Nuclear Security Studies Scholarship: A Social Network Analysis
Kučmáš, Kryštof ; Smetana, Michal (advisor) ; Plechanovová, Běla (referee)
Nuclear Security research is an established subdiscipline in security studies. According to some authors is this field of research currently split into two groups of scientists - the "political scientists" and "historians" - who employ widely different approaches to research of the subject and communicate with each other on a minimal basis. This master thesis uses tools of bibliometric citational analysis to validate the existence of this gap on the level of academic citations. The author analyses this phenomenon on the dataset based on the data from the database Scopus. Results of the research bring new insights into the citational structure of set subdiscipline, which shows that the presumed gap between two supposedly not communicating groups does not appear on the level citations.

The thesis than chronologically continues to evaluate the critical months at the end of 1898 and the beginning of 1899, which could be understood as the culmination point of the crisis. The thesis also tries to assess the mood and opinion of the public in both countries in the course of the crisis and even after signing the accords that put an end to this quarrel. At least I am trying to define and to evaluate the impact and influence of this specific event on the latter development of international relations between the two countries and also, I am trying to answer the question whether the Fashoda crisis...

Kvapil, Jakub ; Karlas, Jan (advisor) ; Plechanovová, Běla (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of environmental policy integration (EPI) in the context of global efforts to achieve sustainable development. The aim is to create an analytical framework that will make it possible to examine the level of EPI achieved within individual policy sectors, in this case agriculture. EPI is conceptualized as a rational policy-making process and special focus is put on the institutional and procedural settings of the sector. The relationship of sustainable development and EPI is also of interest, the understanding of which is crucial for grasping the researched issues. Part of the work is the proposal of an alternative analytical framework for examining the achieved level of EPI in a selected sector, which is applied in the last part to the agricultural sector of the Czech Republic. The output of the analysis is a summary of the achieved level of EPI in the agricultural sector, in terms of setting the institutional and procedural framework.
