Social Work With the Family, Where Lives Child With Autism

The bachelor thesis deals with social work with the family of a child with one of the autism spectrum disorders in the early intervention environment, after which the aim of this thesis is to list the possibilities of support and assistance to families with autism in terms of social work, especially early care. The thesis contains not only a general and specific characteristics of a child with autism and his family where a child lives, but also a comprehensive range of social services, an overview of available contributions and social benefits to which the family is entitled in such a situation. In the last chapter, there are real stories of families with an autistic child.
Multidisciplinary cooperation of early intervention

The subject of this work is a multidisciplinary cooperation in early care. The theoretical part characterizes early care and it's target group. Furthermore, it describes the composition of a multidisciplinary team and deals with a coordinated system of rehabilitation. The practical part is focused on the functioning of multidisciplinary cooperation in a specific facility, Arpida center. This part of the work contains qualitative research, which was carried out through interview with an early care counselor and a leading social worker. In these interviews, I deal with a project "Circle of support" which is focused on working with the family using new methods and tools. I also deal with the history and structure of Arpida center multidisciplinary team and early care.
Course of an early intervention in a child with hearing impairment

The thesis deals with the course of the early intervention in children with a hearing impairment. The main goal of this work is to map the services of early intervention in the Czech Republic, specifically in the vicinity of its capital. One of the goals is to evaluate these services from the perspective of both the parents and the professionals. The theoretical part deals with the child's personality and the initial period of his/her life, including its historical concept and importance in the family. The chapter is devoted to early intervention itself, discussing its importance, objectives and legislative inclusion. Part of this work is also devoted to the history and individual ministries that provide their services to families and children with hearing impairments. The following chapters deal with the offered possibilities of education of children with a hearing impairment and diagnostics of hearing defects, as well as compensatory aids, therapy and communication systems. The practical part mainly concerns the course of evaluation of early intervention, including early care services in the Center for Children's Hearing Tamtam, o. p. s. The results of the research survey were processed from interviews with parents and early care counselors.
Support for visual perception in children with visual and multiple disabilitis

This thesis focuses on functional assessments, visual stimulation and on offers of Centres for Early Intervention that provide services in the area of visual perception for children in early and preschool age. The goal of the thesis is to analyze interviews with workers in these centres on options and services in the area of visual aid that these centres provide for families and their children with disabilities. The first four chapters deal with theoretical background in the area of functional assessments of vision, visual stimulation and description of the group of children in early and preschool age with visual and multiple disabilities. Last but not least, these chapters also deal with organizations that provide early intervention services, their structure, composition of personnel and range of offered services. The content of the fifth chapter is a qualitative research investigation. The data were collected through interviews with instructors of visual stimulation and with an early intervention assistant. Analysis of these interviews then became basis for the subsequent definition of commendable suggestions for good practise.
Parents reaction to the birth of a child with disability

Master thesis titled Parents' reaction to a birth of a child with a disability deals with the process of coping with a birth of a disabled child and strategies that can help the family. In the first chapter, the function of a family and roles of parents in comparison with families with disabled children were defined. Reactions of parents when a disabled child is born in comparison with reactions of other social groups is discussed in second chapter. Third chapter focuses on factors which can help the parents to cope with the aforementioned situation. The last fourth chapter then depicts five families that shared their individual stories. The thesis also describes specific phases of dealing with difficult life situations including children born with disabilities. The thesis aims to analyse how parents reacted to birth of disabled child and which factors helped them to accept this reality. A research method in the form of an interview has been used. A confirmation of the hypothesis and thus achieving the thesis goal has been achieved be means of evaluation of answers from five respondents. Provision of timely assistance to a family in a difficult life situation is the primary goal of early intervention. Theoretical possibilities of early intervention are outlined in the introduction of the work. The study offers a view of early intervention not only in the context of disability but also focuses on the issue of threat to the development of a child with psychosocial risks. The theoretical knowledge is based on foreign experience, confirming the importance and necessity of early intervention in socially disadvantaged families. Results of a comparative analytical study are presented in the research part. We have opted for a qualitative approach to data treatment, with the aim to understand the phenomena of early intervention in the context of the given country. Promoting of early intervention for the inclusion of a visually impaired child to kindergarten

The diploma thesis is focused on the support of early intervention in the inclusion of a visually impaired child into kindergarten. The work describes the development of a child with visual impairment at an early age. It also focuses on early care providing support to families with children with visual or combined disabilities, pre-school education and the support from a special education center. The aim of the work was to find out what is important for the parents of a visually impaired child when choosing a kindergarten, whether the inclusion is in accordance with the legislation and whether a multidisciplinary team participates in the support. As part of the research survey, qualitative research, aimed at monitoring family support for the inclusion of a visually impaired child in kindergarten by early care, was carried out. The results show that for families when choosing a kindergarten, it is most important to obtain information about the possibilities of including a child. Early intervention provides families with important information not only about the possibilities of inclusion, but also about the use of counseling services of a special pedagogical center.
