The Bayreuth Music Festival in Nazi Germany

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the Bayreuth Music Festival in Nazi Germany. It is an important music and theatre festival associated mainly with the personality of the German composer Richard Wagner, who founded it. This composer is often associated with Nazi ideology for several reasons, which will be discussed in more detail in the theoretical part of the thesis, which also deals with the issue of Nazi propaganda in the media and propaganda in connection with music. After the appointment of Adolf Hitler as German Chancellor and the rise of Nazism to power, the Bayreuth Music Festival, like other cultural events, was brought under Nazi control and used as a political tool for propaganda. Their operation was thus significantly affected at this time and subsequently during the Second World War. The practical part of the thesis focuses primarily on the course and form of the Bayreuth Music Festival between 1933 and 1945, as well as on Adolf Hitler's participation in the festival regarding, among other things, his political speeches, the organization of receptions for artists, the honouring of the late composer Richard Wagner, and the financing of the festival. His personal relations with the Wagner family and the Bayreuth Music Festival are also mentioned in connection with the press.
The Weimar Germany Politics in Reflection of Czechoslovak Newspapers

The master's thesis focuses on analysis of selected Czechoslovakian party - controlled press a through it seeks to analyse attitude of Czechoslovakian political parties (belonging to to various ends of political spectrum) towards foreign and domestic policy of German government representatives and events that were taking place on the political scene of the Weimar Republic on the brink of its existence from January 1932 to Nazi seizure of power in the end of January 1933. Main emphasis of this thesis is on the analysis and interpretation of media reflection of political events taking place in Germany and political actions made by presidential cabinets headed by Heinrich Brüning, Franz von Papen and Kurt von Schleicher in the time of crisis, when instability of Weimar political system become fully apparent - this crisis eventually led to the collapse of parliamentary democracy and the rise Nazism in the interwar Germany. The thesis also deals with the reflection of parliamentary and presidential elections. The Influence of Nazi propagandy on Olympic Games in 1936

This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of Nazi propaganda on the Olympic Games in 1936. It describes the preparation and organization of the Winter Olympic Games in Garmisch- Partenkirchen and the Summer Olympic Games in Berlin. The main goal of the thesis is to find out whether the regime of the organizing country influenced the course of such an important sporting event and possibly to what extent. The Nazis were originally opposed to the idea of hosting the Olympic Games, but eventually came to the conclusion that this was a unique opportunity to present the Third Reich in the best light and gain the favour of world opinion and depict a positive image of Germany. After Adolf Hitler came to power, over time, sport was identified as one of the priorities of Nazi education, which was to strengthen and prepare the German youth for the future war. During this time, Jews were increasingly expelled from society and became second-class. Their fate in Germany provoked a wave of resentment abroad. Despite numerous boycotts of the Olympic Games, however, a record number of states and athletes took part in the Olympics in Germany. The historical development of the political party NSDAP from 1925 to 1945 and her fate.

The diploma thesis discusses with National Socialism alias Nazism, with which the National Socialist German Workers' Party (German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei; hereinafter referred to as the NSDAP) was associated. The aim of this work is to familiarize with the development of the NSDAP from its outset in relation to the arrival of Adolf Hitler and his collaborators. On the basis of specialized literature, historical sources and party documents of the NSDAP, this thesis describes and analyzes a historical digression related to the socio-economic and political situation in Germany at the time of the birth and rise of the NSDAP, the ideology of German Nazism, the role and significance of the NSDAP propaganda, and the birth and rise of the NSDAP in the years 1925 to 1945. The final part of this thesis contains the short biographies of the five closest collaborators of Adolf Hitler, who participated significantly in the rise of the NSDAP. Drug Policy in the Third Reich: Ideology vs. Practice

This final bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of drug policy in the Third Reich and aims to map the contradiction that arose in the challenging conditions of World War II between the official Nazi ideology, on which the legislation of that time was based, and practice in the German army and among Nazi top leaders. In the first part, the presented paper deals with legislation concerning narcotics and addictive substances in the period of the Weimar Republic and subsequently in the period of the Third Reich, including several international conventions that were binding for the member states of the League of Nations, where Germany was a member till 1933. In the second part, the paper focuses on scientific research in the field of chemistry and pharmacy, in the thirties of the 20th century which resulted in development of addictive stimulants. Their use in the armed forces of the German Wehrmacht and among the highest Nazi leaders is then dealt with in the third part of this paper. In conclusion, the thesis summarizes the discrepancy that arose in this regard during the Second World War between the state-constituting Nazi ideology and war practice.

Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 in the Then Czech Press

Master thesis Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 in the Czech period press focuses on the reception of the Hitler's putch atempt on 9th and 10th of November 1923 in czech and slovak written political press of the 1920's. The preliminary part of the thesis is dedicated to the political and the economical developmnet in the postwar Germany between 1918 and 1923. The following two chapters are dedicated to the Hitler's youth and early polical career and the München putsch. The second half of the thesis evaluate the reaction of the press to the Hitler's putch. It focuses on to the reaction of legitimate bavarian goveremnt and the legitimate german goverment. The press also follows the overlapt of the Münich revolution ant its suppor between some of German nationals in Czechoslovakia. The authoritarian regime of the Second Republic and the Czech Catholic elite

The thesis deals with the authoritarian regime of the Second Czechoslovak Republic (1938-1939) in its Czech part, with the reasons of its origin, its description and its placement in the contemporary context. It shows the share of Catholic, politic and social elites in its creation as well as in efforts to enforce the Christian character of the new regime. It considers then critical stances against democracy of the Catholic Church, it compares authoritarian regime of the Second Republic with similiar regimes in then Europe and it tries to morally and ethically evaluate then stances of the Czech elites. The thesis also deals with anti-Jewish and anti-Gypsy measures of the Second Republic, and it tries to offer a valuable lesson from its development. Word-formation - grammatically / semantically / pragmatically - on the example of selected political speeches

This thesis examines selected political speeches with regard to word-formation and its processes, namely from the grammatical, semantic, and pragmatic points of view. The analyzed political speeches are the Otto von Bismarck's speech delivered on 20 July 1870, the Adolf Hitler's speech delivered on 1 September 1939, the Willy Brandt's speech delivered on 10 November 1989, and the Angela Merkel's speech from 14 December 2015. This is an interdisciplinary thesis which deals with politics, history, and linguistics. The thesis examines four different periods, namely Bismarck's era, Nazism, the Federal Republic of Germany between 1949 and 1990, and the contemporary Federal Republic of Germany. These periods are analyzed from the political, historical, and socio-cultural points of view. Subsequently, the selected political speeches are analyzed with respect to word- formation, its processes, and the period in which they were delivered. The individual results are then compared and certain conclusions are drawn from the comparison. Kefíref as marfketing fenomen

The thesis Kefírer: the marketing phenomenon aims to analyse this unusual Czech brand that is based on Adolf Hitler parody. The brand gained attention due to black humour communication connected to Hitler and became very popular. Nevetheless, it was just a short- time effect. Firstly, the thesis presents the brand creation and the brand development and compares this case to similar trends. The next part describes marketing, marketing communications and brand building related to Kefírer. The next chapter analyses the specifics of marketing texts especially from the point of stylistics. The following part states the fundings of the research conducted by the author. Revealed facts allow to clarify brand attitude and efficiency of marketing communications. The last chapter aims to evaluate the unique case of Kefírer and give a recommendation for the other brands.
