In this time governed in Germany the so called red-green coalition, consisting of the political parties SPD and Bündnis`90/Die Grünen. The main aim of the thesis is to investigate problem of unemployment in the Federal Republic of Germany in the mentioned years 1998 till 2005, and to explore possible causes, development and consequences of unemployment. Furthermore, it is to examine political measures which were introduced to reduce unemployment and to assess their effectiveness.

Constitutional Judiciary in Spain

Summary: Constitutional judiciary in Spain The subject of this thesis is constitutional judiciary in Spain. According to the Spanish Constitution of 1978 Spain belongs in the group of states which have established a system of concentrated and specialized constitutional judiciary. In the Czech legal literature is the Spanish constitutional judiciary mentioned mainly as a system based on the German constitutional judiciary, writings dedicated exclusively to the Spanish system are not very common. In spite of the fact that the legislative regulation of the Spanish Constitutional Court was really importantly inspired by the regulation of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany (especially in the area of competencies of the Constitutional Court), there are also some significant particularities and typical features of the Spanish Constitutional Court which can be an interesting subject of an analysis. The aim of the thesis is to provide a characterization of the Spanish constitutional judiciary. Because of the limited length of the thesis this study does not contain a detailed analysis of all aspects of the Spanish constitutional judiciary. The Nuclear Power Phase-out of Germany in 2011

This bachelor thesis deals with the nuclear phase-out of Germany in 2011. The main objective of this thesis is to clarify what is the rationale behind this phase-out and whether it was a purely political concession or if there were some other reasons why to do so. It also contemplates possible aftermaths for Germany, caused by this phase-out. Another part deals with possible consequences for Czech Republic, especially for its energy sector. In the first part the attention is devoted to a historical usage of nuclear power in Germany, then the thesis deals with the period around Fukushima's disaster and its impact on German society and politics. The following part attends to clarify the perspectives of German energy phase-out- wise and special attention is given to possibilities of the future development. In the last part the most important outcomes for Czech Republic are being discussed.

Germany and the Eastern Enlargement of the Schengen Area

This bachelor thesis deals with the preconditions, the process and the consequences of the so-called Eastern enlargement of the Schengen Area in 2007, with special regard to the Federal Republic of Germany, its role in the process as well as the advantages and disadvantages connected with it. After a short introductory summary of functioning principles and history of the Schengen Area from 1985 to 2011 there is a chapter dedicated to the process of the enlargement by nine new countries. Nevertheless the main attention is paid to Poland and the Czech Republic, two Eastern neighbours of Germany. The third chapter analyzes in detail the consequences of the enlargement, especially its influence on the development of criminality and illegal immigration in Germany or the police co-operation among the countries concerned. Apart from the all- German dimension the thesis focuses on the specific situation in individual federal states on the eastern border - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, Saxony and Bavaria. The last chapter deals with the media reflection of this topic in the Czech press, specifically in the most widely read non-tabloid journal Mladá fronta DNES. During the last 10 years, the German-Chinese Rule of Law Dialogue (Deutsch-Chinesischer Rechtsstaatsdialog) has developed into one of the most significant axes of Sino-German relations. Although the attention is paid to its yearly official symposia, its core is has been formed by various state actors, academic institutions and NGOs that have administrated its long-term projects (such as consulting service in various fields of rule of law, but also research in international law, translation of both sides' legislation, joint curricula etc.). Naturally, these partial projects differ significantly in its thematic scope, profile of attendees and also in its formats. Germany's current position on the issue of immigrant integration (in the context of legislative measures in the Immigration Act - "Zuwanderungsgesetz")

The aim of this study is to analyze the German approach to the issue of immigrants' integration. I look at this problem from the point of view of a new legislative framework. This work should show how immigration laws influenced local integration policy. The law had great ambitions to improve the situation regarding the integration of immigrants. I am trying to discover its qualities but also to identify its drawbacks. First, there is outlined a problematic situation that led to the adoption of this law. There is described the situation and circumstances under which the law originated. Since the very first measure dealing with issues of integration, I show how specific solutions of supporting the integration of immigrants the law offers. I analyzed the form of a pro-active integration policy, which was established by this Act. The greatest attention was paid to linguistic integration. The Act established partially compulsory integration courses to promote the integration. Finally, I try to show the problems that Germany must deal with concerning the application of the statutory provisions. Fiscal Equalization in Germany.

The thesis "Financial Equalization of German Federal States - a Key German Domestic Political Issue of the Turn of the Millennium" describes one of the most important elements of the German financial system, which has been in place since 1950s. It has its constitutional justification in the principle that citizens cannot be treated differently by the government simply because they live in different parts of the federation (article 107 of the German Constitution). The fiscal equalization exists in the form of redistribution of tax revenue (individual and corporate income tax and turnover tax) primarily according to the size of the population in each German state (Bundesland). It takes place vertically between the federation and individual states and simultaneously horizontally among states themselves. The "Länderfinanzausgleich", interstate horizontal fiscal equalization among the Länder, is certainly the main factor of interregional solidarity in Germany. Without central government's intervention, it organizes the horizontal redistribution of fiscal revenues among the Länder, including the five new Länder since 1995. Solution of the financial crisis in the Federal Republic of Germany in 2008-2009

The master thesis The solution of the financial crisis in the Federal Republic of Germany 2008-2009 is based on the statement, that the state intervention during the solution of the financial crisis in the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) was in accord with the model of social market economy. The confirmation or disproval of this statement shall be reached by answering the following questions: What are the basic principles of the social market economy in FRG? How does the bank system of FRG work? What was the timeline of the financial crisis in FRG? What measures had to be taken to master the crisis? What was the role of the state in these measures? Within the framework of these questions this master thesis deals with the economic system and economic policy of FRG and the role of the state and other actors in the forming of economic policy. The bank system is outlined and the financial crisis as an example of general rules applied to particular regulative measures are discussed. In the topic of the financial crisis the focus is put on the beginning and the causes of the global financial crisis, the impact of the financial crisis on FRG and the central point are the particular measures which were taken to solve the financial crisis in FRG. Structural Policy of the town Duisburg in the years from 1994 untill 2004

6. Resümee Der Autor dieser Diplomarbeit hat sich die Aufgabe gestellt die Strukturpolitik der Stadt Duisburg in den Jahren 1994 bis 2004 darzustellen und zu analysieren. Es galt festzustellen, ob Duisburg auch weiterhin als graue, von der Industrie gezeichnete Stadt zu verstehen ist, oder auch Entwicklungen zu beobachten sind, welche zu einem Wandel der Industriestruktur, aber auch des Bildes der ganzen Stadt geführt haben. Die Ausgangslage ist als nicht leicht, ja sogar prekär einzuschätzen. Seit 1992 hat die Stadt Duisburg, wie die meisten kreisfreien Städte Nordrhein-Westfalens, keinen ausgeglichenen Haushalt mehr gehabt. Trotz enormer Konsolidierungsanstrengungen war der Anstieg der strukturellen Unterfinanzierung nicht aufzuhalten. Laut Art. 28 Abs. 2 GG steht den Gemeinden das Recht zu, "...alle Angelegenheiten der örtlichen Gemeinschaft im Rahmen der Gesetze in eigener Verantwortung zu regeln." Auf der anderen Seite aber befinden sich die Gemeinden in das mehrstufige Hoheitsgefüge des Staates eingebettet und beziehen als unterste Ebene von ihm abgeleitet ihre Hoheitsrechte. Sie sind in ihrem Handeln an die Gesetze und an ihre Treuepflicht gegenüber Bund und Land gebunden.
