SIP/H.323 gateway with Asterisk PBX

This Bachelor’s thesis is engaged in problems of the internet telephony and its usage in today´s world, which offers many techniques how communicate among people. The internet telephony gives telephoning other format and shows new possibilities of IP protocol´s usage. The thesis is focused on the most used protocol corveying functions of VoIP technology, it is the standard H.323 and also the SIP protokol, which even if provides the same functions as H.323 is based on the different principle and because of its easy structure, it prepares good conditions for rise of new applications and services in internet telephony. In this thesis the Open Source private branch exchange Asterisk is also discussed. Asterisk, not only thanks to the usage of Voice over IP provides against the standard analogue private branch exchange many advantages and thanks to its modularity and expansibility also offers much more possibilities of configuration. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is the basic protocol, with which Asterisk works. The standard H.323 is not implemented in the basic installation of Asterisk, therefore it is necessary to do its suitable installation and congiruation, in order to expand exchange´s functions for work with this standard and also to be able to realize translation between the protocol SIP and the standard H.323. The results, which I accomplished, are presented in the chapters „Dosažené výsledky“ and in the conclusion of the bachelor’s thesis.

Gatekeeping in the news ČT1 a TV Nova

Bachelor thesis Gatekeeping in the news ČT1 and TV Nova is focused on gatekeeping process in the most watched commercial television and the most watched public television. Gatekeeping is the process within which gatekeepers decide what information will not be processed as a news and, vice versa, what information will be processed and will become a news to be broadcasted in television. This process is controlled by gatekeepers on whom the decision-making processes depend. One chapter of the thesis deals with the history of researches focused on gatekeeping process and one chapter deals with the most comprehensive gatekeeping research carried out by Pamela Shoemaker. Other chapters address information sources in the Czech Republic, news values and researches focused on determination who are persons speaking in news. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is based on detailed interviews with individual gatekeepers in the ČT1 and TV Nova newsrooms. It is the aim of the bachelor thesis to map functioning of decision-making processes (who determines themes of news, who decides on replacement of a news by another one) in ČT1 and TV Nova newscast. The role of the editor in television newscast

This batchelor thesis focuses on the profession of an editor in czech TV newscast. It describes the origin of the job, its development and its actual workload with emphasis on the differences between the public service Czech television and one of the private channels TV Nova. Appart from specialized literature and other sources from the field of study, a significant amount of information is based on interviews with editors from both TV stations and observation of their work. In the following part of the text, the acquired knoledge is compared with quantitative and qualitative analysis of the main newscast sessions of both TV channels made in the week from April 23 to April 29 2018.

Who are environmental journalists?

(english) The thesis deals with the environmental journalist, I use gatekeeper concept. The aim is to identify working routines and relationship with environmental and nature. In the first part, I complicate the theoretical basis. I first concerned with social constructionism of issue, media communication and key terms in media and environment. In empirical part is used the qualitative research strategy - an analysis of interviews with environmental journalists from news journals, weekly magazines and websites and analysis of information sources. I described relationship, opinions and values of environmental journalists to environment and nature. I identified the working routines and I completed it by the analysis of information sources. Important information sources are expert, non governance organization, states institutions in the environmental area. Experts and states institutions are primary defining. This research confirmed authority orientation of news. Journalists feel the autonomy in selection of topic, but I recorded pressures and controls from the media organizations. Journalists have a close relationship to nature and the environment, its protection is seen as important. Conservation lies in the modesty and sustainability.

VoIP- IP network voice communication

The possibility for using the VoIP technology as an alternative solution for the te-lephone system is very attractive. The main reason is the widely expanded computer sites and also their higher effectiveness. The main goal of the work is to describe the VoIP technology and create the first publication in Czech republic which deals with this theme in details. First of all I concentrate on the explanation of the basic words, conceptions and principles necessary to fully understand the whole field. The main scope of the work is VoIP technology which is described in third chapter. There are described also the methods of voice coding, signalling protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP, IAX) and issues related with QoS. The work also covers the Skype program with descriptions of it's principles, installation and control.
