Development of Pupils' Algorithmic Thinking Through Game Projects in Scratch
Benýšek, Vojtěch ; Štípek, Jiří (advisor) ; Černochová, Miroslava (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of developing pupils' algorithmic thinking through gaming projects in the Scratch development environment. The main goal of the work was to create a set of interconnected lessons (a course) in Scratch, which could be used as educational material in computer science classes to develop algorithmic thinking of students aged 8-10 years. The theoretical part mainly addresses the concept of computational, or rather, algorithmic thinking, relying on the study of professional sources. It focuses on explaining and defining these terms, identifying the possibilities of developing algorithmic thinking with an emphasis on programming. To find further approaches to the development of algorithmic thinking, both the Czech Republic's educational plan and those of selected European countries were analyzed. The insights gained in the theoretical part were subsequently utilized in the practical part, i.e., in creating the course itself. This course consists of ten lessons, the main content of which is project creation. To motivate students, it was decided that the projects would always be games. The lessons, besides the possible solution procedure, also contain methodological notes, which alert teachers to potential pitfalls or inform them how to present the given topic. The...

This master’s thesis describes the area of operational suitability data that is established as part of the aircraft type certificate. The thesis first chapters are describing OSD, its origin and implementation. The thesis also analyzes all regulations that are connected with this matter and are focusing on the training of maintenance certifying staff. A part of this thesis deals with the description of aircraft Evektor EV-55 Outback, for which is created the educational material, and a description of its fuel system. The concept of educational material for maintenance certifying staff theoretical type rating training and an example of final test are at the end of the thesis.
Problematical issues of conservation biology education
ŘÍHOVÁ, Libuše
The aim of the thesis is to map the problematic places in nature conservation teaching in primary schools and to create suitable teaching material to help pupils better master these areas. The research included an analysis of school educational programmes and textbooks on natural history and geography for the 2nd grade of primary schools. The analysis involved 26 school educational programmes and 24 textbooks. From this analysis it emerged that nature conservation teaching in primary schools is defined relatively vaguely and cursorily and most often focused on protected areas or protected species. Nature conservation as such is mostly devoted to only two pages in the textbooks. Following the research of Říhová (2019), Vodehnalová (2019), Tvrdá (2016) and the analysis of ŠVP and textbooks, several topics or problematic places in nature conservation teaching were selected. These places were then verified by a questionnaire survey among teachers of the 2nd grade of primary school. The questionnaire survey, which was conducted electronically using the Office Forms application in January 2022, was attended by 41 respondents, across all regions of the Czech Republic. Most teachers said surprisingly that they consider these topics important and are devoted to them in the teaching, but probably not to the extent that it would be needed. Some say that they would appreciate a higher time subsidy in order to cover all areas of this issue. Teachers are the least devoted to eutrophication in the teaching. For the above mentioned reasons, a suitable didactic material was created, which includes all important topics in nature conservation teaching at elementary school. The research was supported by the Grand agency of University of South Bohemia GAJU 042/2022/S.
Problematical issues of of ecology education at lower-secondary level from the teachers' point of view
PŘIBYL, Karel
The aim of the Master´s thesis is to identify the problem areas of the eco-logy curriculum at lower secondary level and to create educational activities that would help to better manage these issues. The theoretical part summarizes the situation of the ecology curriculum within biology as a school subject at lower secondary schools. In the practical part of the thesis a questionnaire survey was conducted among biology teachers in order to identify problematic issues of eco-logy and then an interview was conducted with selected participants in the que-stionnaire survey. Teaching materials have been created for those problem areas of the ecology curriculum.
Curriculum planning in health education
Navrátilová, Klára ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (advisor) ; Záhořová, Karolína (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on curriculum planning in health education. The aim of the work was to design model lessons for a selected thematic unit of health education at a selected primary school. The model lessons are based on an analysis of the school's educational program which focused on the current document and the integration of health education into optional subjects. A partial goal of this work was also to find out whether health education teachers are informed about the concept of health education at their school. Among other things, the partial goal was to find out the current state of implementation of health education in the educational reality. Analysis of the school curriculum, observations, and interviews were used to obtain information. This diploma thesis contains twelve models of lessons of the thematic unit sex education. During the analysis was found that the school curriculum of the selected school contains incorrect information, is out of date and some fields of study are completely missing in the document. There is no subject focused on healt education in the selection of optional subjects, but we can find a partial blend in the two offered optional subjects. Interviews and observations have shown that health education teachers are unfamiliar with the concept of health...
Preparing children for planned surgeries
Suchová, Jitka ; Hájková, Vanda (advisor) ; Šumníková, Pavlína (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to find out how much and in what way children are prepared for surgical procedures. For the research were selected children at the Department of Paediatric Surgery of the Kolín Regional Hospital, from February to June 2018. In the theoretical part, risk factors for developing anxiety disorders in childhood are described. In particular, anxiety and nervousness, fear, phobia, situational anxiety and mental resilience are defined. A mixed method was used in the research. The main tool was a written questionnaire. In the case of unclear answers, an oral interview was used. In the practical part, two types of questionnaires were used. One is for hospitalized children aged 7-15 and the other for their parents. The research found that seventeen children, out of seventy, were not informed at all, or immediately before surgery. All these children were restless, or even hysterical, they were screaming and crying. The children who were informed of the operation in some way tolerated it quite well. So we can say that most of the children were prepared. Mostly it was only by conversation with parents. The educational material was not used because there is not currently appropriate one.
