Evaluation and self-evaluation of educators at a specific primary school

This bachelor thesis deals with a detailed examination of the evaluation and self-evaluation of pedagogical workers at the primary school level. The theoretical part describes the aims and importance of evaluation and self-evaluation of pedagogical staff, basic methods, forms and criteria of evaluation and self-evaluation at school. It refers to the classification of evaluation methods. It describes basic and accompanying methods, which include: motivation-evaluation interview, MBO method, 360ř feedback, rating scale, free description, checklist or observations. The empirical part describes the objectives of the research. It specifies research questions, methods of data acquisition and processing, etc. The empirical part is conceived as a case study whose aim is to describe the methods, forms and criteria of evaluation and self- evaluation of pedagogical workers at specific school in Liberec, the Czech Republic. The research is based on interviews with the headmaster of the school, questionnaires for all teachers and also interviews with selected teachers of the school. Possibilities of Using Career Guidance and Counseling in Elementary School

This diploma thesis entitled "Possible Use of Career Counseling in Secondary school" focuses primarily on the possible way of introduction of career counseling into secondary schools that are within the czech standard eduacational system. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze both the possibilities of use and ways of realization of career counseling in secondary schools, which is now provided primarily within educational counseling. Aim of the thesis was, based on given research assumptions, to analyze opinions of both students and educational counselor on the level of services provided by the career counseling in secondary school. The first part of the thesis will discuss terms related to the area of career counseling and professional orientation of students. It will also analyze occupation selection theories and career development of students, aspects of counseling process, and it will also list knowledge about adolescence period. There will also be identified those subjects and institutions providing career counseling servises that are situated in the Czech Republic. The present time brings new jobs, new job roles, different job expectations, different perspectives on traditional and current career concepts, the importance of motivation in an individual's career, and the importance of job quality. In the environment of educational organizations, the quality of work of teaching staff is considered to be one the most important aspects affecting pupil performance. The current problems faced by regional education in the international context include the low attractiveness of the teaching profession, mainly due to lower average salaries. The situation is not supported either by limited career opportunities and by the widespread belief that the profession does not offer sufficient opportunities for self-realization and adequate social recognition. Therefore, the aim is to link the quality of professional performance of the teacher with the principle of professional standards, elaborated into several levels of generality up to a level that allows to assess reliably and decide whether the teacher achieves a certain required level on the basis of established criteria. Secondary School Self-Evaluation in Terms of In-Service Training for Employees

The diploma thesis comprehensively introduces the issue of in-service training of pedagogical staff with a focus on secondary school teachers as one of the areas of school self-evaluation. In-service teacher training comes to the fore as it goes hand in hand with the quality of training. In its first part, it identifies the basic definitions needed to understand the topic of school self- evaliation and in-service teacher training, then it defines the legislative framework ensuring in- service teacher training, strategic documents and other plans. Last but not least, it defines the objectives and forms of in-service teacher training and briefly outlines the situation in Europe with a focus on international surveys. Using content analysis, the thesis evaluates three annual reports of the selected secondary school. Furthermore, standardized structured interview was held with the school management and also a standardized questionnaire is distributed among pedagogical staff of the selected secondary school.
