The effectivity of ecoducts for wildlife crossing of landscape fragmented by a highway network
Leštinová, Eliška ; Sedláček, Ondřej (advisor) ; Uhlíková, Jitka (referee)
Ecoducts or wildlife overpasses are migration objects that are often built not only in the Czech Republic, but in Europe as well. They enable animals to safely cross an obstacle, for example a road or a railway. Furthermore, ecoducts enlarge the home ranges of species, ensure gene flow between populations, and influence interspecies interactions. Ecoducts built in the Czech Republic are often criticized, especially because of their high cost and low efficiency. Majority of the existing studies compare ecoducts with other types of migration objects, such as underpasses, and often focus on selected aspects of these structures, such as their dimensions or location. There are very few summarizing studies focusing solely on ecoducts and what influences their permeability for animals. In this paper, I summarize what species are using ecoducts in Europe and North America, and I discuss how is the use of an ecoduct by animals affected by anthropogenic disturbances, design of the ecoduct, and its location in the landscape. Lastly, I describe monitoring methods used when studying wildlife overpasses. In the end, I summarize gained knowledge and list gaps in the existing research.
Hydraulic verification of water flow
Adámek, Milan ; Julínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a comprehensive hydraulic assessment of the Svitava River with an emphasis on nature-based flood control measures and watercourse revitalization. In the theoretical part, an overview of current approaches to watercourse revitalization and flood protection is given. The practical part focuses on a detailed analysis of water flow in a specific section of the Svitava River, which is performed using a computational tool such as HEC-RAS. On the basis of the obtained results, various options for stream revitalisation and flood protection are proposed and subsequently subjected to hydraulic assessment.
Clod Computing System for Real-time Data Processing
Nosková, Daša ; Jeřábek, Kamil (referee) ; Rychlý, Marek (advisor)
This thesis focuses on designing a system for processing a large stream of geo-localized temporal data in real-time. The theoretical part addresses concepts and tools for real-time data processing and characteristics of real-time systems. The thesis introduces the design and architecture of a scalable system that utilizes message queues. Furthermore, the main concepts of implementation of the proposed system are outlined, using technologies emphasizing fast response times. As part of the work, a scalable system capable of processing a large data stream was developed.
Improving the production process
Sušeň, Martin ; Machačová, Simona (referee) ; Juřica, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on business processes, where the aim is to propose improvements to the production processes in the manufacture of a cylindrical rotor, in order to increase productivity and reduce costs. The thesis is carried out in Innomotics Ltd. The theoretical part defines and describes the basic concepts related to the process and its possible analyses. The analytical part is then used to introduce the company and their processes, but is primarily concerned with mapping the production process, focusing mainly on material flow, productivity at each site and transport between sites. Based on the analyses, proposals are then made that aim to improve the entire production process. Finally, the overall benefits of this proposal for the company and its financial cost are also evaluated.
Valuation of the Firm by Using Income Capitalization Approach
Burková, Veronika ; Měřínský, Jiří (referee) ; Karas, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the valuation of the firm Kompan Czech Republic, s. r. o. by using income capitalization approach. Especially the method of discounted cash flow in variant entity and economic value added. For this purpose the thesis is divided into several parts. The first part is focused on the basic terms and definitions which are necessary to determine the value of the firm. The next parts include information about the company, strategic analysis, prognosis of value drivers, financial plan and the weighted cost of capital. In conclusion, the valuation of the company as of 1.1.2020 is performed.
Neural Networks for Video Quality Enhancement
Analysis of material flow in the loading system production using computer simulation
Loprais, Pavel ; Kašpárek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Urbánek, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on the elaboration of a literary review of computer software used for modelling and simulating material flow in manufacturing. According to the proposed layout concept, a computer simulation model of loading circuits will be created, including the configuration of basic operational parameters using the Plant Simulation program. The work involves a detailed description of information flows in the loading line, including the implementation of proposed systems into the computer model. An analysis will be conducted to assess the impact of simulation model parameters on the discussed characteristics of material and information flows.
Design of a contemporary sustainable urban structure for a 21st century city
Bretterová, Anna ; Boulaz, Ivana (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
This work focuses on the design of a new urban structure in the Břeclav and the connection of separate parts of the city while respecting the protection zones. It also includes the design of new public spaces – streets, parks, squares. The proposed solution tries to support and further develop the character of the city - the close connection with nature and the frequent use of bicycle transport. The work also deals with the revitalization of the current course of the Dyje River - the re-meandering and restoration of the old river arm. Finally, space is also dedicated to improving the quality of transport in Břeclav.
Classifier of traffic states and detectors
Březina, Ondřej ; Richter, Miloslav (referee) ; Janáková, Ilona (advisor)
The work deals with the description of sources of traffic data and methods of analysis of these data. Furthermore, states for the classification of traffic and detectors in the MATLAB environment are designed and implemented in the work. Finally, traffic flow models are modeled, which can also be used for traffic flow prediction.
Analysis of material flow in a production line using computer simulation
Karas, Lukáš ; Kašpárek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Urbánek, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor ‘s thesis deals with the creation of a material flow analysis of the production system. The first part of the thesis is focused on the literature search of logistics and computer simulation software. The second part deals with the creation of the layout of the production system and the creation of a simulation model. Simulations are performed using the Technomatix Plant Simulation software developed by Siemens company. In the third part, an analysis of the results of the matrix of simulation experiments is carried out. At the end of the work, an evaluation of the results of the performed analyzes is carried out.
