruction algorithm to get steering wheel angle. Discussion of various reconstruction algorithms (with regards to simulated output noise levels from acceleromater) and final Implementation of reconstruction algorithm (in MATLAB simulink enviroment) is also part of this thesis. Furthermore, thesis deals with the selection of suitable components. Mainly selection of accelerometers, microcontroller and the selection of a suitable communication bus for mutual communication between them. Thesis also deals with design improvements of algorithm and realization of the whole device. In the end, we compare results of measuring device and inner senzor of steering wheel.
