Syllable Segmentation of French as Perceived by Czech Speakers

Title of the thesis: Syllable Segmentation of French as Perceived by Czech Speakers Keywords: Phonetics, Phonology, Syllable, Syllable Segmentation, French, Czech Abstract: The study entitled Syllable Segmentation of French as Perceived by Czech Speakers, is concerned with the difference of syllable segmentation in French and in Czech. The aim of the thesis is to find out to what degree the Czech speaker's ability to segment syllables in French is influenced by his mother tongue. To answer this question various methodologic procedures are employed: observation, then comparison of Czech and French theory books which allow forming the hypothesis. Subsequently, the hypothesis is verified in a quality based research which examines the pronunciation of Czech speakers reading a text. Their syllable segmentation is analyzed and evaluated. The thesis is divided into seven parts: Introduction, 1. Description of the basic rules of the Czech syllable, 2. Description of the basic rules of the French syllable, 3. Hypothesis, 4. Presentation and description of the analyzed material, 5. Analysis of the syllable segmentation, Conclusion. Liability for defects in a Sold Thing as one of the Protection Instruments of the Weaker Party

The thesis deals with the topic of the liability for defects in a sold thing with an emphasis on the relevant provisions of private law, particularly the Civil Code, and with regard to legislation concerning consumer protection. The thesis does also not forget to highlight the changes that have occurred recently with respect to the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union, and even the planned impacts on liability for defects in a sold thing in the upcoming re-codification of private law are examined. The thesis is divided into four chapters. Introductory chapters focus on defining of the concept of civil liability and its classification. The key aspect of this thesis becomes the third chapter, which deals with the institute of liability for defects in a sold thing, taking into account current legislation. Part of this thesis is the comparison of current Czech legislation with relevant German provisions. A summary of problematic aspects of the liability for defects and suggestions of their possible solution are presented at the end of the thesis.

Jana Nováková Department: Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics (IPNP) Supervisor: RNDr. Tomáš Davídek, PhD., IPNP Supervisor's e-mail address: davidek@ipnp.troja.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: The Monte Carlo simulations of the Tile calorimeter in the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, especially the electronic noise and multiple interactions (co-called pile-up), are discussed in the thesis. A good agreement in the cell energy distribution between data and Monte Carlo simulations is found. The cross section measurement of Z → ττ events with the ττ invariant mass between 66 and 116 GeV with the ATLAS experiment is described in the next part of the thesis. Data samples collected during 2011 corresponding to the integrated luminosity of 1.34 - 1.55 fb−1 are used for the analysis. The measurements are performed in three different final states depending on the decay mode of the τ leptons. The measurement in the channel with one τ lepton decaying leptonically into the electron + neutrinos (schematically τ → e + νe + ντ ) and the other one hadronically (schematically τ → hadrons + ντ ), especially the calculation of the nominal cross section and the evaluation of the systematic...

Nursing Care of Patients after Hemithyreoidectomy

The aim of this paper is case study in a patient aged 48 years who has been admitted for planned surgery for thyroid j goiter. Mr. Z.B. was hospitalized in a department of surgery, a Prague hospital. Hospitalization lasted 5 days. The clinical part deals with the history of therapy, anatomy and physiology of the thyroid gland. Furthermore, thyroid diseases and their clinical symptoms, diagnostic tests, treatment options and postoperative complications. Another section contains basic information about the patient, medical history and course of disease, including test results, during operation and prognosis. The nursing section briefly describes the nursing process and its use in practice. In my work I have to evaluate the patient and determine the needs of selected model-functioning health Marjory Gordon. To establish the diagnosis and the realization of short-term care plan, I chose the third day of hospitalization, namely the first postoperative day. The conclusion deals with the psychological evaluation of the patient and the process of education.
