Hypermedia educational program Halogen chemistry and its use in chemistry education of gifted pupils
Teplý, Pavel
In my dissertation, I dealt with the problem of education of gifted pupils in chemistry. I particularly focused at a detailed search in this scientific field, problems identification and suggesting as well as realisation of possible solutions. All the particular aims specif ied in the introduction were gradually accomplished. A survey among high school chemistry teachers (in the form of questionnaires) showed that there neither is a sufficient attention paid to the gifted pupils education in the Czech Republic, nor the prospective teachers are systematically prepared for this role. There are also consequent problems with gifted pupils curriculum differentiation, which most teachers consider to be more suitable for the gifted pupils education than a (lepší asi their?) segregation and separate education. Teachers lack a sufficient amount of enough information about curriculum differentiation (individual approach) and educational software, suitable and avaiable for the education of gifted pupils. On the basis of this survey, reserch results and my own experience in this field, I designed and created a hypermedia teaching aid as a XHTML program. The main theme was "Halogen chemistry", because of its universal relevance. The main purpose of this ...

Application of e-learning in teaching and testing Spanish
FILIPOVSKÝ, Vít
This diploma thesis is focused on description of methods for creating educational text and designing examples of spanish learning texts. In theoretical part I am describing The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and its utilisation in process of creating educational texts. Beside that I am analyzing educational methods for language learning and influence of new technologies in educational process. At the end of the theoretical part I am describing main methods which are used for creating educational texts. Practical part is focused on creating certain examples of my own designed educational texts based on my conclusions from the teoretical part and my own experiences. My designed educational texts contain all of the important parts and go with my personal comments that explains my decisions. The use of social network Facebook in informal learning of students in distance education: understanding and impact
DRLÍK, Martin
Social networks have become a phenomenon penetrating the lives of university students. Subject matter of the thesis is an insight into how much educational experience of distance learning students is affected by social network Facebook in informal learning and what impact this new technology has. A qualitative case study was carried out to understand the events, in context, by four research questions: (1) how are each online learning presences used in practice, (2) how does social network Facebook affect educational experience of students, (3) how do specific characteristics of social network Facebook affect the educational experience of students, (4) why is social network Facebook used in informal learning of students in distance education. This work has its roots in the revised framework of Community of Inquiry (CoI) having for dimensions  cognitive, social, teaching and learning  thus leading towards educational experience of students. We applied the social network analysis and content analysis to identify presences of online learning and their effects, also their specific social network Facebook characteristics and the key factors motivating students into using the platform. The conclusion is based on observation and in-depth questioning of six qualified study cases  students of distance learning reading Business and trading on the Internet subject, which is presented in the Faculty of Economy in University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The individual study cases were selected from the results of socio-metric research  critical, typical, and extreme case from a pool of large number of friends and a pool of strong students. The results show, that the presence of learning together with cognitive presence are the most significant kinds of online learning on social network Facebook. Specific social network Facebook characteristics were identified supporting the CoI framework by its social presence (opportunity to take up new identities, create relationships and form groups based on members' presence), teaching presence (opportunities to share in context of reputation the content) and cognitive presence (opportunity to have a conversation and share its content in context of reputation) leading towards learning presence and educational experience. Key factors motivating students into using social network Facebook for educational purposes had proven to be ubiquity, communication and cohesiveness. The results are interpreted based on theory and practice  for educators as well as ICT developers.
Massive online open course (MOOC)
Všetíček, Adam ; Wolák, Radim (advisor) ; Šírová, Tereza (referee)
The MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) bachelor thesis deals with the educational potential of media, focusing on a modern phenomenon in education - the massive open online courses. It traces their development, evaluates the benefits of online learning and identifies the differences between graduates of the massive open online courses in the Czech Republic and abroad, using the questionnaire method. Moreover, the paper documents what preceded the massive online courses, through the development and defining of distance education, e-learning and lifelong education. The readers are also made aware of the advantages and disadvantages of the massive open online courses in comparison to traditional education. The conclusion then summarizes all our findings and research results, as well as it outlines the possibilities of further development of the MOOC. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Creation of electronic materials for chemistry education
Váňová, Petra ; Šulcová, Renata (advisor) ; Zákostelná, Barbora (referee)
Creation of electronic materials for chemistry education Bc. Petra Váňová Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, 2014 The theme of my thesis is formation of educational instruments/tools for distance education and e-learning which at the same time can be inspirational for teachers of present learning. The theoretical section elaborates on the problems of distance education and e-learning. Furthermore, it describes Moodle, the system for teaching management. For the purpose of the applied section two teaching units were created during the class of Didactics of Organic Chemistry (MC280P06) at Department of Teaching and Didactics of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. The two units focus on the problematic of carboxylic acids and their derivatives. Beside the information about these topics, the contents of the teaching units should provide the students with an insight into modern study tools which increase the effectiveness of distance education as well as present learning. The teaching units are supplemented by study texts, Power Point presentations, handouts with key answers, projects/designs of chemical experiments applying theoretical knowledge to practical level, and a test designed for verifying the improvement of the course participants. The study tools were...
