This diploma thesis defines the required language level for alumni of the Faculty of Business and Management, Brno University of Technology from perspective of labour market and job opportunities. The thesis analyzes variable foreign languages and their required level for graduates in professional life. Even more the thesis analyzes opportunities for personal development in the field of learning languages. It specifies the languages from a professional point of view and thanks to the theoretical and analytical knowledge provides suggestions and solutions for further personal development of future graduates.
Ways of Identifying Linguistically Talented Pupils by Primary School Teachers

The title of this bachelor thesis is "Ways of Identifying Linguistically Talented Pupils by Primary School Teachers". It deals with the methods of identification of linguistically talented pupils by primary school teachers. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and describes talent and its definitions, characteristics of a talented individual and criteria of talent, types and kinds of talented individuals and their classification. It also describes displays talented pupils and their identification in a school environment, sampling of talented individuals and their education. Attention is equally dedicated to linguistic talent and talent for foreign languages itself. Practical part targets the linguistically talented pupils at primary schools and their teachers. The thesis deals especially with the talent for foreign languages. The research is concerned with the main question: How do the teachers at primary schools identify linguistically talented pupils? Furthermore, there are two sub-questions to be answered. First research sub-question relates to the characteristics of talented pupils through the eyes of their educators. THE BEGINNINGS OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING AT CZECH SCHOOLS: PERIOD TEXTBOOKS AND TEACHING METHODS BEFORE 1945

This diploma thesis deals with English textbooks used at Czech higher secondary schools in the era till 1948. The diploma thesis is composed of two parts - the theoretical and the analytical part. The theoretical part consists in a description of the educational environment, including development of the Czech education systeém (in the monarchy) and czechoslovak educational systém, with regard to the development of grammar schools (gymnázium) and bussiness schools (obchodní akademie), which is a specific type of secondary school where the Eenglish language was taught. The practical part concerns the analysis of chosen English textbooks intended for individual high school years. The selection was made with regard to the education reforms, which changed the school system.
Differentiated teaching in foreign language lessons

The aim of the Diploma thesis is to examine the concept of differentiated instruction. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part offers a closer look at the theoretical aspects related to differentiation. The attention is paid especially to general principles, process of learning, the role of the teacher, cooperative education, advantages and disadvantages of differentiation, evaluation and preparation of students and parents for the system of differentiated class. The second part focuses on the implementation of differentiating strategies into second language teaching. Based on the theoretical learning from the first part, several activities which can be used in a Spanish high school class are proposed. The thesis includes a research carried out through a questionnaire which aims to map the teacher's knowledge of differentiated instruction and its usage at Czech high schools.
French Language Textbooks Used at Czech Secondary Schools in 1948 - 1989

This diploma thesis deals with French textbooks used at Czech secondary schools in the era of the years 1948-1989. The diploma thesis is composed of two parts the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part consists in a description of the Czech educational environment, mainly the development of the Czech education system with regard to the most significant education reforms which shaped the system. The description is centred on Gymnázium, which is a specific type of secondary school where the French language was taught. The theoretical part also deals with the question of general theory of textbooks and the chosen foreign language teaching methods. The practical part concerns the analysis of 5 chosen French textbooks intended for the first class of secondary schools. The selection was made with regard to the education reforms mentioned in the theoretical part.
Reading skills and specific learning difficulties in French as a foreign language teaching

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of teaching French to children affected by learning disorders. It aims to describe various principles and their application into practice at beginners classes. The theoretical part investigates learning disorders as a whole with their causes, manifestations, diagnose and reeducational techniques and activities that are applied in practice. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to foreign language teaching in the context of learning disorders, fundamental principles and methods of partial linguistic spheres. Further on, the practical part presents a case study of two children with learning disorders during a French class. Individual activities are introduced that are appropriate for their teaching. Finally, two applications suitable for both class at school and home preparation are designed, with their main contribution being the immediate feedback that allows children to work alone. Regarding the rather practical character of the diploma thesis, a great number of examples illustrating various learning disorders are introduced in order for the reader to understand the difficulties that affected children encounter. Working with Synonyms in Teaching of Russian Language at High School

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the usage of synonyms in teaching Russian language at high schools. The theoretical part of this thesis outlines the issues of synonyms and synonymous series from the linguistic (paradigmatic relations, semantics, stylistic) and linguodidactic point of view. The theoretical part also includes the issue of vocabulary from the didactic point of view. Furthermore, in the practical part, the diversity of synonyms used in curriculum of Russian language teaching are evaluated as well as the methods of demonstration and practising of such curriculum. In the final part of this thesis my own concepts for working with synonyms in teaching Russian language at high schools are suggested.
