Comparison of competency models of headmasters at elementary schools in Prague 10

The thesis deals with the comparison of the competency models of headmaster of elementary schools in Prague 10. The theoretical part explains the basic terms as "competency", "key competency" and compares the definitions of different scientific sources. It describes their structure as well as the life cycle. Further on the thesis deals with the competency models in general and primarily with the models of the managers of the schools. The role of the competency model is highlighted as well as its reasons and its implementation. In the practical part the thesis deals with the qualitative investigation where the author compares the competency models that were created by shadowing and some other additional methods. The competencies were evaluated on base of the criteria of the competency model created by I. Lhotkova (2012). The output of the investigation is a case study in which the differences of the headmaster competencies in Prague 10, with similar conditions of leading the schools and with similar support from founders, are described. Big discrepancy in the competencies were not proved, on the other hand similar issues were detected.

Motivating factors influencing the work of directors of nursery school

Master's thesis entitled Motivating factors influencing the work of directors of nursery schools aims to identify motivational factors influencing the work of headmasters. The main objective of the research is to determine which of motivation, stimulation, and demotivating factors affect headmasters of nursery schools of the Pardubice Region. Based on quantitative and qualitative research lead to the fulfillment of specific objectives. The first partial objective is to conclude from created questions for a research and carrying out research among nursery schools among Managers of Pardubice region through a questionnaire survey and subsequent analysis of the data,what motivational factors, stimulation, demotivating and to what extent, affect the work of directors of nursery schools in Pardubice region. The second partial objective is to compare the motivational factors influencing the work of selected directors surveyed of nursery schools in Pardubice region at different stages of their professional development and to identify changes in the scope of these factors of motivation. The research suggests that motivational factors influence the work of directors rather moderately, stimulatory factors in their work are mostly highly motivating and demotivating factors are strongly demotivating. Comparison of the educational needs of school managers and non school managers

The topic of this diploma's thesis is comparison of the educational needs of school managers and managers from the private business sector. The theoretical part deals with concept of management, the definition of school management and specifics of school. It also focuses on managers, education of managers, including educational needs, their identification and saturation through further education. The aim of the research part is to identify educational needs and phenomena associated with them and the subsequent comparison between schools and non-school managers. The core of the thesis is qualitative research conducted by semistructured interview with four representatives of school management and four representatives of non school management. During the subsequent analysis were used the principles of grounded theory. Identified fields of educational needs are very similar in both groups, significant differences were identified in the phenomena related to educational needs.
