Glass work is one of such branches, which affected the regional development and general character of not only Jablonec region, but also the whole N othern Czechia. The very inception of glass work in this region is strongly connected with German collonisation. People, who came to this Czech border area, were originally from relatively crowded German regions. Such suitable natural conditions as e. g. deep forests, mountain rivers, it all made glass work possible. On this base, metallurgy followed by glass workshops, especially centred on abrasive technologies. In Nothern Czechia, there are vety exhausting climate conditions; the soil bonity is very poor as well. These facts influenced the economic structure and activities of its inhabitants. All mentioned factors made people not only to work in glass industry, but also in textile workshops. It means, they worked in the two most important economic branches of N othern Czechia. Prom the turn of the 18th and 19th century, key changes in glass work came into being in that time in Jizerské hory region. This period was characterised by the system of distributed manufacture, based on protoindustrialisation. A wide range of goods started to be produced here. The dynamic development began in conjunction with a great position in highway system (from 18th century), its strong agricultural upcountry, an economic (since 1850) and afterwards political liberalization in 60th years of the 19th century. Starting with year 1860 there was founded many important companies, e.g. the joint stock sugar refinery from year 1864, the other sugar refinery founded by František Horský z Horskýsfeldu (very important Czech progressive agriculturalist and manufacturer) from year 1870, Loan office from the same year or the join stock chemical factory with producing fertilizers, so-called "Lučebka". It was the first wave of founding of factories, profiting from sugar-beet boom. The main place of founding these fabrics was in the neighbourhood of the local railwaystation.

Ďoubalová, Iva ; Jančík, Drahomír (advisor) ; Jakubec, Ivan (referee)
This text deals to the topic of monetary reform which took place in Czechoslovakia in 1st June 1953, which was closely associated with cancellation of fixed market. Except chapters about economical reasons, preparation and rules of monetary reform author mainly describes reactions of people to it and social effects which reform meant. Due to information from partial studies about this theme and data from National archive in Prague author made image about ways of protests against monetary reform and its range. Strikes and demonstrations were the most widespread ones. They broke out in almost all bigger cities. It was the first opened protest in the country east of so called iron curtain. However, it is important to mention that discontent was economically motivated, political demands were only rare. Monetary reform meant also social change for most of the people in Czechoslovakia. Its rules were disadvantageous mostly for certain social groups: private farmers and tradesmen (so called "capitalistic elements"). It was another way how they were forced to join socialistic economic sector. But workers were also negatively affected by monetary reform, although they were most important pillar of the regime. Whole society was affected by this upheaval for several years. Principal aim of this work is to show all...

Drnek, Kryštof ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Jásek, Jaroslav (referee)
The Prague's evolution into capitol of the new republic is divided into three stages, split by two wars. The progress of the city begun deep in the era of the Austria-Hungary imperium - in the middle of the 19th century, when the new town council was elected from czech townsman upper classes. It led into the process started with series of construction and administration projects. The city was upgraded with new bridges, railwaystations. On the place of the fortified walls, which were cancelled in the year 1866, shortly after Prussian-Austrian war, was quickly built piles of houses that bound inner Prague with it's suburbs. The administration were trying to connect the Prague's suburbs with the inner city but only few of them this procesess accepted. The foursome of the inner satellites (Žižkov, Karlín, Královské Vinohrady and Smíchov363) this projects declined and until the World War I remained on their own. Building of the logistic sites city underwent from the middle of the 19th century. First two logistic sites, the water supply system and the sewer system, were ancient systems supplying the city from the Middle Age. As the city was growing, the systems weren't able to maintain their main purposes, so the town council took action to rebuild them to prevent huge hygienic damages. The water supply system...
The settlement of region Chomutov in the years 1945-1952
Haviar, Jakub ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Rákosník, Jakub (referee)
The relationship and cooperation between the Czechs and Germans were essential for the development of the territory Also we can conclude, the situation is the same regarding the future, although the level may shift. Till the date this relationship is affected by the traumatic break up during the world war two. This event disrupted cooperation and contact of both nations for decades. In its consequences the Germans were expatriated, nonetheless Czechoslovakia was stabilized both politically and socioeconomically. Even nowadays there are debates among Czech and German historians, politicians and the community concerning the development after 1945. Was it expatriation //displacement// (vysídlení, odsun) or expulsion (vyhnání) which took place at that time? In certain perspective this question still divides the two nations. Each side has its own view from which it interprets the history. We have to note, that even before the expatriation, which was approved at the Potsdam Conference, an unorganized expulsion took place. This phase of the expatriation is considered an injustice and a violation the human rights by all scholars. It is after this expulsion, when the organized expatriation had begun. From the Czech point of view this is defined as expatriation, on the other German side the same process is labeled...

Rudolf Jedlička belongs to the most important Czech doctors of the beginning of the 20th century. After finishing his studies he engaged, under the influence of his favourite professor Karel Maydl, in surgery. Nevertheless he was very soon interested in X-ray science and radiology - the science branches, which were just newly being formed, and whose pioneer in the central Europe he became. Jedlička was often consulted as a diagnostic and operator thanks to his many-sided medical skills. He connected his life with the Faculty of Medicine of the Czech Charles-Ferdinand University, respectively Charles University, where he was engaged as an educationalist - creator of so called Jedlička school, which became bearer of his medical heritage. He reached the top of his career in 1921, when he was designated as regular professor of surgery and simultaneously head of the II. Clinic of Surgery. Jelínek, Jaroslav ; Jančík, Drahomír (advisor) ; Jakubec, Ivan (referee)
This work deals with the competitive fight between the industrial enterprises Českomoravská - Kolben - Daněk (ČKD) and Škodovy závody in years 1928-1931. It concentrates on the negotiations of the settlement of disputes between the involved parties. This work is divided into two main thematic chapters. The first chapter deals with the origin of the concern ČKD that began in 1871 with the origin of his home enterprise První českomoravské továrny na stroje v Praze, which went on thank to the fusion with the company Elektrotechnická akciová společnost (former Breifeld- Daněk a spol.). Owing to these three fusions the world-famous trademark ČKD arose. The second chapter deals with the competitive fight and with the effort to eliminate it. This chapter contains eight thematic units dealing with the causes and consequences of the competitive fight between the enterprises. Attention is paid to three attempts at agreement in 1929 and 1931. In 1931 the contract on collective production and selling of cars under the collective management of ČKD and Škoda závody was concluded. Both enterprises supposed that the long-time competition has been averted. The above mentioned contract was in the end avoided and the competitive fight became bigger than it used to be before.
