German-American Relations in the Era of the Chancellor Ludwig Erhard

The dissertation deals with relations of the Federal Republic of Germany and the United States in the era of Chancellor Ludwig Erhard. At that time, Erhard's partner on the American side was President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Therefore, the subject of my research were the ups and downs through which the relationship between Bonn and Washington went from 1963 to 1966. Both countries were bonded within the Western bloc with solid friendship, but in the given period they ran into a few points of friction that hindered their cooperation. The first issue that was causing tension were the Multilateral Forces (MLF). Although both countries were among the biggest supporters of the MLF, Johnson understood earlier than Chancellor Erhard that this project represented a blind alley. On the diplomatic contacts between the two countries it was evident that the Germans were heading to a certain isolation because of their pressure to implement the MLF. During 1965, Johnson and his administration chose to prefer the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) to the MLF, but for the Germans it was more difficult to absorb this change of priorities. The development of new dilational stents for resolving chronic benign stenosis and strictures of the respiratory airways and esophagus in children

Stenosis of the larynx and trachea accounts for a small but adverse spectrum of diagnoses in patients treated in ENT and Head and Neck Surgical departments. In treating chronic stenosis and strictures, an unequivocal, generally -accepted approach has not been established. The predominant method of treatment is surgical. Other methods applied include endoscopic (laservaporation, aryteooidectomy) and extemal (expansive, resection) procedures. 10 the pediatric population, the desired method is one which has a minimal1y harmful impact to the growing child. For these reasons, indications to exteosive surgical treatments are limited. Dilatation of stenosis and stricture, and temporary maintaining of lumen patency using stents individual1y measured "to size" seem to afford greater advantages for use in the pediatric population. In cooperation with the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic), we have worked on the development of stents suitable for clinical use that exhibit a combination of useful properties (rigidity, absorbability, biocompatibility, microbial inactivity). The influence of the second Berlin crisis on the foreign policy of the Federal Republic of Germany 1958-1961

Spolkové republice Německo se v padesátých letech dvacátého století postupně podařilo zařadit mezi standardní západoevropské země. Její členství v NATO a aktivní účast na procesu evropské integrace přispěly alespoň k částečné nápravě nepříznivé pověsti Německa získané za druhé světové války. Klíčovou osobou v tomto procesu byl spolkový kancléř Konrád Adenauer, který stál na čele hlavní vládní strany CDU. Především jeho zásluhou se podařilo, že SRN začala být vnímána s respektem. Rostoucí spolupráci mezi západním státy ovšem podstatně ohrozily události tzv. druhé berlínské krize, která na rozdíl od krize první, odehrávající se v druhé polovině čtyřicátých let, neznamenala přímé ohrožení míru, ale konflikt mezi Východem a Západem tu měl spíše kabinetní a diplomatický charakter. Prvním závažným problémem při popisu druhé berlínské krize je periodizace událostí. Ve své práci se držím tradičního pojetí, které za začátek krize považuje Chruščovovu diplomatickou aktivitu z listopadu 1958 a za její konec stavbu zdi v srpnu 1961. Například Michael Lemke však svůj výklad končí až v červnu 1963, v době Kennedyho slavné návštěvy Západního Berlína. The development of composites based on inorganic binders designed for the extreme applications

The topic of this master's thesis is the development of composite materials based on inorganic binders for use in extreme conditions. It means especially geopolymeric or alkali activated materials (AAM) based composites. The theoretical part of this thesis summarizes knowledges about the development and use of alkali-activated materials, their structure and mechanisms of their formation. It also deals with the applicable raw materials for AAM and their exciters, which are in particular water glass and sodium hydroxide. There also have been a summary of the effects of high temperatures and chemicals on the mechanical properties of AAM and the requirements of standard EN 1504-3 for repairing materials. The task of the practical part was to develop a repair mortar for concrete structures based on AAM so that its production was as simple as possible, ie one-component materials. Gradually six recipes have been develeoped. Test specimens made from these recipes have been putted to selected tests according to the requirements of ČSN EN 1504-3.

The influence of carp nutrition (Cyprinus carpio) on changes of meat quality

The aim of this study was based on laboratory analysis of each parameter, an assessment of livestock interventions, current methods and techniques used in fishing enterprises. Experiments carried out on the market carp in ponds in the system Naděj and the hatcheries under the pond Svět where it was used mechanically and cooked cereals. After processing the fish fillets was done by measuring muscle textural profile. The highest average value of the hardness of the fish ponds was measured in control samples (25,008 ? 3,507 kg). Followed by samples of fish that were unprepared food whatsoever triticale (19,530 ? 2,842 kg). Fish feeding whole triticale heat-treated at 100 ° C (9,990 ? 1,506 kg) and heat-treated triticale mashed at 100 ° C (10,031 ? 1,696 kg) showed similar values of stiffness. The highest average value of the hardness of fish hatcheries was measured in samples of fish that were food whatsoever (20,420 ? 1,456 kg). In addition, followed in descending order of fish samples, which posed a triticale cooked at 100 ° C (11,198 ? 3,334 kg) of wheat at 100 ° C (10,286 ? 1,234 kg), barley at 100 ° C (8,564 ? 1,532 kg), and rye at 100 ° C (7,519 ? 1,993 kg).

Design of emergency system for chemical plant

The aim of this graduation thesis is to bring analysis of safety information systems and their configuration in the relation to the chemical plants. Initially, there are theoreti-cally and generally explained terms, as system, information system and safety system. The second (practical) part depicts the use of information systems in real life. The knowledge of theoretical principles and results of the analysis were used for design of the safety information systems for the chemical plants. Conclusion of practical part evaluates the present status and connection with Integrated Rescue System (IRS). The third part brings the transcription of authentic interviews with staff whose are responsi-ble for safety information system maintenance and its use in chemical plant. Finally, this graduation thesis evaluates the safety information system development for the future as well as of influence EU standards on Czech chemical plants.

The influence of nutrition of carp (Cyprinus carpio) on the qualitative characteristics of meat

Cereal triticale worked in various forms (kibbled, heat treatment) and its impact on the quality characteristics of meat (fat, yield, texture) was observed on the market carp (Cyprinus carpio) in ponds system Naděj: Horák, Baštýř a Fišmistr. The content of nutrients was determined in the fish muscle: crude protein, fat, ash and solids. Production share of natural food and supplementary feeding has been set. The fillets were measured basic texture properties such as hardness, chewiness, springiness and cohesiveness.

Analisis information during extraordinary occurrences

The aim of this graduation thesis is to bring a concise survey and analysis of safety in-formation systems and their configuration in the relation to the chemical and refining plants. Initially, it processes the information in general, presents it's life cycle and types of commu-nication. It also describes communication models. The second part depicts use of information systems in common life. The third part depicts particular application of safety information systems in the real chemical plants. This part shows main design problems and application of such systems. Using several examples, the third part presents classification, description and topology of the safety information systems. The known theoretical principles and the results of their analysis were used for the design of the safety information systems for the chemical plants. Finally, this graduation thesis evaluates the current state with future forecast.
