Analysis of the Effectiveness of the Investment Project

This master’s thesis analyze and assesses the investment project of SAKO Brno and its own effectiveness. The first part includes theoretical knowledge of investment practices, procedures and possible methods of evaluation. The second part is devoted to familiarization with the company and the investment project "Waste Management Brno". In addition, financial analysis and calculations associated with the investment project. The conclusion will assess whether the project is profitable, when will it return and formulation of possible measures for other investment projects.

Representation of Gay and Bisexual Women in Video Games and Players' Attitudes: An Empirical Study

The aim of this empirical study was to examine how players' explicit and implicit attitudes towards content depicted in a video game influence their interaction with the game and their game experience. In order to do so, this study examined a particular case of a video game representing gay and bisexual women. The primary aim was to investigate how players' game engagement is influenced by the topic portrayed and by their attitudes towards gay and bisexual women. The secondary aim was to explore the players' implicit and explicit attitude change towards gay and bisexual women as a result of playing the game. This study used an experimental and a control condition, with two versions of one game differing only in the identity of one character - in the experimental version she is a lesbian and in the control version a heterosexual woman. The modification of the game was a part of the thesis. Participants' implicit and explicit pretest and posttest attitudes were measured, and their game engagement was measured in the posttest. Results showed lower game engagement in the experimental compared to the control group, however, no link between initial attitudes and game engagement was found. Construction technological project of a multi-storey parking house

The subject of this diploma thesis is the construction and technological preparation of a multi-storey parking House.The building is designed to provide storage space for cars in addition to the swimming pool and residential areas. Thesis contains engineering report, a detailed time schedule for the main building object, project of construction site, technological notes and inspection and test plans for particular steps of construction, proposal of suitable machines and mechanisms required for construction and wider relationships of transport routes to construction site. It also includes protection of health and safety at work taking into account environmental protection.

Meta-analysis: User motivations to use mobile dating apps

This diploma thesis focuses on the motivations of users to create an account within the location- based mobile dating applications. The work is processed by statistical analysis of already published studies dealing with the same or similar topics. The main target of this paper is to calculate the effect size of individual motives in relation to the sex of the respondents. The diploma thesis starts with description of the history of online dating, specific mobile applications included in my meta-analysis, user behavior in individual stages of using these applications (profile settings, selection of other profiles, communication and its development in time), followed by the methodological part where the meta-analysis itself is desribed, the process of its creation and its weak and strong aspects. In the following chapter the results of the meta-analysis and their interpretation are presented as well as self-reflection of this paper along the recommendations for future researches. Analysis helped to reveal the differences between the sexes and also helped to synthesize the acquired studies dealing with this topis. Awareness of homeless people about available social services

The presented diploma thesis focuses on the awareness of homeless people about available social services that could help improve their current life situation. The main goal of this work is to find out what social services for the homeless these people know, which of them they have used, what is their experience with them and whether these services can lead to a return to the majority society in their opinion or whether they only help the homeless to survive. This is a case study that took place in the capital city of Prague. Data were collected in the form of semi- structured in-depth interviews directly with homeless people. A total of 29 interviews took place. The diploma thesis first describes the definition of homelessness in the theoretical part, possible causes of homelessness and the social system of the Czech Republic. In the methodological part of the work, I describe the target population, the technique of selecting informants, the method of data collection, the advantages and disadvantages of semi-structured interviews, the method of data processing and analysis, and the ethics of research. The position of Colombia on the world coffee market

The thesis deals with the importance of Colombia on the world coffee market. Colombia is the third greatest producer of coffee in the world. The aim of this thesis is to characterize the position of Colombia on the international coffee market. Firstly, there is specified the coffee as a commodity for trading, coffee plant and its species, harvesting of coffee fruits and the following processing of coffee beans including the ratings of coffee beans quality. In the second chapter, there is characterized the world coffee market, the greatest producers and consumers, forms of trading with coffee, development of coffee prices and International Coffee Organization including its individual Agreements. The last chapter is concentrated solely on Colombia, history of Colombian coffee production, the biggest coffee companies, development of Colombian coffee export during the 21st century and future trends, importance of fair trade in Colombian coffee production and concernment of coffee production and export for Colombian economy.

Alcohol Consumption of Prague High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors

Angelika Nelly Petrová Abstract The bachelor's thesis called "Alcohol Consumption of Prague's High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors" is about the consumption of alcohol by high school students, secondary technical school students and secondary vocational school students and the potential reasons for this alcohol consumption. The factors of socialization, such as the impact of the family, peer groups and school, are discussed in detail. The topic is first analyzed in the theoretical section that presents the main concepts, which are later on applied in the practical section, as well as the surveys that were exploited and became an inspiration for the bachelor's thesis. The practical section defines the survey objective, the survey task and related issues, the methodology of data collection and processing and their possible alternatives. It describes the methodological tool (SAQ), its individual dimensions and changes made after the pilot study. The findings are first presented for the entire target group, than are the respondents classified by gender and type of school they attend, which shows a significant difference between men and women as to the volume of consumed alcohol. Disclosure of wrongdoing in labour relations

The submitted diploma thesis deals with the topic of disclosure of wrongdoings, which has lately gained attention due to the recent considerations of the possible complex legislative proposal in the Czech Republic. Therefore the purpose of this thesis is to analyze the current legal situation of disclosure of wrongdoings in the Czech Republic, along with analyzing all the aspects that should be taken into account when considering a legislative proposal, as well as analyzing and evaluating the legislative proposals that have already been submitted. The first part of the thesis presents the subject of whistleblowing and the different approaches to the subject, which are presented by the authors of the frequently used definitions. Then the author deals with the very essence of the issue and answers the question why it is necessary to legally regulate the area of whistleblowing. This thesis also presents various problematic questions including ethical matters inextricably linked with whistleblowing.
