Residential apartment building
Pavlica, Tomáš ; Elešová, Klára (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the design of new residential building in Brno on the street Táborská in the city of Brno Židenice. The design comes out from filling the gap on the Táborská street and Letní street, urban regulatives and needs of people living in the local district. I designed the building so that the building is incorporated into both the street and the elevation line on surrounding buildings of apartment buildings. My effort went towards using the structural gap to its full potential. The facade of the building is designed lining titanium zinc strips of width 500 mm, which enhance the feeling of a compact mass. The facility is in addition to living is in 1st. LVL designed fitness center, which is in this area missing. The other level floor consist of flats for housing. Flats in the building are design as one-storey units and maisonnette apartment on the top floors. maisonnette. Arrangement and dispositions to all apartments is such as each flat is bright and sunlit adequately.
Moravian Wine Center
Pavlica, Tomáš ; Myslín,, Jiří (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the design of a wine hotel for a vineyard Nikolsburg in Mikulov. Main idea of this project is to create a new hotel building combined with the production of wine so it would naturally fit the given landscape and so it wouldn’t disturb its natural character. This building was also designed so it has extraordinary views of the whole wine area of Mikulov, the Mikulov Chateau and the Holy Hill. Primary function of the building is accommodation in a 4-star hotel rooms and a clean production of wine, which includes maturing, bottling and labeling. There are other services added, such as a restaurant, a wine bar, tasting salon with immediate a wine cellar designed for wine maturing and also last but not least a wellness center with sauna world to make your stay more pleasant. The architectural concept is mainly based on the view axis and the shape of given landscape. Hinged façade made of timber cladding is inspired by the wine production and regularity of the vineyards.
Sex chromosome evolution in selected taxa of teleost fishes (Teleostei)
Pavlica, Tomáš ; Sember, Alexandr (advisor) ; Kratochvíl, Lukáš (referee)
Teleosts represent more than half of the extant vertebrate species. They show a wide range of mechanisms driving both sex determination and sex differentiation, including nine sex chromosome systems described to date. Teleost sex chromosomes are generally considered as evolutionarily young, therefore they are suitable for an analysis of the early stages of evolution of these unique genomic regions. The aim of the current thesis was to analyze the presence and degree of differentiation of sex chromosomes in two Nothobranchius killifish species and one Bunocephalus banjo catfish representative using conventional and molecular cytogenetic methods. Different populations of N. kadleci and N. furzeri analysed in this thesis shared anXY sex chromosome system. Despite the obvious heteromorphy of their sex chromosomes, comparative genome hybridization (CGH) did not show any region of differentiation. Analysis of synaptonemal complexes by immunostaining coupled with the mapping of 18S rDNA and telomeric repeats using fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) showed mainly standard pairing with the contribution of synaptic adjustment. Pachytene spreads of females from one N. furzeri population contained a small supernumerary chromosome which was not present in metaphases of studied somatic cells. Distribution...
Media image of people with disabilities in czech TV news
Pavlica, Tomáš ; Macková, Veronika (advisor) ; Chladová, Marta (referee)
This paper aims to present the media image of people with disabilities, which is formed by the main news program of Česká televize and Televize Nova. The main theme of this work was to analyse the media frameworks and stereotypes associated with people with disability. In this work, already well-known media frameworks and stereotypes are categorised and put into context to create a complete media image of people with disabilities. The analysis was done using a qualitative method using open coding.
Sex chromosome evolution in ray-finned fishes (Actinopterygii)
Pavlica, Tomáš ; Sember, Alexandr (advisor) ; Knytl, Martin (referee)
Ray-finned fishes (Actinopterygii) possess strikingly diverse sex sex differentiation strategies (including gonochorism, unisexuality and several types of hermaphroditism) and mechanisms of sex determination (both environmental and genetic), including frequent turnovers between abovementioned strategies and mechanisms. Although exhibiting remarkable diversity of sex determination mechanisms, only about 5% of analyzed teleost species possess cytologically recognizable (i.e. heteromorphic) sex chromosomes. Still, nine different male- or female- heterogametic sex chromosome systems at various stages of differentiation have been described along with high rate of inter- and intraspecific variability. Given that early sex chromosome evolution is best studied in evolutionarily young nascent sex chromosomes, ray- finned fishes and especially the teleost lineage (Teleostei) represent vital model group for these investigations offering new insights into the evolution of these rapidly evolving regions of vertebrate genomes. Moreover, handful of studies available so far has provided evidence for a role of emerging sex chromosomes and their turnover in processes such as ecologial adaptation, speciation or genomic conflict. Besides cytogenetic studies, which had a major impact on our current knowledge about fish...
