Evolutionary Design for Circuit Approximation
Dvořáček, Petr ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Sekanina, Lukáš (advisor)
In recent years, there has been a strong need for the design of integrated  circuits showing low power consumption. It is possible to create intentionally approximate circuits which don't fully implement the specified logic behaviour, but exhibit improvements in term of area, delay and power consumption. These circuits can be used in many error resilient applications, especially in signal and image processing, computer graphics, computer vision and machine learning. This work describes an evolutionary approach to approximate design of arithmetic circuits and other more complex systems. This text presents a parallel calculation of a fitness function. The proposed method accelerated evaluation of 8-bit approximate multiplier 170 times in comparison with the common version. Evolved approximate circuits were used in different types of edge detectors.
IoT Based on SoC MT7688
Lužný, Jakub ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of an embedded device for Internet of Things based on the MediaTek MT7688A platform. It explores the capabilities of this platform and available System on Module solutions. Based on this findings, a fully functional prototype of such a device is implemented. To demonstratie abilities of the device, a web application is programmed that shows the data received over Wireless M-Bus bus.
Identification and Decoding of Wireless Communication Using SDR
Matulka, Filip ; Bidlo, Michal (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to create the system that uses concept of software defined radio. This system is capable of automatically identifying the communication parameteres and subsequent decoding of wireless communication. The thesis focus on the wireless system operationg in unlicened frequency band and cosidering fundamental modulation metods. The result is tested on two independent wireless systems that verify ability to automatically identify the communication parameters.

Mudrík, Samuel ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kaštil, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about creating of educational tool - software program able to simulate influence of electromagnetic force on subatomic particles. First part contains requested attributes, it is followed by overview of existing solutions, specifications analysis and detailed description of development and implementation. In the last part there is summary of results and positives of this work.
Evolutionary Algorithms in Convolutional Neural Network Design
Badáň, Filip ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Sekanina, Lukáš (advisor)
This work focuses on automatization of neural network design via the so-called neuroevolution, which employs evolutionary algorithms to construct artificial neural networks or optimise their parameters. The goal of the project is to design and implement an evolutionary algorithm which can be used in the process of designing and optimizing topologies of convolutional neural networks. The effectiveness of the proposed framework was experimentally evaluated on tasks of image classification on datasets MNIST and CIFAR10 and compared with relevant solutions. The results showed that neuroevolution has a potential to successfully find accurate and effective convolutional neural network architectures.
Neural Networks Classifier Design using Genetic Algorithm
Tomášek, Michal ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Mrázek, Vojtěch (advisor)
The aim of this work is the genetic design of neural networks, which are able to classify within various classification tasks. In order to create these neural networks, algorithm called NeuroEvolution of Augmenting Topologies (also known as NEAT) is used. Also the idea of preprocessing, which is included in implemented result, is proposed. The goal of preprocessing is to reduce the computational requirements for processing of benchmark datasets for classification accuracy. The result of this work is a set of experiments conducted over a data set for cancer cells detection and a database of handwritten digits MNIST. Classifiers generated for the cancer cells exhibits over 99 % accuracy and in experiment MNIST reduces computational requirements more than 10 % with bringing negligible error of size 0.17 %.
Evolutionary Circuit Design at the Transistor Level
Žaloudek, Luděk ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Sekanina, Lukáš (advisor)
This project deals with evolutionary design of electronic circuits with an emphasis on digital circuits. It describes the theoretical basics for the evolutionary design of circuits on computer systems, including the explanation of Genetic Programming and Evolutionary Strategies, possible design levels of electronic circuits, CMOS technology overview, also the overview of the most important evolutionary circuits design methods like development and Cartesian Genetic Programming. Next introduced is a new method of digital circuits design on the transistor level, which is based on CGP. Also a design system using this new method is introduced. Finally, the experiments performed with this system are described and evaluated.
Design and Implementation of a Software UART for Microcontrollers from HC08 Family
Kučera, Pavel ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with problematics of serial communication, specially of serial asynchronous communication of microcontrollers from HC08 family. Thesis includes analysis of SCI module, which provides serial asynchronous communication of microcontrollers. On a basis of the analysis the software solution of UART (sUART) for microcontrollers from HC08 family, which have no SCI module, was created. SUART interface was successfully tested by communication with a computer using RS-232 interface as well as by communication between several microcontrollers.
