Anton Popovič and his contribution to the development of translation studies

This theoretic-historiographical thesis deals with the personality of the Slovak scholar Anton Popovič (1933-1984) and his contribution to translation studies between the late 1960s the early 1980s. The thesis examines the theoretical and methodological underpinnings of Popovič's theoretical work (especially Jiří Levý and František Miko), analyzes his most important publications within the field of translation studies, and discusses criticisms as well as inspirations of his conception of translation. The thesis concludes with an evaluation of Popovič's role in developing Czechoslovak and international translation studies, most importantly of the so-called descriptive translation studies, or the manipulation school. The contribution of this thesis may be regarded primarily as a first attempt at a comprehensive study of the personality and thinking of Anton Popovič.

Variations of Spanish in the translation of non-literary texts (on the material of the Spanish-Czech legal texts)

Téma, zaměření a cíle rigorózní práce Tato rigorózní práce se bude zabývat vlivem variant španělštiny na normy neliterárního (právního) překladu, a to zejména na normu soudních (ověřených) překladů. Soustředí se na často překládané dokumenty, jako jsou rodné listy, oddací listy, potvrzení matrik o způsobilosti k sňatku, španělské lib ros de familia apod. 1.2. Přínos rigorózní práce Autorka se pokusí o bližší stanovení normy pro specifický typ textů v posledním desetiletí s přihlédnutím ke geografickým variantám španělského jazyka.1.3. Materiál a metody výzkumu Jde o teoreticko-empirickou synchronní deskriptivní práci. Její metodický rámec bude vycházet z pojetí deskriptivní translatologie G. Touryho. Empirický materiál bude zvolen tak, aby zahrnoval totožné I obdobné materiály jak ze Španělska, tak z hispanofonních zemí Latinské Ameriky. Seznam excerpovaných materiálů je uveden v Příloze č. 1. V první části rigorózní práce budou tyto dokumenty popsány a charakterizovány, důraz bude kladen na varianty španělštiny v dokumentech pocházejících jednak ze Španělska, jednak z jednotlivých španělsky mluvících zemí Latinské Ameriky. Addressing and standard in translation

Práce se z translatologického hlediska zaměřuje na oslovení, a to na oslovení zájmenné (tykání/vykání) i jmenné (např. vlastní jména, tituly atd.). Klade si za cíl zjistit, zda se překlad mexické telenovely do češtiny v tomto směru řídí normami platnými pro audiovizuální díla ve výchozí kultuře, nebo v cílové kultuře a zda se tedy přiklání k adekvátnosti nebo naopak k přijatelnosti. Teoretická část práce je věnována zájmennému a jmennému oslovení v češtině a v evropské a mexické variantě španělštiny a vymezení vlivu kulturních norem na překlad. Nejprve je oslovení obecně definováno a poté je na základě odborných pramenů zpracován systém oslovení v daných jazycích. Poté je představen model překladu Gideona Touryho, z něhož rámec práce vychází. Empirická část práce se skládá z kontrastivní a translatologické analýzy. Kontrastivní analýza zkoumá oslovení užívané v českých, španělských a mexických filmových scénářích a klade si za cíl systematičtěji zpracovat aktuální tendence charakteristické pro tyto texty v uvedených jazycích. U zájmenného oslovení je výzkum zaměřen na poměr tykání a vykání v různých sociálních kontextech. Professional liability of the external and internal auditors

The diploma thesis focuses on professions of external and internal auditors. The aim of the thesis is to describe the professional liability of studied professional occupations. This issue is solved from the perspective of the Czech Republic. In the first part the thesis characterizes auditing activities and the Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic. It describes requirements of the profession of external auditor and focuses on his workflows. It also characterizes the internal audit and the Czech Institute of Internal Auditors. The thesis describes requirements of the profession of internal auditor and focuses on his workflows. The main part of the thesis defines the professional liability of the external and internal auditors and separately describes the criminal liability of auditors. The last part of the thesis contains a comparison of the discovered information and it also describes selected practical examples of violation of the professional liability of auditors.

