The vote of non-confidence in Czech parliament - the analysis of the causes and strategies

The main topic of this thesis is the vote of non-confidence in the Czech Republic. The main objective is to analyse functioning of the previous Czech governments and the causes that led to the vote of non-confidence. From the theoretical point of view the work concerns the parliamentary systems as such, mutual functioning of the Parliament and the government and describes the process of the vote of confidence and non-confidence. The author compares situations during the Czechoslovak Republic (1918--1938) and the present Czech Republic in terms of the regulations of the vote of confidence and non-confidence in different constitutions. The empirical part focuses on the individual governments from 1992 to the present day and the events that led to request for the vote of non-confidence. In conclusion, in Czech political practice are used all the controlling instruments such as question time or investigative committees, but the vote of non-confidence remains the most noticeable and is more of a tool for the rivalry over power than for resolving governmental problems.

The aim of dissertation is analysis of Baťa's housing policy in Czechoslovakia in first one-half of 20. Century. It analyzes a research, quality and facilities of housing stock in Zlín. It defines properties of housing and housing policy in theoretical part of dissertation, these characteristics are applied to situation in Czech Republic. The housing policy of firms analyzes through the use of chosen firms. The partial aim of dissertation is the analysis of Baťa's housing policy in light of specifics and the compare with government housing policy. The possible equipments design with inspiration of Baťa's housing policy. These will be applicable to readout in Czech Republic.
The development of the Czechoslovac economics during the period of the first post-war years (1918 – 1922)

This bachelor theses focuses on the period of the first post-war years (1918 -- 1922), which played the crucial role in forming of the economics of the newly established Czechoslovac republic. The work targets the complex process of the establishment of the new independent state, the possibilities of the economic collaboration with the other successions states after the desintegration of the Austro -- Hungarian monarchy. The topic continues with the process of building-up of the independent economy and supression of the influence of the previous economic centres of the monarchy. The steps necessary for the economic emancipation were included in the Economic Law, that had been prepared before the break up of the monarchy. These economic devices included customs and monetary separation, domestication and repatriation of the capital and land reform. The work tries to analyse the whole process.
The Czechoslovak Republik and the Permanent Court of International Justice

The thesis deals with the role of Czechoslovakia in the forming and functioning of the Permanent Court of International Justice. The first part briefly reviews the history of this institution, its mechanisms, jurisdiction and the sources of law it followed. The next part of the thesis is focused on the Czechoslovak involvement in the Court's activities. Then, two cases that the Court dealt with are analysed in detail. The first one is the advisory opinion related to the delimitation of border between Czechoslovakia and Poland in the area of Javořina in 1923. The second case is the appeal from a judgement of the Hungaro/Czechoslovak Mixed Tribunal related to the property of the university in Budapest.
The Economic Situation of the Second Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the economic situation of the Second Republic. Second Republic is a sign of the political system in Czechoslovakia between the two occupation, namely from 1 October 1938 to 15 March 1939. The aim of the work is according to analysis adopted economic policies determine what form of state in fact the Second Republic was. Another intention of the work is to identify the objectives of economic and monetary policy and to compare the views of prominent representatives of economic and monetary policy. The work is based on the analysis of archival documents from the archives of the Czech National Bank, the National Archive of the Czech Republic and the Central Statistical Library. It became clear that in the significantly weakened Czechoslovak Republic, in which political regime showed signs of becoming increasingly authoritarian state, since the first days after the Munich Agreement promote both the left and right-wing economic policy recommendations and requirements. One of the key features of the economic situation of the Second Republic was characterized by mutual co-existence of state controlled economy and private property.
Czechoslovak land reform of 1919 - 1921 from the position of landowners with a focus on the noble family Šternberk

The work covers opinions of two main political parties in the process of discussion about land reform during years 1919-1921. Argumentation, discussion and landowner 's achieved results will be critically examinated. Further, it focuses on nobel family of Sternberg and their involvement in that land reform based on atttempt to reconstruct their financial and property rights circumstances. The biggest part of work is dedicated to Association of czechoslovakian landowners and its attitude and activities concerning information on their relation to Association of czechoslovakian republican owners and rentals. This bachelor work draw on the newest scientific literature, State local archive in Prague, National archive in Prague, archive fond Sternberg and supplemented by contemporary periodicals.
Foreign trade of the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1918-1938. Its strenghts and weaknesses sites

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the foreign trade of the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1918-1938. Particulary Czechoslovak trade policy analysation and characterizations its individual fases. Next, the thesis makes on observation on the structure of foreign trade, the share size of import and export of each product (according to Brusel's nomenclature) and compares this data with other European countries. Furthermore this thesis concentrates on the most significant trade partners of the Czechoslovak Republic. Why did not major Czechoslovak partners become the eastern democracies and what problems did the little agreement's countries bring? This thesis analyzes also the problematic of the competitive ability of the Czechoslovak products on the foreign market.
Trade Union movement in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in the years 1948- 1960

My bachelor work deals with the Trade Union movement in the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1948 -- 1960. Chapter I concerns itself with the foundation of the Revolutionary Union Movement in 1945 and its organization structure. Further chapters map the development and the role of Union movement under the new post-February Czechoslovakia's political and economic circumstances. The fundamental chapters refer to the relationships between Unions and Communist power, the position of Unions in the socialist system and within the National Front, and the relationships between Unions and the socialist state. One of the chapters deals with the role of Unions and methods of Union movement. I am seeking to illustrate a general view of the 1950s Union movement and analyze the relationship between Unions and political power in the given period. My work is grounded on the published sources and the latest special literature.
