Comparation of The Dutch and American pension system (2015)

This bachelor thesis is focused on the problematic of systems of old age security pension in the Netherland and the United States of America. The theoretical part attemps to introduce the breakdown of pension systems according to the financing method, the operator, or the construction of pension benefits. The practical part deals with the brief presentation of history of pension systems, the demographic situation in the monitored countries and the analysis of the state of pension systems according to individual pillars. The aim of the thesis is to analyse and to compare the state of pension systems in selected countries and to propose changes for the pension system of the Czech Republic. This bachelor thesis concludes that the Netherlands pension system is more advantageous and better set than the system in the USA. Therefore, the outcome of the thesis is that the Dutch pension system is a convenient inspiration for the Czech pension system.

He who doesn't work, neither shall he eat, shan't he? The image of work in the debate about a basic income.

This work will focus on the relationship between basic income and work. We will pursue how the work is reflected in debates on basic income, and seek other arguments for universal basic income through a new rethinking of work. To be able to thematize the new rethinking of work, however, the politicization of work is required. In our work, we will focus on the history of basic income, its normative justification and essential characteristics. We will address basic income and the financial crisis. We will also show how the work has been thematized in the society since its "modern" discovery in the 18th century. With Dominique Méda, we will describe three images of work: the Smithian concept of work, the images of work associated with the thinking of Karl Marx, and the image of work connected with the origin of the welfare state. All these images of work are reflected by basic income. Eventually, we will demonstrate for basic income being able to be an instrument of the politicization of work, it has to abandon the Smithian concept of work.

Localisation of Mobile Robot in the Environment

This paper addresses the problem of mobile robot localization based on current 2D and 3D data and previous records. Focusing on practical loop detection in the trajectory of a robot. The objective of this work was to evaluate current methods of image processing and depth data for issues of localization in environment. This work uses Bag of Words for 2D data and environment of point cloud with Viewpoint Feature Histogram for 3D data. Designed system was implemented and evaluated.

Analýza vybraných parametrů spalovacích motorů

The thesis introduces and briefly describes the technologies which are applied in modern diesel engines used in agricultural industry. They are facilities with which it is possible to achieve the maximum productivity, with minimal impact on the environment, which is now required by users. It also describes future trends in engine design and offers a list of innovations, which are currently under the development and have got the potential to improve parameters of diesel engines in the future. There are also described characteristics of combustion engines, according to which are the selected parameters assessed. Last but not least, the work deals with the analysis of selected parameters of the internal combustion engine depending on their structural design. This analysis was based on data obtained from the Institute of DLG and independent testing laboratory of motor vehicles at the University of Nebraska.

Object Detection Using Kinect

This paper address the problem of object recognition using Microsoft Kinect in the fi eld of computer vision. The objective of this work was to evaluate current methods of detection of objects using depth map (RGB-D sensor). The work deals with the enviroment of point cloud and Viewpoint Feature method. It also describes the use of binary classifi er in the context of object recognition. Object detection was implemented and performed experiments with it.