Prevention of immobilization syndrome in elderly hospitalized at the Department of aftercare in the context of the multidisciplinary approach.

This bachelor thesis focuses on an actual topic in the care of the elderly. It is prevention of immobilization syndrome of the elderly in context of a multidisciplinary approach. The thesis is focused on the elderly hospitalized at an after-care unit. In the introduction to the theoretical part the current state of a quality of an elderly life is assessed. Subsequently particular terms related to old age and senescence are defined. An inseparable part of the assessment of the quality of the elderly life is the classification of self-sufficiency and efficiency. Here the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health is mentioned as a meaningful tool for the availability of social services, but also as a clinical tool. The definition of immobilization syndrome emphasizes that this is a geriatric syndrome, which is closely connected to hypomobility, decondition, instability, falls, sarcopenia and other geriatric symptoms and syndromes. The main topic of the thesis - the multidisciplinary approach - is summarized in seventh subchapter and its sections. Individual team members and their basic activities while working with the client are defined here. The research part of the thesis is divided into several chapters. It is processed in a form of qualitative research. It follows the theoretical observations and assesses the work of particular members of the multidisciplinary team in practice. The analysis of personal documents was used on purpose, medical records of selected clients were used as source. Case reports were created afterwards. Case reports are processed using the medical records of clients from the after-care unit. They are also supplemented by the client's point of view, using questions within a semi-structured interview. In the course of case studies, commentary from involved observation is inserted. The conclusion consists of evaluation tables. Detailed expression , comparison of the results and overall summary are in chapter "Discussion". The research question should be answered whether the attitude to clients of the after-care unit is multidisciplinary and whether it corresponds with the needs of clients. The most important finding of this bachelor thesis is that a major factor is the client's diagnosis, and the individual team member's approach to the client. In "Discussion" chapter a comparison based on specialized literature is provided, discussing the long-term care in the international context. Research may be used as feedback to organizations providing long-term care to ensure better conditions of quality of elderly life. It can also be used as a basis for the realization of specific preventive measures. It would definitely be useful to chart the basic research situation in other healthcare facilities or private facilities providing health and social services.

Using Data from Financial Statements in Company Management and Financial Authority

This thesis deals with analysis and evaluation financial statements from the view of company manager and tax authority. The thesis will be applied to particuliar financial statements of a selected company. The main aim of the thesis is to demonstrate insight and utilisation of these financial statements in the work of the manager and tax authority. Theoretic part of the thesis consists of legal regulation of particuliar finacnial statements, methodology on its analysis and information that may be gained from financial statements. In the practical part of the thesis analysis and evaluation have been elaborated on particuliar financial statements. This analysis and evaluation clearly show utilisation of information during the work of manager and tax authority.

Professional liability of auditors, tax advisors and accountants

The thesis focuses on professions of auditors, tax advisors and accountants. The aim of the thesis is to describe the professional liability of studied professional occupations. This issue is solved from the perspective of the Czech Republic. The thesis characterizes audit including its basic types, describes requirements of the auditing activity and working practices of the auditor. It also defines tax consulting and tax system of the Czech Republic, defines job description of tax advisor and reveals the upcoming changes in the Czech tax legislation. The following part focuses on the profession of an accountant, informs about the legislative regulations of Czech accounting, focuses on certification of the accounting profession and also describes mistakes, which can occur in accounting practices. The last part of the thesis contains a comparison of the discovered information and defines differences and similarities.

Record keeping of the municipal property

The thesis deals with the issues of record keeping of the municipal property with regard to their development. The main goal is an identification of obtaining information resources for property passportization from time and financial point of view. The property passportization is defined as multifunctional record keeping and the thesis contains a proposal based on experience (for real estate -- on the basis of real situation in municipalities). The draft of the evidential card is created in Microsoft Excel.
