Impact of socioeconomic and social factors on subjective well-being among Czech population
Tmějová, Kateřina ; Lustigová, Michala (advisor) ; Hanzlová, Radka (referee)
The main concern of this thesis is the impact of selected socioeconomic and social factors on subjective well-being of individuals in the Czech population. This thesis thus explains and describes the concept of well-being and summarizes the factors that can influence it. Using data from survey EU-SILC 2018 of Czechia, the effect of selected socioeconomic and social factors on the level of well-being of an individual is analysed using a multinomial logistic regression method. Both individually and when all selected factors interact. The analysis found that the level of education, the level of income and the quality of housing of an individual significantly affect the level of life satisfaction. The significant effect of an individual's social ties on the level of life satisfaction was found to be the most significant when socioeconomic and social factors impacted on the level of life satisfaction. Another objective was to analyse the relationship between an individual's life satisfaction and self-rated health. This relationship was found to be reciprocal, meaning that the level of life satisfaction of an individual has an impact on his subjective health evaluation and vice versa. The thesis also compares the prevalence of life satisfaction of the Czech population with other populations that also...
Saturation of the Czech territory by precipitation before extreme precipitation totals
Laco, Martin ; Müller, Miloslav (advisor) ; Ledvinka, Ondřej (referee)
The saturation of the river basin is one of the important factors that contribute to the occurrence of significant floods. Examples of floods where significant previous saturation played a significant role are, for example, the floods of 1997, 2002 and 2013. A more detailed description of saturation before heavy rainfall in the Czech Republic was missing. The main goal of the work was therefore to describe the distribution of saturation using a suitable index of saturation before cases of heavy precipitation in the Czech Republic, and also to try to describe the degree of risk associated with high saturation in combination with heavy precipitation, using the proposed indicator of the importance of relative saturation. Based on the results of the work, we can say that, in general, the saturation before heavy precipitation totals can be diverse (mainly for the shortest analyzed time intervals), but on average it is rather normal. It is slightly increased in the mountain area, especially in the east of the country and for strong precipitation totals of the longest analyzed time intervals. However, when taking into account the extremity of heavy precipitation totals, it turns out that the saturation tends to be significantly increased mainly for the heaviest precipitation of longer time intervals in...
Application of prospective indicators of demographic ageing at the district level in Czechia
Čábela, Filip ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (referee)
Application of prospective indicators of demographic ageing at the district level in Czechia Abstract The objective of this study is to analyze differences in the level of demographic ageing using prospective indicators at the LAU 1 level of the regions (districts) of Czechia in the periods 2006-2010, 2015-2019 and 2017-2021. The second objective is to compare the results of the analysis of prospective indicators with the results of a retrospective approach and to compare the differences between individual periods. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be stated that the districts Praha-západ and Praha-východ are among the youngest LAU 1 regions in Czechia. The most affected by demographic aging are the districts of the Ústecký kraj (e.g. Most, Teplice), as well as the districts Bruntál, Jeseník and Sokolov. For almost all LAU 1 regions, the values of prospective indicators increased between individual periods (with the exception of constant prospective age). The highest differences between the values of prospective and retrospective indicators are achieved by the districts in the period 2015-2019. The values of the indicators of both approaches are most similar in the districts of the Ústecký kraj, and differ the most in "urban" districts. The effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the values of...
Age-specific analysis of leukemia incidence and mortality
Soukupová, Alžběta ; Kulhánová, Ivana (advisor) ; Altová, Anna (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the trends in incidence and mortality from leukemia in Czechia with special focus on the trends by gender and age. The analysis of the incidence of leukemia was conducted between 1980 and 2018 and the analysis of mortality in the period between 2003 to 2020. The period for mortality had to be shortened due to the availability of the necessary data. For both analyses, standardized rates were calculated. Due to the low number of deaths, the standardized death rates were divided into larger age groups and combined into six-year periods. Based on the results, it was found that the incidence of leukemia is increasing in Czechia. The number of new cases of disease and death increases with age and is higher in men than in women. The trends in mortality in women is more stable than in men. Acute forms of leukemia dominate in childhood and cases of chronic leukemia begin to appear with age. In senior age, both types are represented equally. The largest number of people die each year from the acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and the least from the acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). In the chronic types of this disease, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), there are frequent fluctuations over time and their development...

Vyčítalová, Romana ; Fialová, Dana (advisor) ; Vrhel, Matěj (referee)
The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the changes in the historical landscape around the Jesenice water reservoir. In the theoretical part, the main concepts related to the above-mentioned topic are defined. The analytical part is focused only on the monitored territory. To achieve the main goal, sub-goals are set, consisting of a study of scholar literature related to the monitored area, analysis of changes in land cover before and after the construction of the Jesenice water reservoir, analysis of changes in the number of inhabitants and houses, analysis of changes in campsites and cottage settlements. To achieve the sub-goals are these methods used: the creation of maps based on orthophoto images, the creation of graphs based on data from the Český statistický úřad, the analysis of changes from aerial photographs and a structured interview. key words: Czechia, landscape, reservoir Jesenice, transformation, recreation
The caravanning - a specific form of tourism from Czech users' point of view
Tučanová, Daniela ; Fialová, Dana (advisor) ; Lochman, Josef (referee)
Caravanning is currently on the rise in Czechia. The aim of this thesis is to verify its position in tourism, analyze the factors that influence users, and specify popular destinations for users. The theoretical background consists of research conducted abroad, geography of tourism, and social geography. The research method used is a questionnaire survey, which was shared among groups on social networks focusing on caravanning. The research results show that Czech and Slovak users of motorhomes or caravans use these vehicles mobilely, mostly visit Italy and southern Moravia, and the most important factor for them is the ability to choose and be independent. The thesis can serve as a source of information for tourism organizations, users of motorhomes or caravans, or for further research. Geodemographic aspects of the take-up, provision, and availability of the selected healthcare services in Czechia
Brázová, Kateřina
Geodemographic aspects of the take-up, provision, and availability of the selected healthcare services in Czechia Abstract This work focuses on finding connections and monitoring differences in the area of take-up, provision, and availability of the selected health services in Czechia, especially from a geodemographic point of view. The main goal is to describe and evaluate the influence of basic demographic aspects, age and sex, on take-up, provision, and availability of health services, and also to clarify regional differences. This issue has so far been studied relatively limited in the Czech environment. The work mainly concerns the segment of outpatient care, which is an irreplaceable component of the healthcare system, namely specializations of general practice, outpatient diabetology, cardiology, and psychiatry. Particularly data from the General Health Insurance Company of the Czech Republic (VZP ČR) were used, which contained detailed anonymised information on take-up, provision and availability of health services. Based on these data, methods of a quantitative character were applied. The findings confirm global trends and also offer new insights for further examination of the issue. Keywords: health services, physicians, patients, age structure, demographic ageing, regional differences, Czechia
