Representation of the sixties of 20th century in literary autobiography

This work is an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the 1960s through an in-depth analysis of selected literary autobiographies. The first section is devoted to the theoretical foundation for exploring the chosen four texts of autobiographical literature. It is based on the analysis and subsequent comparison diaries of Ivan Diviš and Pavel Juráček and the memory of Vaclav Černý and Ota Filip. Additionally, this paper examines how these writers created an image of the 1960s and early 1970s.mFurther exploration includes narrative elements, for example, by what means texts are constructed, character space time, composition, and relationship to the audience. Moreover, the meaning of writing autobiographical literature, specifically the selected works, will be explored. Lastly, these major themes set the stage for the comprehensive analysis of the authors' works, revealing the creative design, history, society and culture of their time.

Reflexion of Antiquity in Historical Novels of Jarmila Loukotková

This bachelor thesis deals with the depiction of antiquity in historical novels by Jarmila Loukotková. The work first defines the concept of the "historical novelˮ and its tradition, with an emphasis on its development in the Czech lands. The next part of the work focuses on the personality of Jarmila Loukotková and her work in the literary field. In the last part the bachelor thesis focuses on the historical period discussed in selected novels by the writer. This is followed by an analysis of the historical novels about the ancient period, namely There is no Roman people (1949) and Laughter underneath a mask (1977), in terms of historical credibility. For comparison, I used Tacitus's Annales, Polybius's History IV, Plutarch's Parallel Biographies of Famous Greeks and Romans, and Suetoniusʼs Biographies of Twelve Emperors. The last part of my bachelor's thesis will focus on how the everyday life of ancient Rome is depicted in selected novels by J. Loukotková. I will pay the greatest attention to how the coexistence of man and woman is treated in the novels. Media responses of literary works with the war and collectivization theme of Jan Procházka

The bachelor thesis Critical Response to Jan Procházka's literary work with war and collectivization theme aims to map the response to Procházka's three works with the mentioned themes (Zelené obzory, Ať žije republika, Kočár do Vídně) in contemporary newspapers and magazines. Ahead of the chapter including analysis of the three works and critical responses, there is chapter that aims to describe life and work of Jan Procházka as well as his role in society and triple role as writer, screenwriter and publicist, since all of them affected his work. The results of this thesis were achieved by the qualitative analysis of media reception as well as other publications about author's life and work. Because of the period in which the chosen pieces were published, this thesis focuses mainly on the 60's and 70's of the 20th century.
