Rural changes after World War II in the former Horšovský Týn district
Švarc, Ondřej ; Koura, Petr (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jiří (referee)
The target of this diploma thesis is the transformation of the countryside after the Second World War in the territory of the former district of Horšovský Týn, whose existence is defined in the years 1945-1960. The work, based on the study of primary sources from the State District Archive of Domažlice, located in Horšovský Týn (primarily from the ONV Horšovský Týn resource), the study of periodicals and secondary literature creates a picture of the post-war border district, which had to go through a series of revolutionary changes during its existence. The work follows the demographic development of the Horšovský Týn district, including the displacement of the German-speaking population and the subsequent settlement of the region by a new Czech population. Using the example of the memoirs of Walter Bernklau, who as a German was deported from Czechoslovakia after the Second World War, the work shows what fates the German-speaking population had to go through during the deportation and what awaited them in their new home. The second half of the work is mainly devoted to the development of agriculture in the region, the history of auxiliary cooperatives in the district of Horšovský Týn in the years 1945-1948 and the collectivization of the region after 1949. In the last chapter, the work on selected...

Světlý, Josef ; Pokorný, Jiří (advisor) ; Franková, Martina (referee)
Municipality and environmental protection from the legal point of view Abstract The main goal of this work is to show the importance of the role of municipalities in the processes of environmental protection. As should be clear from the work, the field of environmental protection has recently undergone quite dynamic development, both in the legislative and case law, and municipalities are forced to respond to this development. The content of the first chapter is the definition of the concept of the environment and the subjective right of natural and legal persons to a favorable environment, especially with regard to the problems that have arisen in connection with the question of whether the subjective right to a favorable environment also belongs to legal persons. Part of the first chapter is also a comparison of the Czech constitutional regulation with the legislatives of some other European democracies, which concludes the success of our constitutional regulation. The second chapter describes municipalities as subjects of state administration, their division and the main purpose of the second chapter is to distinguish between independent and delegated powers. The second chapter also points out the fact that the role of the municipality as a procedural subject is divided into three areas and these areas,...
Between High Culture and the Working Class: Typographical Communities in Leipzig, Vienna and Prague (1840-1914)
Raška, Jakub ; Štaif, Jiří (advisor) ; Fasora, Lukáš (referee) ; Pokorný, Jiří (referee)
I have chosen the typographic communities in Leipzig, Vienna and Prague as the basic material for the following doctoral thesis. I will use their examples to trace, in a transnational perspective, the broad theme of the transformation of workers' collective identities, ideas and strategies in an era of fundamental technological, economic, social, political and cultural change from the end of the pre-March period to the beginning of the First World War. My aim is to combine the tradition of methodologically informed labour history of the last sixty years or so with the narrowly conceived trade union history of a small elite field that has a long tradition among typographers. I frame the general theme of the thesis as the formation of collective identities of manual workers in modern times, which I will here view as a precondition for the collective strategies and practices of negotiation that will also be analyzed. This will involve a synchronic analysis of the changes that have affected society as a whole with the changes in typographers' own self- reflection. An important theme of the following work will also be the exploration of the tension between the consciousness of belonging to the working class and the status consciousness that was particularly strong among typographers. Personally, I see...
