This bachelor's thesis aims to analyze BRIC's fast economic growth in the last decade and chances of these countries to take the leadership of the global economy. The work is divided into two parts, first one is about BRIC as a whole, that means their influence on the global economy. In the second part the attention is paid to each county separately, because each of the four BRICs has it's own historical, demographic and economic specifics.

That comparison is the main objective of this thesis. Foreign Trade Development between the Czech Republic and those Latin American countries to which the CR attributes territorial preferences
Mísařová, Jitka ; Kalínská, Emílie (advisor) ; Lukáš, Zdeněk (referee)
This Master's Degree Thesis is devoted to the study of Foreign Trade Development between the Czech Republic and those Latin American countries to which the CR attributes territorial preferences, i.e. Brazil and Mexico. International trade has gained a lot on importance in the past century, distances became shorter and the world globalized. Businesses search for new markets, new challenges and new clients. Czech companies are following the same trends. Mexico and Brazil are becoming important partners. Over the years of existence of the CR the mutual exchange with these two countries increased eight times and there are still a lot of unexploited possibilities. Brazil and Mexico are two fast growing countries with more than 100 million inhabitants. Even though they rank among poorer countries, the level of life of their inhabitants is rising and the effective demand as well. Czech products have a very good reputation in these areas, still leveraging the advantage of the well-perceived label "Made in Czechoslovakia", which has always been considered a guarantee of quality. Currently Czech products are considered as having good price-quality rapport, the best combination the client can wish. In this thesis, I am characterizing the political and economical situation of Brazil and Mexico, taking insight into the development of trade exchange between the CR and these two countries, mentioning fairs and other actions to support Czech products in the Brazilian and Mexican markets, introducing the reader to the culture of those regions and describing the situation of actual Czech companies present on the Brazilian market. I am convinced that the possibilities of collaboration between the CR and these two countries aren't yet fully exploited and that there will be a continuous growth in mutual trade exchange.

The third chapter has the form of a case study that deals with the role of transnational corporations during the economic development of Argentina with a stress on its last financial crisis (1999-2002).

The Impact of the Leftish Governments in Latin America on Economic Policies of the Countries
Langová, Kateřina ; Kašpar, Václav (advisor) ; Vošta, Milan (referee)
The present work characterizes economic policies of particular Latin American countries: Brazil, Chile (so called "light left"), Bolivia and Venezuela (so called "radical left" politically oriented countries). The economic policies implemented in particular countries are different. Brazil focuses on eradicating poverty through social programs. Chile orientates at social programs as well but aims at minimizing the differences between the rich and the poor. Policies of both radically oriented economies of Bolivia and Venezuela are focusing on nationalization of strategic industries and sectors. Further, the present work evaluates the policies in particular countries and compares the "light left" with "radical left" and analyses the sustainability and usability in a long term.
Impacts of drug trade in select states of Latin America
Kmetíková, Nina ; Písař, Pavel (advisor) ; Lipka, David (referee)
In the introduction of my thesis, devoted to the drug trade in select states of Latin America, I will address the topic of cocaine and its history. This is important for understanding the significance of the drug in the world, and -- especially in Latin America -- for comprehending that in these countries cocaine has such a strong tradition that attempts to prevent the cultivation of coca and subsequent trade with the drug will probably never succeed. I will further examine the economic and social situations in countries of Latin America and emphasize the fact that people there often have no other alternative than to engage in criminal activities, again for the most part related to cocaine. I will evaluate anti-drug policies in select Latin American countries and their effectiveness -- or rather ineffectiveness -- and conversely attempt to describe how great an influence the narco-mafia has on the economics and politics of given states and on their representatives. I intend to focus my thesis primarily on three Latin American states: Colombia, as the largest supplier of cocaine; Mexico, which is the primary transit country, through which drugs travel from Colombia to the United States, and Brazil, where children's gangs connected with drugs form.

The goal of the work is to analyse an effort of Chile for regional integration.
Determinants of success of the BRIC countries on the global market and their impact on the global economy.
Mareš, Jan ; Stuchlíková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Krč, Jakub (referee)
The BRIC nations are Brazil, Russia, India and China, for the purpose of this thesis I concentrate on Brazil and India. Potential is the word that springs to mind when Brazil and India are mentioned. Brazil and India are developing countries with low GDP per capita (PPP). I demonstrate that Brazil and India have the potential to become world economy leaders in the very near future. This thesis therefore focuses on aspects that have a significant if not a crucial impact on fulfilling the potential of Brazil and India as world economical leaders.
