Chloe Gong's These Violent Delights Duology as a Retelling of William Shakespeare`s Romeo and Juliet

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to discuss and analyse the analogies between the play Romeo and Juliet (1597) by William Shakespeare and its retelling These Violent Delights (2020) and Our Violent Ends (2021) by Chloe Gong. It further aims to examine the aforementioned literary works in the context of identity and the aspects that constitute it. The thesis also focuses on the author's intentions and the significance of her focus in the duology under discussion. The theoretical part provides the necessary terminology and introduction to the works of both authors. It also includes a necessary introduction to the historical context of Shanghai in the late 1920s, which serves to an analysis of its depiction in Chloe Gong's work. The practical part is divided into selected influences on identity and how they shape the characters in the books. The examination focuses on the influence of family and family background, romantic relationships and the environment and place in which one grew up. National mythology of the world exhibition EXPO 2010 in Shanghai

This diploma thesis deals with the national presentation of the Czech Republic at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai in terms of mythology, symbols, signs and codes. It describes the history of the World Exhibitions, attempts to highlight Czechoslovak achievements and on the basis of that to define key points of successful communication for an international, predominately Chinese audience. By comparing information on traditional Chinese symbols and values with that of Czech explains correlations between Czech and Chinese culture. This can help visitors from China identify with the Czech Republic. A mythological analysis is executed examining the exterior of the Czech pavilion, the exhibition inside, and notes narrative structures of individual exhibits and how they work to provide the preferred interpretation. Part of the overall analysis includes an overview of supporting events, which also help to strengthen the perception of Czech Republic to visitors. The information gleaned is used to summarize learnings that could be useful for the upcoming EXPO in Milan in 2015.
The Ranking of Shanghai Real Estate Price Determinants

This thesis studies the price determinants of newly developed residential buildings in Shanghai. It introduces the history and present of real estate market in PRC and Shanghai. It further describes the characteristics, trends, and structural problems the market is facing now, as well as possible future development. The empirical research is based on regression analysis using ordinary least squares method (OLS). The data analysis is performed using STATA statistical software in version 14. Statistically significant determinants are ranked according to their impact. The most impactful determinant is monetary supply. Followed by interest rate, SSE index, income and the amount of finished real estate investments. The least significant determinant is the floor space of newly constructed residential buildings in Shanghai.

Shanghai versus Hong Kong: Global economic and transport competition Abstract The main objective of the work is to compare global position of two chinese cities Shanghai and Hong Kong. The first part compares financial position of the cities, which comes out from the historical background of the cities and actual economic situation. The global transport competition in ship and air transport is compared in the second part of the work. Final analysis summarises the results and comes out with the statement of stronger city. Zvláštnosti podnikatelského prostředí města Šanghaj s přihlédnutím ke Světové výstavě EXPO 2010

Shanghai is the economic center of today's second largest economy in the world. This bachelor thesis deals with the business environment of Shanghai, taking into account its specifics and differences from the rest of the People's Republic of China. The thesis is thus an analysis of some particular business conditions and features -- namely economic, investment, political, legal, technological, cultural and social. It further analyses the emergence of the city and its gradual transformation into the financial and trading hub of Asia. Throughout the thesis, Shanghai is continuously put in the context of entire China, whereby the author intends to point out to the immense importance of the local economy for the national one. Shanghai's efforts to become the global metropolis and present itself as the most suitable city for foreign investment in China are further demonstrated on the basis of the World Expo 2010. That implies the subgoal of the thesis -- to spot the reasons for holding the exposition in China and sum up its consequences for the city, the region and China itself.

This thesis is focusing on the topic of world expositions EXPO and their meaning. Special attention is dedicated also to the participation of the Czech Republic in exposition. The basis of this work is the presentation of these events, general facts about them and information about the organizers. The important part is also history and development. Special attention is devoted to two milestones: Brussels Expo 1958 and Aichi Expo 2005. The impetus for the development of this theme was the Expo, which took place in Shanghai in 2010 and became the largest and most expensive event in history. The work is to evaluate the importance of the pros and cons of organizing the world's fair.
