School maturity and preparation of the child the 1st grade from the point of view of speech therapy

This diploma thesis deals with speech skills, the skills associated with speech, and children's maturity and readiness for school before starting Year 1 of primary school. Besides, it discusses the methods applied in the children's preparation for school entry. The theoretical part of this work focuses on maturity and readiness for school, and on the other hand immaturity and unreadiness, their diagnosis and deferred school entry. Furthermore, it specifies the characteristics of a pre-school child, describing their motor, cognitive, social and motivational-volitional development. The last section of this part deals with a pre-schooler's communication, and with the language, speech and communication according to the framework educational programme for pre-school education. It also studies the development of communication, risk factors of speech development, communication disorders and a child with communication disorders in nursery school. The introduction to the practical part presents the objectives and the methodology of qualitative research and describes the research sample. Besides, it includes the process, evaluation, and results of a pre-schooler's diagnosis and of a preliminary test of a pre-schooler's maturity. Cooperation of kindergarten and elementary school in the preparation of preschool children for starting elementary school.

The topic of the work is Cooperation of kindergarten and primary school in the preparation of pre-school children for primary school. The task of this pre-school education is to provide qualitative foundations for further education and to prepare the child for successful admission to primary school. Cooperation between the two educational establishments is necessary for the child to have a smooth transition from kindergarten to primary school. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part engages with the meaning of preschool education, with the personality of the preschool educator, the upbringing and education of the child before entering the primary school, family and its cooperation with the kindergarten, the childs adaptation from the kindergarten into the primary school, development of the preschool child and the question of school maturity. As next the childs needs in grade one, the role of a pupil, emotional difficulties of the young pupil and teacher in grade one of the primary school. The practical part is focused on mapping the cooperation of kindergartens, primary and small-town schools in the Pilsen region. For this inquiry a quality research was used. This research was carried out with the help of a half-structured conversation. The participants were teachers from kindergartens and primary schools of the Pilsen Region.
THE DEVELOPMENT OF GRAPHOMOTORIC SKILLS OF CHILDREN IN PRE-SCHOOL AGE AND CHILDREN IN THE FIRST GRADE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The topic of this bachelor´s thesis is development of graphomotor skills of pre-school age and early school age children. The aim is creation of supportive programme for the development of the graphomotor skills and its verification in practice. The theoretical part is devoted to the systems influencing the motor skills development. This part of thesis describes also the entire area of motor skills and other relating topics such as working habits for drawing and writing, laterality, pre-school age and early school age. The practical part deals with creation and realization of supportive programme for chosen group of children. It is focused on the development of graphomotor skills by a comprehensive way. The evaluation of the gained data and the analysis of the results are also a component of the practical part of the thesis.
School maturity of boys and girl in kindergarten

The bachelor thesis focuses on the level of school maturity of girls and boys and their readiness to enter the primary school from the point of view of a kindergarten teacher. It aimed to conduct diagnostics on selected children and monitor the results concerning their gender. This thesis is devided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with preschool children's development and the criteria according to which school maturity is assessed. Methods of structured observation and analysis of diagnostic tests were used in the practical part to collect data. The examined sample of children was divided into two groups according to gender. The school maturity tests which were analysed in this work are described and evaluated individually.
School maturity and preparedness from the point of view of speech therapists

This diploma thesis focuses on school maturity and preparedness from the perspective of speech-language therapists. The theoretical part focuses on the preschool child, his characteristics, and growth in all areas, including speech. Furthermore, it introduces speech disorders in preschool children by describing what impaired communication skills are and also discusses the most common speech disorders among preschool children. The thesis also presents information about speech therapy prevention, stating what its principles are, and also introduces preschool education in the context of speech therapy prevention. The last chapter deals with the child's preparation for entering the first grade, explains the difference between school maturity and school preparedness and introduces school immaturity and school deferrals. The practical part is prepared with the help of a qualitative research investigation, where a structured interview with open questions was used. The respondents consisted of speech therapists working in the health or education department. A total of 12 interviews were conducted. The role of the school psychologist in Kindergarten Bc. Kateřina Denysjuková 2022 ABSTRACT This paper will focus on the role of the school psychologist in the Czech state kindergarten environment. The thesis is a pioneer in this field, as it is a new and under-reported topic in the literature. The theoretical part will focus mainly on the summary of the job description and the role of the school psychologist as such, on the legislative positions enabling this new trend, on the possibilities and image of psychological counselling for preschool children and its comparison with the abilities of the school psychologist. It will also focus on the presumed reasons for the intervention of the school psychologist in kindergartens in terms of common difficulties of preschool children. The empirical part will summarize the image of the work of the school psychologist in the preschool. This part will be based on a qualitative analysis of interviews with school psychologists working for the Kindergarten. School maturity and preparedness of a child for the 1 st grade from the point of view of speech

The thesis focuses on the issue of school maturity and school readiness from the point of view of speech therapy such as its diagnosis and individual abilities that are needed for entering first classes of a primary school. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the preschool stage, school maturity and school readiness, registering for first class, the postponement of the school attendance, and communication disabilities of preschoolers. The aim of the empirical part of the thesis is to find out the standard of the school maturity and school readiness of children in an ordinary group as well as in a group with speech therapy of the same nursery. Tests are going to be used to find out the school maturity and school readiness such as Preliminary Test of School Maturity - verbal thinking, Test of Auditory Distinction - WM, Kwint Psychomotor Examination, and Examination of Language Skills for Preschoolers. Furthermore, the obtained data will be analysed and compared. The data collection will take place in Nursery School Zelenka in Turnov.
