Supervision in preschool education

The aim of the thesis is to present the concept of supervision in educational context as a tool for supporting preschool educators in their professional development, to map supervision implementation in nursery schools and examine teachers' views on supervision. The theoretical part first introduces the concept of supervision with regard to the term definition, its functions, aims, purpose, process and its participants. The following section of theory deals with the topic of supervision in educational environment, specific demands placed on teaching profession and presents supervision as an effective tool for teachers' professional growth and their mental health support. The empirical part presents qualitative research focused on teachers' experiences with supervision in three nursery schools and based on grounded theory principles. The results show that supervision implementation in nursery schools primarily depends on their financial and organisational capabilities which determine their ability to utilize supervision's potential. Research also shows that preschool educators perceive supervision as help, providing them with new perspectives, and as a means of sharing in a safe environment. Attachment and Its Influence on Adolescents' risk behaviour

This thesis aims to explore a topic of attachment and its influence on adolescents' risk behaviour. First, the theoretical part provides an overview of important milestones of the developmental period of middle adolescence. Afterwards, it introduces the concept of attachment and finally, it deals with risk behaviour with great emphasis on researches addressing the substance abuse, antisocial behaviour and sexual risk behaviour in the Czech Republic. The practical part focuses on correlation between attachment styles (secure, preoccupied, dismissive avoidant and fearful avoidant) and risk behaviour using a questionnaire survey. In addition, it deals with the prevalence of above-mentioned types of risk behaviour and their relationship. Survey dealing with the prevalence of risk behaviour showed that respondents of this research were more likely to engage in risk behaviour in comparison to participants of other studies. It was also confirmed that there was a close association between different types of risk behaviour, so it could be beneficial to perceive them as a unitary syndrome. The rigorous work of the profession of teaching assistant at primary school in its own perspective, is based on the diploma thesis, where the profession of teaching assistant was of interest. She discussed pedagogical assistants in terms of motivation, which led the actors to perform the profession, in terms of demands on this profession, cooperation with teachers, students and their parents. The work also examined the position / role of teaching assistants in the school and looks at the self-perception of the actors themselves. Rigorous work is largely built on this basis. The work aims to map the nature of these relationships and factors that may affect this relationship in specific children with AS and their parents. The evaluation of therapeutic work with children's group

The thesis discusses the evaluation of therapeutic work with a children's group. It shows the evaluation of the programme children's group psychotherapy from the perspective of parents, children and therapists. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of group psychotherapy and on children in young school age. The main part is about the psychotherapy for children and the discussion groups for their parents. The last part focuses on the role of therapist. The qualitative research is presented in the empirical part. Semi-structured interviews with seven parents, four therapists and questionnaire for seven children were conducted. These methods were analysed based on the creation of thematic categories. The evaluation of the data is also inspired by the method of grounded theory. The results show that parents, children and therapis predominantly agree in the evaluation of the children's therapeutic group program. Significant for groups seems to be establishing close relationships with other members. An important factor in the process has been the way parents and children communicate about the group. The effect of social organization of games on the orientation in their moral dimension

1 ABSTRACT The author is following up on Bachelor's thesis called School aged children and their moral judgment in the case of social games. Main topic of this thesis was to explore key drivers of moral orientation with focus on influence of type of game organization followed by influence of the adult authority and complexity of rules. The objective of this thesis was to extend Piaget's theory with new learnings from this area. Stories with unjust situation leading to apply justice of equity were composed to evaluate moral orientation. Main method used was clinical interview as part of which we led the discussion with children. Various types of game organizations were games organized as competition, games organized as cooperation, passing bully role, and cooperation. All these games had a common dexterity type of object throw with body contact. Experiment sample consisted of 180 primary school children with comparable representation of boys and girls, aging from 6 to 15 years (20 children from each class). For children in our sample the analysis outcomes have shown that adult authority doesn't present an obstacle to think independently. The diploma thesis aims at the issue of supervision in children's homes. The goal is to map the provision of supervision services to pedagogic staff of children's homes. A theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of supervision, its form, use and function. In the following chapters, more specifically, it focuses on supervision in institutional care. The empirical part of the diploma thesis will address how pedagogical staff of the children's homes perceives provided supervising meeting and whether there are some benefits for their career life and the supervision is effective. The practical part will also explore the experience of supervisors with the children's home environment and their staff. The research part will be realized in the form of semi-structured interviews with children's home educators, their directors and supervisors who work in the children's home environment. Coping strategies of leaders in a child (Scout-like) organization

The bachelor thesis deals with the problems of coping with difficult situations with the leaders of children's clubs. The aim of the thesis is to map and describe the activities of the leader in a particular children's club, the sources of difficulty in it and coping strategies that the leaders use. First, the theoretical part of the thesis deals with clarification the terms related to coping with difficult situations (stress theory, work load, resistance, adaptation, coping, personality characteristics, coping strategies). The next part of the thesis deals with the clarification of terms related to the clubs activity and the work of the leader (what is a club activity, its development in the Czech Republic, a club collective, internal organization, educational system, leader's work, legislation). The empirical part of the thesis deals with qualitative research, whose main aim was to find out what coping strategies are used by the head of a particular children's club. It also describes the mapped work of the leader and the sources of difficulty in it. A semi-structured interview and a SVF 78 questionnaire were used for data collection. School and Counseling Trajectory of Child with Asperger's Syndrome

The aim of this thesis is to look into the schooling and counselling trajectory of children with Asperger's syndrome. It is viewed from the childrens' perspective, and includes their parents' testimonies. Subsequently the thesis comments upon convergences and differences that appear in their respective statements. Data is collected using semi- structured interviews and is a qualitative research. Based on the analysis of the results, the findings are presented in the following areas: "what was before" (ie what preceded the diagnosis); school attendance; communicating with classmates and teachers; relationships at school; experience with consultation facilities and professional assistance; interests and similarities or differences of the views of the child and the parent. The most frequent topic mentioned among the results was the lack of expertise on Asperger's syndrome, which led to frequent misunderstandings or conflicts with a teaching staff. The results revealed also other themes such as: the need to tolerate individual conditions of the child during a class; deficits in communication and social interactions; positive perception of professional assistance and of cooperation of experts with the school.
