This thesis is focused on cluster analysis in the field of text mining and its application to real data. The aim of the thesis is to find suitable categories (clusters) in the transcribed calls recorded in the contact center of Česká pojišťovna a.s. by transferring these textual documents into the vector space using basic text mining methods and the implemented clustering algorithms. From the formal point of view, the thesis contains a description of preprocessing and representation of textual data, a description of several common clustering methods, cluster validation, and the application itself.
The suggestion of the model of integration of lean manufacturing tools with environmental management system
Marcolová Klímková, Markéta ; Hřebíček, Jiří (referee) ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Němeček, Petr (referee) ; Kocmanová, Alena (advisor)
The dissertation thesis is focused on increase of the efficiency of production processes in Czech companies, whose main work focus is electric motor production with usage of the lean manufacturing tools with the environmental management system. The main reason for choosing this topic were results of prime study of the target group of companies which has proved that companies do have trouble not just with integration but especially with implementation of the lean manufacturing methods. This is the reason why concrete conditions and basic principles need to be defined to show how to proceed. The objective of this dissertation thesis is to suggest the model of integration of lean manufacturing tools with optional environmental management tool and as the lean manufacturing tools were chosen methods of lean management in production and as an optional environmental tool was chosen system of environmental management based on norm ISO 14 001. For this area of interest the primary and secondary research was used. Based on knowledge from detailed research of Czech and foreign literary sources a survey and guided interview was started with companies, which are focused on electric motor production. The thesis contains a detailed evaluation of empirical research with testing of stated hypothesis, based on which the verbal model of the integration of the lean manufacturing tools with the environmental management system is assembled. The implantation based on the suggested verbal model of the integration in the company should lead not just to the relationship improvement between the company and the environment but also to better understanding of the relationship of two independent kinds of company management leading to saving money, working environment improvement, productivity increase or ecological onus decrease. The benefits can be seen in theoretical, practical and also pedagogical level.
Statistical Analysis of Risk Factors of a Company
Semchiv, Evgheni ; Šebestová, Monika (referee) ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master`s thesis deals with the use of statistical and economic methods of analysis for evaluation of the financial situation of Heineken Czech Republic a.s. Company's economic indicators are subjected to regression analysis, interval regression analysis, and time series analysis. The proposal part contains a detailed evaluation of the results of the analyzes, evaluation of the financial risk factors and recommendations for improving the financial situation of the company.
Extreme Value Distributions with Applications
Fusek, Michal ; Skalská,, Hana (referee) ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Michálek, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis is focused on extreme value distributions and their applications. Firstly, basics of the extreme value theory for one-dimensional observations are summarized. Using the limit theorem for distribution of maximum, three extreme value distributions (Gumbel, Fréchet, Weibull) are introduced and their domains of attraction are described. Two models for parametric functions estimation based on the generalized extreme value distribution (block maxima model) and the generalized Pareto distribution (threshold model) are introduced. Parameters estimates of these distributions are derived using the method of maximum likelihood and the probability weighted moment method. Described methods are used for analysis of the rainfall data in the Brno Region. Further attention is paid to Gumbel class of distributions, which is frequently used in practice. Methods for statistical inference of multiply left-censored samples from exponential and Weibull distribution considering the type I censoring are developed and subsequently used in the analysis of synthetic musk compounds concentrations. The last part of the thesis deals with the extreme value theory for two-dimensional observations. Demonstrational software for the extreme value distributions was developed as a part of this thesis.
Statistical Analysis of Extreme Value Distributions for Censored Data
Chabičovský, Martin ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Michálek, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with extreme value distributions and censored samples. Theoretical part describes a maximum likelihood method, types of censored samples and introduce a extreme value distributions. In the thesis are derived likelihood equations for censored samples from exponential, Weibull, lognormal, Gumbel and generalized extreme value distribution. For these distributions are also derived asymptotic interval estimates and is made simulation studies on the dependence of the parameter estimate on the percentage of censoring.
Statistical Data Analysis in Excel
Hudec, Radek ; Lacinová, Veronika (referee) ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with statistics in Excel. The aim of this thesis is to develop methodology to deal with the statistical functions in Excel software – to describe capabilities and limitations of the module and function.
Statistical evaluation of large-scale data of waste colection problem
Šmídová, Zlata ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with statistical evaluation of large-scale data of waste collection problem and with evaluation these data for the purpose of subsequent traffic optimization. Statistical tests were performed in Microsoft Excel and STATISTICA. After compiling the mathematical model, the processed data were uploaded to the SQLite database and to the General Algebraic Modeling System, which calculated the time spent on each section of the route. The results are important for dealing with traffic and logistics issues that many companies and companies are engaged in. This approach represents a new technique for creating boundary conditions in traffic tasks. The output is high quality input data for optimization in logistics.
Risk management concerning safety and health at work in a selected organization
Hošták, Branislav ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Martincová, Jana Victoria (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with specifics and problems in OSH management in the case of working from home with an administrative character. The introductory part is focused on definitions and the theoretical background of the issue. In the next part, risk analysis methods are designed and implemented to identify weaknesses of working from home from the employee's point of view and management from the employer's point of view. In the practical part, the current state of OSH management when working from home was determined using a questionnaire. The results were analysed, and measures were proposed based on them. In the analysis of the findings, the results are compared with other surveys on the issue.
Fuzzy decision models
Starý, Josef ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Žák, Libor (advisor)
This master's thesis is focused on fuzzy decision-making using fuzzy inference systems. In the first part, the math theory necessary in this field is described. The main objective of the thesis is to create a fuzzy inference system with adaptive cruise control function. Mathematical software MATLAB is used to accomplish this goal. The system evalutes situations and decides on the vehicle's response based on input variables such as the vehicles's speed, the speed of the previous vehicle, and the distance between vehicles. Its functionality is tested in this thesis using simulations of fictional scenarios, and then the system is compared to real adaptive cruise control systems using real data.
Risk Modelling in Engineering Applications
Konečný, Antonín ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on risk modelling in engineering applications. The knowledge obtained from statistical methods of operational research, specifically regression analysis, is used. Electrical quantities measured on the stator winding of an electrical machine (generator) are analyzed. Regression analysis and statistical hypothesis testing is performed in Statgraphics software. The success results of the regression analysis for risk reduction are documented in detail and the regression curves are visualized in graphs. Conclusions and recommendations for each generator, as well as general ones, are formulated.
