Cement Factory in Radotín - foundation, production, undertaking strategies 1871- 1921

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the history of cement factory in Radotín since its foundation in 1871 till the year 1921, when the factory became the part of big Prague company. Thesis was written by using the business history methodology and the cement factory was observed as an enterprise subject, however the social aspects of this issue aren't considered. The core part of thesis emphasizes on the foundation of the cement factory, its production capabilities and its managerial leadership. Olomouc cottage cheese - production, enterprise, consumption

The thesis deals with phenomenon of "Olomoucké tvarůžky" (Olomouc cottage cheese), an original Czech cheese in period from an end of 19th century to 1938. It puts closer look at the changes in ways of production, observes production of "Olomoucké tvarůžky" as a subject of enterprise and as an individual branch of dairy industry. It also outlines place of "Olomoucké tvarůžky" in consumption habits.
Transfer of the Czech population from SS training area Benešov and its social impacts (1942-1945)

The theme of the work is the transfer of population caused by the establishment of the Waffen SS training area between Benešov and Sedlčany (SS-Truppenübungsplatz "Böhmen"). The central part of the text is a comprehensive conception of the transfer, the emphasis is put on the perception of events from different perspectives. Documents of Protectorate authorities are confronted with local elites memoirs, chronicles and memories of inhabitants. There are captured the process of displacement, work of the Resettlement office, finding a new existence, the expropriation of property, departure of the inhabitants and their subsequent fates. Text is complemented with historical photos, documents relating to the displacement, a map of the occupied territory and graphs approaching professional composition of the population, provision of a new existence and dispersion into the Protectorate districts. Changes of a paradigm of society during the war and after the war and the impact of these changes on post-war historiographical construction are outlined marginally.

This thesis is a case study of the clothing company Nehera, clothing service in Prostějov in years 1945 - 1948. It analyzes the changes the company went through after the war. It especially covers the underlying mechanism of the nationalization process which it also explains. Attention is paid to the conversion from a private company to the national company. It also studies the principles which the newly formed national company operated on. Thereby it covers the results the nationalization brought.

National and Political Cleansing in Mohelnice 1945-1948. Expulsion - Tranfer - Retribution Jaromír Mrňka, Institute of Economic and Social History FF UK, 2011. Bachelor thesis 'National and Political Cleansing in Mohelnice 1945-1948. Expulsion - Transfer - Retribution' copes with theme WWII aftermath cleansing processes in town of Mohelnice in northern Moravia during the period of the so called Third Czechoslovakian Republic. In the context of long- term development of Czech-German relations in the region and other context of revolutionary changes in a structure of post-war society, thesis examines involvement of particular historical players during the period of the so called expulsion of Germans and wild retribution from May till July 1945, in the execution of the so called Great decree from July 1945 and in the organized phase of the transfer of German population in the region during the year 1946. Thesis studies motivations and changes of social status of defendants of the Great decree in the connection with their engagement in structures of the NSDAP.

The first chapter analyses cultural politics of Czechoslovak Communist Party in the field of classical music and a general role of culture in Czechoslovakia at the end of 1940's and the beginning of 1950's. Other parts are dedicated to the impact of social and political circumstancies on Czech Philharmonic and to the activities and inner functioning of the orchestra during Karel Ančerl's period as a chief conductor.
Czechoslovak-Iranian relations 1918-1938. Politics, economy, culture, expatriates and communities

The work deals with Czechoslovak-Iranian relations in the interwar period and reflects their political, cultural and in particular economic dimension. The entrepreneurial activities of Czechoslovak enterprises that managed to break into Iranian market represent the main theme of the work. The economic relations based primarily on foreign trade are examined within the context of political negotiations and the issue of expatriates. The case study explains the process of market penetration of Czechoslovak export companies into Iran and analyzes the activities of Société Iranienne Skoda within the context of factory (i.e. plant and equipment) orders and infrastructure development. The work focuses on penetration of Czechoslovak armament factories (Škodovy závody, ČKD and Zbrojovka Brno) into Iranian market. Czechoslovak export of munition became especially in the 1930s the main pillar of relations between Czechoslovakia and Iran. The export of armament into Iran comprised more than half of total Czechoslovak export into Iran.
Supplying and Grocery Stores in Prague between the Two World Wars

The roots of Prague modernization process and traditional custom changes of Prague citizens can be found at the turn of the 20th century. The city founded new supplying institutions, the level of supervision of food quality and hygienic conditions of sale increased and new forms of selling pushed through. This process was interrupted by World War I. After the war ended and the new republic was formed, the City of Prague tried to return to pre-war traditional and reliable means of supplying and trade. However, only the foundation and development of Greater Prague encouraged the continuation and acceleration of the process of modernization and rationalization of city and grocery store supplying. At the same time as efforts to respond to the obsolescence and inflexibility of the existing store network the development of new forms of commerce emerged rapidly. Modern advertising was experiencing a massive boom and was using a number of new technologies in advertising campaigns. These changes affected the daily lives of the people of Prague. In the period between the two world wars customs and stereotypes began to change slowly, and also the consumption patterns of the people of Prague, which reflected in the changing of shopping habits within the Prague store network. "Grenzlandschicksal": Ideological construction of german borderland novel from Bohemia - instance Wilhelm Pleyer

The basic theme of this thesis is radically nationalist German fiction. The thesis focuses on analyzing the "Grenzland" novels by Wilhelm Pleyer. The aim is to determine Pleyer's attempt construct a historical collective memory of Czech Germans, revealing mental and literary stereotypes, establishing an image of each nation. In addition, the methods Pleyer uses to show and evaluate the events of the period, by comparing the interpretations of historical and contemporary events, are also revealed and described. Attention is also given to the identification of philosophical and ideological resources on which Pleyer draws. This thesis also deals with the revision of Wilhelm Pleyer's biography and reconstruction of the evolution of his connection to the ideology of National Socialism. This goal is based on a comparison of information provided by the existing literature with that obtained from archival materials. In the context of development of Czech- German and Czech-Polish relations in the region and other context of revolutionary changes in a structure of society during the industrialization in the second half of the 19th century. Bachelor thesis follows the situation from the point of view of one of players - Czech national writer František Sokol-Tůma. It concentrates on his identity, motivations, methods of his work and effect to contemporary society.
