Support of the education of socially disadvantaged Roma pupils in a selected primary school

This thesis focuses on the issue of support strategies used for socially disadvantaged Romani pupils in a selected primary school. In the theoretical part, it defines the basic concept of social disadvantage, the term socially disadvantaged pupil, and the reasons for educational failure due to social disadvantage. It introduces the fundamental manifestations of social disadvantage and the barriers it creates in the educational process. The thesis further specifies the issue of the Romani ethnicity, provides a brief history of the Roma people, describes the specifics of Romani families, the upbringing of children, and the position of individual family members. It then addresses the issue of Roma education and the support system. In the context of the thesis topic, it describes the support strategies used in the education of socially disadvantaged Romani pupils. The aim of the practical part was to find out how support for the education of social disadvantaged Romani pupils is implemented in a selected primary school. Using a semi- structured interview method, it was determined which support mechanisms the school uses and with what effect, as well as which support options are not used and why. The thesis The Possibilities of Bibliotherapy in the Development of Communication Skills of Young School-Age Children with Symptomatic Speech Disorder deals with the question whether bibliotherapy can be used in the educational process as one of the methods for developing communication skills. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical one focuses on the characteristics of the younger school age and language development in this period in order to better understand the issue of symptomatic speech disorders. Possible deviations in language development which lead to this impairment of communication ability are explained. The paper also describes brief characteristics of symptomatic speech disorders in children with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment and ADHD. Finally, specific recommendations appropriate when communicating with students suffering from communication disorders are provided. Furthermore, the theoretical part summarizes the findings in the field of bibliotherapy and its possible use with younger school-age children. The using of developmental bibliotherapy in stressful situations of preschool and primary school age children

The diploma thesis covers about the use of developmental bibliotherapy in stressful situations of preschool and primary school age children. In first chapter thesis defined bibliotherapy, especially developmental bibliotherapy. In second chapter thesis directed characteristics of preschool and primary school age children, characterizes the most common stressful situations, with which children of this age can meet - divorce of their parents, illnesses and quarantine, bereavement or toleration of difference. The goal of this diploma thesis is making the stories and accompany them with proposals of bibliotherapy activities for working in stressfull situations of preschool and primary school age children.
Reading interests of people with Asperger's syndrome

This diploma thesis deals with the relationship to reading in people with Asperger's syndrome. The aim of the thesis is to find out what the individual reading experiences of selected people with Asperger's syndrome are. The research focuses on their reading interests, experiencing of a literary story and motivation to read. The theoretical part of the thesis characterizes autism, the autism triad, the psychological theory of autism, and Asperger's syndrome. Reading, functions of literature, reading interests and reading of people on the autism spectrum are also described. The practical part of the thesis is based on semi-structured interviews with ten adults with Asperger's syndrome, who are presented through case studies. Interviews are analysed using open coding. The research found that the respondents read books of various genres, fiction and non-fiction. They form different relationships with literary characters, they also experience the story emotionally. They appreciate the interesting plot of the book, the unusualness or the depicted atmosphere. Motivation factors for reading are relaxation, the search for life wisdom, education, and help with psychological problems or in the field of social relationships. KEYWORDS Reading. Reader interest. Development of graphomotor skills in preschool children

- anglicky Title: Development of graphomotorics in pre-school children The present diploma thesis is focused on the topic of development of graphomotorics in pre- school children. The theoretical part deals with the description of children in pre-school age and everything related to this stage of life: the curricular documents, the concept of school preparedness and readiness as well as its diagnostics. The second half of the theoretical part describes the area of graphomotoric skills - its development and stages it undergoes, children drawings and its development and finally an overview of possible roadblocks and dysfunctions in graphomotorics. The empirical presents the result of research conducted via questionnaire for parents of pre-school children. Its aim was to uncover how well the parents are informed about and how much they are interested in the development of graphomotorics of their pre- school children.
